Blood spilled into the silver river like churned up mud, Greypaw fell to the ground with a thud his ear bleeding heavily. Fallenstar leapt at the larger of the two wolves trying to protect her apprentice, Greypaw watched as his mentor and leader was thrown against a nearby tree leaving her stunned and out of breath. With a new surge of anger Greypaw lunged at the wolves his jaws wide, he landed on the smaller of the two and quickly snapped its neck. It lay having a spasm attack while it's life drained from its body, the older wolf stood shocked before it stared at Greypaw.
"That was your last mistake runt," the fully grown male wolf snarled leaping at Greypaw, Fallenstar had recovered and jumped in the way of the wolves snapping jaws in an attempt to save her apprentice from having his throat torn out. A blood curdling yowl split the air and everything fell silent, the older wold backed off and fled while Greypaw crouched over his injured mentor. Once the wolf had left Greypaw looked down at Fallenstar, she had a long gash down her side where teeth had scored their aim.
"Fallenstar don't worry I will take you back to camp as swiftly as possible!" Greypaw whined picking his leader up gently, he ran as fast as he could back to camp. The taste of blood filled his mouth making him wince, he rushed into camp exhausted. Limping over to the medicine cats den he place his mentor and leader down once inside, he nudged both medicine cats and sat beside a heavily bleeding Fallenstar.
"What in the name of.......... Windfur quickly get up Fallenstar needs our help!" Heavystep swiftly leapt to his paws and grabbed what he needed while is closest friend and fellow medicine cat applied some merigold and other herbs to Fallenstars wounds, Greypaw sat at the edge of the den unable to take his eyes of his leader.

The sun had just arisen by the time Greypaw awoke, his leader had lost a life due to the blood loss of her wound. He glanced beside him where Fallenstar lay sleeping soundly, Greypaw swore revenge on the wolf that had done this to her. With a sigh he heaved himself to his paws and padded out to the fresh kill pile to get some food for his leader when she woke up, Greypaw grabbed a rabbit for them to share. When he got back to the medicine cats den he saw Fallenstar had awoken and was examining her wounds, she looked over at Greypaw as he arrived back with a rabbit in his jaws.
"Good to see you awake Fallenstar," Greypaw whispered as he placed the rabbit in front of his leader, Fallenstar let out a soft purr.
"Without you I probably would have never returned, starclan had told me with haste to wake up as something bad was happening, when I woke up I saw the wolves and then I was thrown into a tree, everything was fuzzy for a moment then I saw the wolf lunge at you so I acted and then here we are," Fallenstar recalled, Greypaw nodded before he lay down to eat. They ate in peace before Flintleaf padded in a look of happiness that her leader was alive spread across her face, Fallenstar began to tremble which made Greypaw look at her confused. Normally his mighty leader was happy to see her deputy, Flintleaf didn't seem to notice as she stood in front of them.
"Greypaw with Fallenstar unable to leave the medicine cats den for a while I will continue your training, if that's alright with you of course Fallenstar," Flintleaf questioned but Greypaw thought he heard a hiss in her voice, Fallenstar nodded but didn't speak which made Flintleaf satisfied. Once Flintleaf left Greypaw turned to his leader confused, the two continued to eat silently but Greypaw felt Fallenstar had seen something when she walked with starclan that she was too scared to think of. He decided to go see Flintleaf about some training to distract himself for a while, he found the ageing she-cat sitting in the shade near the leaders den looking oddly comfy where she sat.
"Flintleaf! Could we go out and do some training, I need to distract myself from what happened last night," Greypaw grumbled, Flintleaf gave a simple smile but Greypaw felt as though she was planning something.
"Of course Greypaw! We shall go right now if you wish," Flintleaf purred, Greypaw nodded and looked back at his siblings who sat looking rather sad.
"If it's alright with you can we take Poppypaw and Sagepaw with us?" Greypaw asked rather simply, Flintleaf stopped in her tracks but didn't turn to him instantly.
"If you wish Greypaw," Flintleaf sighed, Greypaw ran over to his siblings who looked up at him with sad eyes.
"Come on Sagepaw, you too Poppypaw we are going out training!" Greypaw boasted, the two sisters looked at each other and their faces lit up.
"Come on Greypaw, we must hurry before everything hides in its burrows for when the day gets too hot!" Flintleaf called from the camp entrance, the trio raced after Flintleaf excited for some training.

It was just after sunhigh when Greypaw returned to camp, Sagepaw had returned but his sister Poppypaw had not. He assumed she was still out hunting and dropped his fresh kill off on the pile, Flintleaf wasn't back yet either which began to make Greypaw worry. The deputy had given him bad vibes all day ever since Fallenstar had gone quiet about her presence, birds suddenly flying off in the distance calling warnings of danger made Greypaw's heart lurch. He raced away from camp without thinking his mind filled with fears about what might have happened, he arrived at the spot he had heard the calls coming from and he looked around. His heartbeat almost stopped when he saw the scene in front of him, and there standing over the body it had its jaws wrapped around her neck and Greypaw didn't know what to do next.
