Wind
The sound, like a long train horn, blares. My neighbours' screams have stopped.
The storm tears our homes, brick by brick. We... had deluded ourselves into thinking we could get away with our sins.
I rip my floorboards apart, searching for the wings as my roof flies to the whirlpooling sky. Sensing a huge mass has taken form behind me from afar, I desperately feel for the soft pair in the dark. Deep shivers and chill overtake my bones. The ruthless rain drowns my tears. After I found the wings, I face the sky.
The many faces of sylphs among the thick clouds glower at me, and the shadows deepen their deformed features. I kneel before them, expressing my regret for killing their kin and stealing. But their glowing eyes show no mercy.
...They open their mouths wide. So wide.
And blare the sound at me.
