The six teens and the two thieves pelted down the street to where the scream had come from.
Everyone was mildly surprised that the two mystery girls were following them, but said nothing of it.

They rounded the corner to an open town square. Buildings surrounded it, all once small businesses.

Though the teens had no time to be nostalgic, as in the middle of the square was the source of the scream.

A short teenage girl with a red beanie was fighting with a tall boy who appeared to be about seventeen. The girl was vicious, slicing the skin on the boy's elbow with a pocket knife before they locked arms, each trying to overpower one other. The fight was intense, as this was clearly more than a minor dispute.

To everyone's surprise, Jade ran right up to the fight, stopping next to them.

"Stop it!" She yelled, grabbing the boy's arm. "You'll kill each other!"

The boy twisted sharply, throwing Jade to the ground and shouldering the other girl away from him. Before anyone could move, he walked up to Jade and kicked her hard in the side.

"This is what happens when you interfere!" He roared, towering over Jade, who was tensed up in pain and fear.

Suddenly, Raven shot past everyone like a bullet, ramming into the boy's side with an enraged battle cry and taking him by surprise.

"Raven, no!" Fang yelled.

"Stop! Get back over here!" Atlas shouted.

As if on cue, several people, all seeming to be males with age ranges from fifteen to eighteen, charged from the surrounding buildings and alleys.

Previously, Fang had been wondering why he seemed to be the only guy around. He had found his answer.

Raven, Jade, and the girl with the beanie were immediately swallowed up by the crowd, which seemed to be fixed on taking all of the new teens out.

"Charge!" Screamed the two mystery girls, dashing to the group to meet them head-on in their dash. They seemed oddly thrilled, as if just the thought of battle was exciting.

"Awh, screw it." Fang muttered. "Attack!"
The teens charged, intent on saving Jade and Raven.

->Fang<-

Fang rushed the crowd, trying to break through and get to Raven and Jade. The battle was definitely not even, as there were more of the new people than his group.

A boy intercepted him, causing Fang to run right into him. He immediately felt a fist connect with his shoulder, and stumbled backward. He counter attacked, kicking the guy hard in the knee. The boy collapsed with a groan, holding his knee.

Two more boys emerged from behind their friend, glaring at Fang.
He wasn't getting to Jade or Raven anytime soon.

->Jade<-

Oh no, what have I done?! Jade struggled to sit up, hearing loud footsteps and shouts all around her. I join a group and the first thing I do is lead them into danger!

Suddenly, Jade was yanked to her feet by her hair, causing her to scream in pain. A tall boy had her by the hair, and was positioned to punch her in the stomach.

"No!" She yelled, punching him first.

Her blindly aimed fist connected with his neck, the boy dropping her and collapsing, clutching his throat with wide, terrified eyes.

Jade caught sight of two guys dragging a struggling Raven to the buildings away from the crowd.

"No!" Jade screamed again, running so hard, her heels seemed to yell in protest. I will not be useless!

Someone struck their arm out and caught Jade by the neck, her own momentum causing her throat to be hit hard.

Stars sparked in her vision and she stumbled, her breath catching in her throat. She felt her arms being pinned roughly behind her.
No... not like this...

->Atlas<-

Atlas rammed her foot into a shorter guy's face as a result of a high kick. She felt the boy's nose break and cringed slightly.

No time to regret.

Seeing as the boy appeared preoccupied with his broken nose, Atlas whipped around only to get punched in the eye.

She yelled in rage and pain, instinctively covering her eye with a hand.

That hurts way worse than I thought it would!

She aimed as best as she could with her free arm, but missed slightly and nicked the guy's shoulder. He grabbed her arm before she could pull it back and slammed her into the hard pavement.

No! The girl with the red beanie socked a guy in the jaw, then stabbed his leg with her pocket knife. Stupid people, running in pretending to be heroes. I had it under control!

She felt something hit her in the back of the head and she stumbled forward into the guy she had just stabbed. He seemed to recover quickly and grab her, turning her around to face the guy who had hit her, pinning her arms behind her back.

"Oh, look." A male with dark brown hair and appeared to be about eighteen looked down at her. "Rush, was it?"

In response, Rush spit at him, eyes glittering with rage.

"Yup. It's you." The boy looked disgusted. "You've been causing a lot of trouble lately. Maybe it's time to get rid of you."

->3rd Person<-

Eventually, the shouting died down and the battle slowed to a stop.

Every one of the teens, including the thieves, were restrained by a member of the new group, though Raven was nowhere to be seen.

"What a rude way to greet new friends!" An eighteen year old boy with dark brown hair and hazel eyes strutted to the center of the square. "What are we going to do with you now?"

"Here's an idea!" Ryft shouted, rage clear on her freckled face. "Let us go!"

"Hm, not a bad idea..." the male tapped his chin with a finger for a second. "Not gonna happen." He ended. "Anyway, I'm Blake. And you've just lost to the Fallout Freaks."

"The Fallout Freaks?" Atlas snorted. "Seriously?"

"Serious as a black eye." Blake countered, referencing Atlas's swelling eye.

"Ohh... this guy.." Atlas growled. "Is going to die."

"You guys aren't leaving." Blake continued, ignoring Atlas. "Not until we decide, anyway."

"You can't just keep us here!" Wailed Silver, who had been quiet until now. "You're no better than school bullies!"

"Oh?" Blake walked closer to Silver, bending down so he was eye level with her. "Would a school bully do... this?"

He struck out with a knife, slicing a large cut right through Silver's jeans into her leg just above her knee.

Silver let out a blood curdling scream, tears streaming down her face. She was unable to do much else than let out choked sobs of agony, her arms not available to tend to her wound.

Immediately, the rest of the teens were even more enraged, as of right then and there, they had declared war on these "Fallout Freaks".

"You shouldn't have done that..." Fang growled in a dangerous tone.

Then Jade shouted out, a dazed fog in her eyes. "Where's Raven?"

Ryft looked around with a panicked expression, eyes widening when she noticed the blue eyed girl's absence.

"I don't see her!" Atlas shouted.

"Missing someone?" Blake asked, glancing around. "Probably dead, in that case."

"You monster!" Atlas shrieked. First he had brutally injured her best friend, and now had likely gotten Raven killed? Atlas's eyes burned with the rage of a thousand burning suns. This guy was a dead man.

Suddenly, Raven could be seen sneaking silently up behind Blake, who was now walking over to Atlas. No one took notice but Fang, who did his best to act casual.

Blake grabbed Atlas by the collar of her shirt and lifted her up. The boy behind her let go and backed up a step.

"Say it again." Blake taunted Atlas.

"You. Monster." Atlas dared to utter through clenched teeth.

"No!" Ryft whispered. "Dummy! Shut up!"

Suddenly, Raven leaped seemingly out of nowhere, wielding a metal crowbar. She landed on Blake's back, nails digging into his shoulders as she tried to take him down by pulling him backwards.

Blake threw her off easily, but immediately received a crowbar to the face. He dropped Atlas and stumbled with shock.

Raven was a wild animal. Her eyes were so filled with anger and with such intensity, even the most intimidating enemies flinched back a little.

Blake held out an arm to try and stop another swing, but was hit in the elbow.

"She's insane!" He yelped.

"Go! Go!" Raven shrieked, swinging the weapon again.

It took everyone a second, but everyone figured out that she wasn't talking to Blake.

She was talking to them.

Fang suddenly twisted free from his stunned captor. "Go!" He repeated Raven's cry, and the battle seemed to start all over again.
