The smoke billowed up from inside the house. I stood there, paralysed. Not sure what to do.

My phone was in my pocket. I grabbed it and dialled the fire brigade.

"H-hello?!" I asked

"Yes what's your emergency."

"Fire at ____ (A/N I can't think of an address so I'll leave it blank :'D) I said, panicked.

"Ok. Are there any people there?"

"Yes. My mum dad and little sister!"

"Ok we are sending people now."

"Hurry" I said before the line went dead.

*Lukes P.O.V*

*beep* *beep* *beep*

I groggily lift my hand up to turn the alarm off. I then slowly sit up on my bed and rub my eyes to get rid of any remaining sleep.

I stretch and yawn, before glancing over to the other side of the dorm to see Liam sleeping.

The cover was lazily drawn over him and he was curled up like a little puppy.

I remembered the reason I set my alarm. It was the first day of lessons today. I quickly got out of bed and took a quick shower. I got changed into a pair of black jeans and a hoodie, I then brushed my teeth and my hair and walked back into the dorm.

Liam was still asleep curled up on his bed and I decided to wake him up.

I walked over to him.

"Liam, wake up" I said.

He didn't move.

I said it again but louder.

Still no response.

Ah well. I guess he asked for it. I thought to myself before grabbing a cup and filling it with cold water.

I walked back over to his bed and checked to make sure that nothing electronic was there. There wasn't.

"Liam I'm giving you one more chance to wake up" I told him loudly.

Still no response.

I slowly started to tip the cup upside down.

"WAIT WAIT IM UP IM UP" he yelled, throwing the cover off him and getting out of bed.

He glared at me.

"That wasn't very nice!" He said.

"Ah but you see, I never tipped the water" I say holding the glass up.

He looked at me confused, before relief filled his eyes.

"Oh right ok" he said before grabbing some clothes and walking into the bathroom.

I sat down on my bed and listened to Green Day, while waiting for Liam to finish getting ready.

About 5 minutes later he finally emerged from the bathroom.

"Well then, do you want to go and get breakfast. We still have half an hour before English starts." He said before walking towards the door.

"Ok sure." I say, following him out the door.

Once in the canteen I grab a cup of PG Tips tea and some bacon on toast. Liam gets a plate of bacon and eggs on toast.

I sit down and much on my toast while sipping my tea.

"You drink tea?" Liam asks, curiously.

"Yup" I say before taking another sip.

"Ewww. Tea is disgusting."

I glare at him from opposite the table.

"And besides, it takes waaaay to long in a kettle. Why not just stick it in the microwave. It's so much easier." He says.

I give him a death glare and and a low growl escapes my throat.

"HOW DARE YOU! YOU CANT PUT TEA IN A BLOODY MICROWAVE!! THATS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD!!" I yell.

Liam looks at me strangely.

"WHAT?" I yell.

"Sorry. I didn't know that tea was so important to you..." he says.

I start to laugh.

"Why are you laughing?" He asks.

"I'm not really sure." I say.

We both start laughing and get some strange looks from other students.

Suddenly a red haired girl walked up to us. I think her name was Audrey. Can't be sure though.

"Hi Liam, and Sleepyhead" She says cheerfully.

"Oh hey Andrea!" Liam says

"Mind if I sit here?" She asks

"Nope" Liam says.

She then proceeds to sit next to Liam and starts talking.

"So what lesson do you have first Liam?" She asks

"English"

"Cool I have maths" She says.

I decide to check my timetable.

English B34 I see written on the paper

"Hey Luke what do you have?" Liam asks, smiling.

"English" I reply

"Where?"

"B34" I say

"Cool! You have the same English as me!" He says.

I check the time on my watch

"Liam we better go if you don't wanna be late." I say

"Ok. Bye Andrea!" He says, waving before grabbing his bag and walking with me into the corridor.

We follow some signs to the B block and start looking for B34. About 5 minutes of looking later we finally come across it.

There are only a few people sitting there and I decide to take my seat at the back.

Liam follows me and sits down with me.

I start to doodle on a spare piece of paper I found in my bag while I wait for the teacher to finally show up.

The teacher walks in and starts to teach the lesson.

Next lesson was physics. I walk in and find that the teacher was already there.

"Good morning class!" He says.

He then proceeds to take the register and starts talking about what we are going to be doing through the years.

I started to zone out having heard most of it before.

"And today we will be learning about lunar cycles!"

My attention is drawn to topic in question as I glance up at the teacher.

"As you may or may not know, tonight is a full moon" he says

How could I forget?! I ask myself.

"Now don't worry children, werewolves don't exist!" He says jokingly.

That alone makes me want to burst out laughing.

~le time skip to lunch~

I grab some chips from the canteen and take a seat a a table with Liam following me.

I check my timetable to see what my last two lessons would be.

Double art. That's not bad. I quite enjoy art.

We both finish our meals and head outside to wander around the school grounds.

"Hey can you show me the woods with the decayed hand?!" Liam asks excitedly.

"Sure why not" I decide. Seeing as we still had half an hour left.

We start to wander around the forest until we reach the place where the hand was found.

"This is where I found it" I say

"Cool. Let's look for clues" he says.

"What?" I ask

"You know. Like in movies. When someone is murdered there is always clues." He says matter of factly.

"How'd you know someone's been murdered?" I ask

"You found a rotting hand. I wonder what else could have happened...!" He says sarcastically.

"Animal attack?" I suggest.

"Awww you're no fun" he skulks.

"Anyway we should head back now and try and find out where art is" I say.

"Ok fine. Let's go" he says.

We then head back to the school and make our way to art.

~yet another timey skippy~

Art was quite enjoyable.

I walk back up to our dorm and flop down on the bed. I can't believe I forgot about the full moon. I've been too distracted lately with finding the hand and everything.

Me and Liam both head down to get some dinner and then come back upstairs.

Liam gets changed and falls asleep almost instantly.

I check the time

23:45.

I rush outside. There wasn't much time left.

A/N. To the 2 or 3 people that actually read this story, Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Here have a slightly longer than usual chapter to make up for it. I aim to get about 1000 words per chapter at least. Sorry if this chapter is a bit all over the place. I was half asleep when I wrote the last bit, cuz I have to get up like 6:30 tomorrow to catch a plane and have spent the last few hours packing 😂. Well anyway I'll stop rambling now and I hope you are enjoying the story so far! Xoxo
