When I stepped out of the warm house, the cool air blanketed my body. I've been inside all day, so it felt great to get some fresh air. The moon that was placed up in the dark sky illuminated over the roofs that belonged to the houses and shops. Billions of stars twinkled around the black sky.

I stared up in awe. This pack loves when it's night time. We appreciate our surroundings. At night, everyone turns off their outside lights so that we could see all of the stars above us. It's so clear that I can see the milky way across the sky.

A shooting star shot across the sky, catching my attention. "Come on! Make a wish!" my wolf, Artemis, encouraged me.

"Okay." I replied before closing my eyes and making a wish to the moon goddess.

Please allow me to find my mate soon, I wished with my fingers crossed. I'm not as desperate as the other she-wolves, but I feel a bit lonely and would really love to be able to see my mate. I feel like I would be more complete with him.

After wishing on the star, I started making my way to the edge of the forest. I took off my clothes so that they won't rip when I shift. Once I was naked, I allowed my wolf side to take over. My bones cracked as they shifted and broke, forming into different positions. Fur started poking out of my skin, my teeth grew to the size of canine teeth, and my senses started kicking in.

When I was completely shifted, I picked up my clothes in my mouth and placed them under a bush. It felt really good to be able to be in my wolf form. It's been a while since the last time I shifted. So it felt amazing to be able to have the light breeze brush against my sandy fur.

A wolfy smile formed on my face as I broke into a run. The wind blew past my fast-moving body. My paws pounded against the ground, kicking up dirt behind me. The trees were just big blurs as I moved past them. The deeper I got into the forest, the more I felt alive.

Even though it was dark, I was able to see because of my good eyesight. Plus I know this forest like I know all of the flavors of Oreos by memory.

I came to a halt when I reached a lake. The moon reflected off of the water, creating a beautiful scenery. It  was pure gorgeous. Why can't everything be this breath taking. I wish I had my phone, then I would be able to take a picture of this. If I ever have pups I'll make sure to show them this beautiful site.

I looked around, just to make sure no one was around, before shifting back into my human form, leaving me bare.

My wavy, brown hair fell over my shoulders as I looked down at my reflection in the water. Blue eyes stared back at me. I knelt down by the water and allowed my fingers to lightly touch the water. The cold liquid rippled when I wiggled my fingers. I was tempted to just dive in, but the air was a bit chilly to go swimming. But sticking my legs in won't hurt.

My legs slowly entered the water as I sat at the edge of the bank. The grass around me felt like a soft carpet. I just wanted to go to sleep right then and there. But I knew that once I closed my eyes, I would never be able to leave this peaceful environment.

I felt a fish nibble on the tips of my toes. I giggled and wiggled my toes, scaring the fish away.

I sighed in content as another rush of wind blew past me. My stomach growled, catching me off guard. I can really go for some Oreos right now.

All of my relaxation diminished when I heard a stick snap and rustling of bushes.

I sat up in alert. I looked around to see who it was, but I didn't see a thing. My teeth started growing as well as my nails, just to be prepared. More snapping of sticks echoed, causing my heart beat to increase.

I quickly shifted into my wolf form, suddenly feeling exposed. I was about to turn around and take off running, but a loud, vicious growl erupted from behind me. I froze in my spot. The red eyes from my dream appeared in the back of my mind. I quickly shook the thought away. This isn't the right time to be thinking about him.

"Who is that?" I asked my wolf.

"I-I don't know..." she stuttered. She seemed to be more alert than me. Like she knew something I don't. She felt uneasy, which made me feel uneasy.

My first I thought it was a rogue but it seemed impossible. The wolves who are on patrol duty would've noticed a rogue coming onto pack territory.

I was about to take another step, but I heard the growl again. But this time it sounded closer. I gulped and slowly turned around. I gasped when my eyes met with a pair of red eyes.

Not just any red eyes.....but the ones that belonged to the monster in my dreams.

My first thought was that I was dreaming, but it felt too real to be fake.

I didn't realize that he moved forward because the next thing I know, he's standing a couple feet away from me. He towered over me. His height surprised me. I'm of alpha blood, so my wolf is bigger than most she-wolves. He was taller than me. But what caught my attention was that he didn't look like the rest of us.

He was the definition of beast. A monster. His fur was the color of the midnight sky. He stood on two feet, unlike normal werewolves. His teeth, sharper than mine, were being shown as he snarled at me.

My body shook with fear as I stared up at him. Drool dripped from his mouth and landed on the ground next to me. I glanced down underneath me and realized the I just pissed on the ground.

That's how scared I am right now.

Could I have at least gotten one more Oreo before I die?

The werewolf-beast guy started advancing towards me. He growled again and licked his teeth. Oh God! Is he going to eat me? Is he a cannibal? Unless he's not a werewolf at all..... I probably taste like trash.

I was taking a step back when I tripped over a rock or some shit and fell on my side. I tried to get up, but he was already standing over me. I let out a small whimper as I was able to see his face more clearly and up close.

"Shift!" Artemis ordered me.

"Why the hell would I do that? I would be naked!" I yelled at her.

"Trust me." her answer was enough to convince me. "You would also be able to scream for help."

"I can always mind-link someone."

"Yeah, but he will be able to see you and may end up killing you before you can even tell them what's going on."

"I can try and defend myself."

I could practically hear the flat look Artemis was most likely giving me. "Really? He could snap your neck within seconds."

I finally complied by allowing my bones to shift back into their human positions. All of the fur went back into my skin, leaving me bare and naked. I could feel the dirt and rocks digging into my skin that surfaced on my back.

My breaths became rapid and heavy as the monster leaned forward and trapped me between his furry arms. I turned my head to look down at his paws that were next to my head.

His long nails dug into the ground. I gulped. They looked super sharp from what I can tell.

His breath fanned my face. I mentally gagged as the smell of rotten flesh danced around my nose. He lifted his big paw and traced his nail down my chest and down my stomach, leaving a small scratch behind. I shivered at the feeling of this beast touching my bare skin. He stopped when his nail reached just below my bellybutton and moved it back up to my face. Then he ran his nails through my messy hair that now has leaves and dirty tangled in it along with sweat.

An unpleasant shiver made its way all around my body because of how close he was to me. Nobody's touched me like this before. It felt so weird especially because he's a monster who I don't even know. I stared at his eyes in fear.

The red eyes looked different from my dreams. These ones looked softer and less angry. But that didn't keep me from opening my mouth and letting out a loud, horrified scream.

The beast in front of me growled and swiped at my face. I cried in pain as I felt my cheek stinging. My hand immediately shot up to my face. I felt a warm, sticky substance grace itself on my fingers. I pulled it away and stared at it. Blood.

I bit my lip so hard, that it began drawing blood. "Get away from me, you monster!" I screamed at him.

His red eyes turned into slits and he snarled at me, but he listened. He turned around and disappeared in the dark.

My eyes widened. He actually listened to me? I was half expecting him to kill me right then and there.

Tears sprung my eyes as my body ached. I looked down at my stomach. The trail of blood from the opened cut was getting worse. Great, it's most likely going to get infected.....

"Kiera!" I cried through our mind-link.

"Trinity? Are you okay?" she asked.

"I don't know...just come. I need help." I replied.

"Where are you?"

"I'm in the forest. Follow my scent." I blocked her out after that. I just wanted peace and quiet. I laid my head back down against the ground. I stared up at the trees that towered over me. The moon shone bright and I could see it peeking through the trees. I watched the stars that scattered the sky.

I wish I was a star. Shining bright up there, carefree and beautiful. All of them are the same and of equal beauty. It would be great to have a life as a star.

I closed my eyes. Those red eyes made an appearance behind my eyelids. I shivered as I could still feel his nails touching my skin.

Who was he and why does he haunt me in my sleep?

Ten minutes later, Kiera, Jaylon, and Jordyn came running towards me. Kiera gasped when she saw all of the blood on my body. Jaylon knelt down beside me with a worried look on his face. "Oh gosh, what happened? Are you okay?"

I continued to stare up at the night sky. "He was here...." I whispered. My voice was shaky because of fear. "I saw him." A tear slipped from my eye, rolled down the side of my face, and passed my ear.

Kiera and Jordyn looked around in alert. "Who did you see?" Kiera asked with a horrified look on her face.

"I saw the monster from my nightmares." Another tear escaped from my eyes. "He's real. I saw him. He was standing right in front of me. He scratched me when I screamed for help. He looked exactly like he did in my dreams."

I quickly sat up and ignored the slight dizziness I was feeling. "What if I saw him again? What if next time he actually kills me? He looked like he wanted to, but I don't know what held him back."

Jordyn came and knelt down beside Jaylon. He cradled my face in his hands. "When were you going to tell me about your nightmares, cookie?" I could sense the hurt and betrayal in his voice. I averted my gaze in guilt, but I could still feel his blue eyes on me.

"I'm sorry. I just thought you would make it a big deal when its not. You're my over-protective brother. What do you expect me to do?" I lightly punched his shoulder to try and lift up the mood.

His frown morphed into a small smile, showing off his pearly white teeth. I've always been jealous of his teeth. They're so perfectly straight and white. He's never had to get his teeth checked out. He looked down at my bloody body and his smile faded. I didn't really care that they were seeing me naked. We've seen each other naked numerous times from when we shifted.

He slipped his shirt off and carefully helped me get it on. Then he wrapped his arms around my small frame and lifted me off of the ground. My arms wrapped around his neck and my legs went around his waist. His smell, deodorant and strawberries, filled my nose.

"I love you." I mumbled as I placed a kiss on his cheek.

He held me tighter. "I love you too." He whispered back.

When the three of them started walking back the way they came, I found my eyes wandering back over to the spot where I saw the big furry animal. I knew this wasn't the last time I'm going to be seeing him, but part of me hoped that it was.

I shivered as I got the feeling that I was being watched.

I buried my face into my brother's neck. My eyes became heavy so I closed them and allowed sleep to consume me.
