Chapter 10: Return and Hope
Last time Cyrus and his Edolas Counterpart assisted Lucy, Gray, and the members of Edolas Fairy Tail fight the Royal army. Now our favorite mages have returned to their world and must return home.
Cyrus felt himself slam into the ground after being sucked into the Anima, before he could even attempt to get back up, something slammed onto his back. "Ow, why did it have to throw us out like that?!" Lisanna whined in pain as she rubbed her bottom. "When your feeling up to it, would you mind getting off of my spine?" Cyrus grumbled in pained annoyance as the pain in his body only got worse from having the girl land on him. "Oh my gosh! Cyrus I'm so sorry!" Lisanna said as she quickly got off of the S-Rank Mage with an apologetic look.
Cyrus slowly got back on his feet before gently cracking his back. "Well, we're back in Earthland. Now it's time to get you to the cathedral so you can reunite with your siblings." Cyrus said with one last groan of pain as he turned to face Lisanna. "That's easier said then done, do we even know where we are?" Lisanna asked as she looked around the forest they landed in. Cyrus looked around the forest as he attempted to get his bearings. "I think this is actually the forest near the cathedral. We just need to find a clearing and go from there." Cyrus said as he looked over at Lisanna as he started leading the way through the trees in search of the cathedral.
Cyrus heard rustling from the tree line as they walked. Cyrus put an arm out in front of Lisanna to stop her from walking. "Alright whoever you are, get out here! I'm not in the mood for some ambush right now!" Cyrus shouted as he saw the rustling getting more violent before an Exceed with a scar on his face came into view.
"Okay, who are you exactly?" Cyrus asked as he stared at the cat in confusion. "My name is Panther Lily, I'm looking for Gajeel." Lily said as he crossed his arms. Cyrus let out an annoyed sigh, but knew that he couldn't ignore this. "Alright fine, follow us and I'm sure we'll find him." Cyrus said as he gestured for the Exceed to follow him and Lisanna on their way to the cathedral.
The trio entered a clearing where all of Team Natsu was currently gathered. "There you go, alright would all of you take care of this guy? I have to get Lisanna to the cathedral." The group turned to see them with a mixture of surprise and shock on their faces. Gajeel quickly grabbed Panther Lily as he hugged him. Meanwhile Lisanna spent the next few minutes explaining everything to the rest of Team Natsu. "Alright are we done here? I'd like to get Lisanna to the cathedral so I can go home and finally get some sleep!" Cyrus said in irritation as the three days of no sleeping has finally caught up to him.
Cyrus and Lisanna continued on their way as he finally saw the cathedral come into view. "Well are you ready?" Cyrus asked as he and Lisanna stopped right before the Cathedral. "I-I'm nervous, what do I say? What do I do?" Lisanna asked as Cyrus could see the worry in her eyes. Cyrus placed a hand on her head before ruffling her hair. "Your overthinking it, just go would you?" Cyrus said before he placed his hand on her back and gently pushing her forward. Lisanna smiled at Cyrus over her shoulder before running towards the cathedral.
Cyrus slowly followed behind Lisanna as he rounded the corner to see the Take Over Siblings hugging as the rain continued to fall from the sky.
Cyrus watched as the trio reunited, while he had no intention of taking any credit for this he did let a smile spread across his face. Cyrus was about to walk away so he could finally get some sleep. Although before he could start walking away he noticed that Mirajane had spotted him. The barmaid ran up to him before quickly pulling him into a hug. "Thank you Cyrus, thank you for bringing Lisanna back to us!" Mirajane through her tears as she buried her face into his shoulder.
Cyrus hesitated before slowly returning the hug. "I didn't do anything, I just told her what her options." Cyrus said before letting out a small yawn. Mirajane planted a quick kiss on his cheek before breaking the hug. "Would it kill you to just take credit for doing something nice?" Mirajane said with a small giggle. "Do you have any idea how annoying it would be if people started thinking I was going soft?" Cyrus fires back which only caused Mirajane to giggle more. "Go enjoy the moment, meanwhile I need to get some sleep." Cyrus said as he waved goodbye to Mirajane before walking away. Cyrus also felt a minor stinging in his eyes as he made his way home, but he chalked it up to emotions.
Back in Edolas
Edo-Cyrus stood with the rest of Edolas Fairy Tail as Edo-Lucy and his sister argued about the current solution to transporting the guild hall to the capital. "How the hell are we supposed to get this thing to the capital when there's no magic to power it?!" Edo-Lucy shouted as she glared at Edo-Levy. "Look I did the best with what I had, if you don't like it do it yourself bitch!" Edo-Levy shouted back as she gestured to the now mobile guild hall.
Edo-Cyrus walked in between Edo-Lucy and his little sister to stop their fighting. "Enough both of you, look whether we like it or not this is what we have to work with. Alright boys grab a rope and start pulling!" Edo-Cyrus shouted over to all the male members of the guild as he shrugged off the top part of his robes so his torso and arms were exposed.
"You can't be serious right Cyrus? This will take days to get to the capital!" Edo-Natsu said in disbelief at the Swordsman's words. "With that attitude it will! If I can survive two years of training on an island with giant monsters, then all of you will survive a few hours of pulling!" Edo-Cyrus said as all of them looked at him in shock. "What the hell has this guy been doing for two years?!" Everyone thought before the girls went back into the guild while Edo-Cyrus and the other guys began pulling the guild hall by rope. It took a few hours like Cyrus said, but they finally made it to the capital.
Edo-Cyrus dropped the rope he was holding before doing some light stretching. "Ah that was a nice morning workout!" Edo-Cyrus said as he barely broke a sweat while looking over at the other guys who had collapsed. "What are you made of?!" They all groaned in unison as they looked at the swordsman in disbelief. Eventually the girls came out and joined them. "Well looks like we made it, thanks for getting them into gear Cyrus." Edo-Lucy said as she gave him a quick smile. "I can't take all the credit, Levy designed the guild's tracks that allowed us to pull it in the first place." Edo-Cyrus said as he gently patted his little sister on the head.
Edo-Levy blushed in embarrassment at the praise given by her older brother. "T-Thanks bro." Edo-Levy said timidly as she couldn't make eye contact with her brother. "Now then, we should try and get things setup here in the capital so all of you can get back to work." Edo-Cyrus said as he put the top part of his robes back on, while his hat remained on his back. The group was interrupted by a soldier approaching them. "Apologies for the interruption Cyrus, but his majesty requests your presence at the castle!" The soldier said as he was clearly out of breath from his run over to their location.
Edo-Cyrus looked at the soldier with a curious look as he was surprised the king called him to the castle. "Tell the king forget about it! My brother is not!" Edo-Cyrus stopped Edo-Levy from continuing her angered rant. "Understood, I'll make my way over immediately." Edo-Cyrus said as the soldier nodded before running off. "Have you lost your mind?! Your going back to the place filled with people that tried to kill you?!" Edo-Levy shouted as she glared at her big brother. "Levy, I appreciate the concern, but I assure you that I can handle anything thrown at me." Edo-Cyrus said as he rested his hand on Suigin gently as he smiled at his sister.
Edo-Levy puffed out her cheeks in anger as she punched her brother in the chest. "Fine, but I'm going with you to make sure!" Edo-Levy said in an annoyed tone as she and Cyrus started walking towards the castle. "Cyrus wait!" Edo-Cyrus turned to see Edo-Mirajane run up to him before planting a kiss on his cheek. "Please be safe." Edo-Mirajane said as Edo-Cyrus nodded his head in understanding before they continued on their way. Edo-Lucy noticed a blush on Edo-Mirajane's face as a devious grin spread across her face. "You like him!" Edo-Lucy teased as Edo-Mirajane buried her face into her hands in embarrassment.
At the Castle
Edo-Cyrus and Edo-Levy entered the castle as they made their way towards the throne room. "I still say this is a bad idea." Edo-Levy grumbled as she continued to walk towards the throne room. "I highly doubt Knightwalker will be much of a threat without her magic spear. She didn't stand a chance against me when she did use it now that I think about it." Edo-Cyrus said as he gave his little sister a reassuring smile. "Thank you for coming on such short notice Silver Flash." The siblings turned to see King Mystogan along with the Holy Knights standing in front of them.
"King Mystogan, it's good to see you've finally returned to us." Edo-Cyrus said as he bowed to the king in respect. "There is no need for you to bow to me Silver Flash. I've only recently taken up my position as king." Mystogan said as embarrassment was obviously present on his face. "Now then, how may I be of service to you?" Edo-Cyrus asked as he waited for the king to answer him. "His majesty would like you to return to your position here at the castle." Knightwalker cut in as she stepped forward. "What the fuck do you mean you want him to return to his position?!" Edo-Levy roared in anger at the statement made by the former Fairy Hunter that stood in front of them.
Knightwalker sighed as she expected this response. "Without any magic it would be in the best interest of Edolas to have your brother help train our soldiers." Knightwalker said before Edo-Levy lunged forward and punched Knightwalker in the face, who didn't even try to avoid the attack. "You've got some nerve bitch! You tried to kill my brother! Took him away from me for two years and now you want him to come back?!" Edo-Levy ranted as tears pricked the corners of her eyes. Edo-Cyrus placed a hand on his sister's shoulder to stop her rage.
"Levy, it's time to move on. Both sides have wronged one another, it's time to work towards making things better." Edo-Cyrus said as his sister calmed down. "Now your majesty, I'll happily accept the position, but on one condition." Edo-Cyrus said as the king gave him a curious look. "What is your condition?" Mystogan asked as he looked at the swordsman with curiosity in his eyes. "I'll serve you and train the soldiers, but any missions I deem to difficult for the soldiers will be forwarded to the Fairy Tail Guild. Your going to need all the help you can get your majesty." Edo-Cyrus said as his sister realized what her brother was trying to do with this.
A smile spread across the new king's face as he looked Edo-Cyrus in the eyes. "Very well, I trust your judgement. It's good to have you back Silver Flash." Mystogan said before the siblings took their leave. "Gotta admit, didn't think you would pull such an underhanded move to get us business bro." Edo-Levy said with a devious smile on her face. "I fail to see what you mean little sister, people are going to need hope in this world without magic. Why not have the best give them that hope?" Edo-Cyrus said as his sister jumped on his back as he carried her back to the guild.
