XVI. Gray Fullbuster & Erza Scarlet

"The Fireworks That I felt"

- POV : Gray Fullbuster -

I was in the guild waiting for that falme headed idiot who is my friend-rival Natsu, but then...

"GRAY-SAMA~! Can we talk?"

"Uh sure Juvia. Let's go outside."

"Now what are you gonna say Juvia?"

"Well, Juvia really wanted to say to you that... I LOVE YOU!" I sweatdropped, shocked and I'm confused!

"Oh Juvia, how I''m really sorry, I like somebody else..."

"Is it my love rival? Lucy?" She growled.

"No Juvia." Do I really have to tell her?

"Then who is it Gray-sama?"

"You promise not to say it to everyone?"

"Juvia promise!"

"It's *deep sigh* Erza..."

"WHAT?!"

"Shhhshhh.... Be quiet Juvia." She nods.

"Juvia prmoise! Juvia won't tell anyone... So what about you asked her out?"

"Well, its because she likes Jellal... Even he died..."

"So, Gray-sama just try to be close to her and when she feel the same way about you, confess to her..."

"Yes, thanks for the advice Juvia, I really felt good that I've talked to someone to share my feelings that it has been in my cheest for a long time, arigato. And Lyon really likes you, you know you two have the same personalities..." I said as I walked inside.

"Arigato Gray-sama, for telling me..."

"Oh and just call me Gray.. If you have problems just come and talk to me."

"Hai!"

Good Juvia evens understand when I love somebody else evens she loves me... Now all I need to do is to wait for Erza and go on a mission with her... Alone. I walked up to Lisanna and Elfman.

"Hey! Gray!" Lisanna said.

"Hey Lisanna! Elfman!"

"Gray's a man!" He said I sweatdropped..

"Gray why are you not so happy today?"

"Well that flame head is not here and Erza, I wanted to go on a mission with her."

"To become close with her right?" Lisanna asked.

"Y-yeah... You know why, Juvia confessed to me and I said I like you know who..." I said with a blush.

"Oh Gray! I'll really want to help you. And keep me updated between you and you know who..." She winked.

"I don't know who are you two talking about now that''s a man!" We all weatdropped at Elfman, all he says is about manliness or whatever...

"Hai..." Then the doors opened.

"Oi! Flame brain! Let's finished what we fought about yesterday!"

"Neh Gray I'm not in the mood now 'cause I have to go on a mission with Lucy! Oh where is she?"

"She's over there at the bar!" I said nd he takes a request from the board and headed straight for Lucy.

"Mira! Me and Lucy will take this one! Come on Luce let's go!" He said as he grabbed Lucy's hand and went through the door.

"Bye Lucy! Have fun!" I heard Juvia shouted.

Juvia and Mira talked. Then I saw Juvia handed Mira a letter, hmm what's with that letter? I just stared at Juvia and wait for what will happen.

- TIME SKIP -

"Hey Mira, have you seen Erza?" I asked and sit beside Juvia.

"Oh she's on a S-Class mission. Don't worry she'll be back this afternoon."

"T-thanks. Can I have icy cold water?"

"Be right back."

"So Gray, when will you say it to her?" Juvia asked.

"Maybe I would invite her on a job."

"Oh. That would be great!"

"Gray here's your water and Juvia here's your letter."

"Eh? From Lyon?"

"Yup." And she began to read. After reading the letter she got up and said.

"Gray! Mira-san! I gotta go now! And Gray I wish you good luck!" Juvia said as she was running.

"Ah Gray, what does she meant good luck?" Mira asked.

"Uh nothing." I said as I put my arms in the back of my head and turn away with a tint of pink on my cheeks.

"Oh really just nothing? Does it involve anything about Erza?" She smirked. Oops I don't think I'm having fun here talking to Mira about those love discussion.

- POV : Mirajane Strauss -

I looked at Gray... Oops I slip something from my mouth!

"Gray! You didn't answer my question!" I growled showing my inner demon.

"CRAP! Mira ok I'll answer it! Just calm down!" He winced. Guess he's afraid of it.

"Now Gray, I have to ask again, why are you looking for Erza and Juvia said good luck for you?"

"I don't have any choice then, first I was looking for Erza because I want to go a job with her and second, its because, she knows that I-"

"What is it?"

He took a deep breath and said "I love Erza."

I gasped. Gray loves Erza? Now he has to cheer her up! Now that Jellal's dead! He really has a chance to get Erza's heart!

- Flashback from two days ago -

Meredy and Ultear went to the guild, carrying Jellal on their shoulders the three of them were injured.

"Minna! Help us! Jellal is seriously injured!" Ultear said.

"Jellal?!" Erza said and came to them, the whole guild stood from their seats and looked at the four figures in their front. Lucy, Natsu, Gray, Wendy and Mira came to the four of them.

"Oh my! Now the three of you go to our infirmary!" Mira ordered. They nodded and followed Mira to the infirmary.

"Lucy, Natsu and Gray leave here, Erza and Wendy follow me." They followed Mira's orders and Mira helped Ultear, Wendy helped Meredy, Erza helped Jellal.

"Erza I'm already dying. . ." Jellal whispered.

"NO! I can't let you." Erza whisper-yelled at him.

"Erza. . . I'm sorry."

"Jellal, thank you for everything."

Then Erza, Mira and Wendy put them into bed and Wendy started healing Ultear.

"Wendy please heal Jellal first..." Ultear said. Wendy nodded. And starts to heal Jellal.

"Wendy, you cannot heal me now, I'm going to lose my life even you try your best in healing me... "

"No, Jellal-san its okay... Just let me do it..." Wendy said and continue to heal Jellal, he turned to Erza.

"Erza, always be strong and protect who is dear to you, and Erza I-I love you... I will always watch over you..." Jellal said as he started to close hi eyes and he didn't breathe. He just lay there and smiled even in his death... Everyone gasped. Wendy stop healing him, she lowered her head down.

"Gomennasai minna-san... I didn't do anything to let him still alive!" Wendy said as she sobs. Mira came to her and hugged Wendy. "Wendy you did try to save him, now try saving Ultear and Meredy..." Mira comforted her.

"Yes Mira-san.,," She said as she went to Ultear and started healing her.

"Wendy it's not your fault ok, he already has his sickness from three months ago... He really didn't want to tell you all because you might be worried. He has cancer and even someone who could heal him, give him medicines, it's still useless." Ultear said. Erza began crying...

"Jellal..." She muttered.

"I'm sorry Erza..." Mira said to her.

"Uhm, excuse me, I'm going outside for some fresh air." She stepped out of the room.

"I hope Erza-san will be okay..." Wendy said.

"She will. Just give her some time alone. She needs it." Mira said. Everyone agreed.

- END OF FLASHBACK -

"Gray, you have a big chance on Erza." I said to him.

Gray sighed. "I'll try..."

-TIME SKIP-

-POV : Gray Fullbuster-

"Well, it’s so boring! Without Natsu, Lucy or Erza!” Gray groaned.

“Oh I wish Natsu and Lucy luck. And Erza? Hmmm, missing someone you love so badly huh?” Mira snickered. Gray blushed.

“Mira!” Gray exclaimed. Then Mira’s eyes looked behind at Gray. The two women who were behind him were laughing.

“Gray nii-san why didn’t you say so?” Ultear said.

“Yeah uncle! We would be glad to help you!” Meredy said.

“Oh come on!”

“Well, we like Erza and Jellal to be together but Jellal died and he doesn’t wants Erza to be alone right Meredy?”

“Right mom! You can do this uncle!” Meredy said.

“And I’m also a support for Gray and Erza.” Mira said, before Gray could say anything the doors opened.

“Minna! I’m back!” Erza shouted.

“Welcome back Erza!” They greeted back.

“Oh Meredy, Ultear, you’re already a member here? Well this is late but, welcome to Fairy Tail!l” Erza smiled.

“Arigato Erza/Erza-san!” They both said.

“Now nii-san you can do it!” Ultear said and dragged Meredy out of the door.

“What was that about Gray?” Erza asked curiously. Haha she’s cute when she’s curious about something.

“Uhhh Erza can you go on a mission with me?” I asked.

“Sure! Now get Lucy and Natsu and Happy and oh-! Also Wendy and Carla!” Erza axclaimed.

“Erza, Lucy and Natsu go on a mission earlier, Happy, Wendy  and Carla days ago.” I said.

“So meet me at the train station tomorrow at eight! Sharp! I’m going to have rest now.” She said and walked out of the guild along with Levy and Lisanna.

“Ok!” I said and then I picked a job, I gave it to Mira and approved. I go to my own apartment to pack my things.

~NORMAL POV~

Erza and the others were walking to Fairy Hills.. When they entered... They saw Juvia and she was in a hurry...

“Hey Juvia where are you going?” Levy asked.

“Juvia’s on a date with Lyon-sama!” Juvia said as she go downstairs.

“With Lyon? I thought she liked Gray?” Erza reacted.

“Oh this is the first I saw you reacted Erza.” Levy said.

“Yeah, but what exactly happened that she’s going with Lyon? Did she confessed to Gray? And he didn’t have feelings for her? And went to Lyon instead?” Lisanna said.

“I guess you’re right Lisanna.” Levy said.

“Yeah agree.” Erza said.

“So Gray likes somebody else… Hmmm. I wonder who is it.” Lisanna trying to pretend that she doesn’t know who is the girl Gray like.

“Well, I hoe we know about her soon.” Levy winked. Lisanna told her about Gray’s crush. Erza was in silence thinking deeply about something.

“Hey Erza you ok?” Levy asked.

“Uh yeah. So see you tomorrow better get some rest.” Erza said.

“Oh good night!” Levy and Lisanna said to her.

“I wonder what she’s thinking.” Lisanna said.

“Yeah, me too, maybe she just realized something.”  Levy smirked.

“You’re maybe right.” And they giggled.

THE NEXT DAY

- POV : Erza Scarlet -

I waited for Gray at the train station. It was seven-forty in the morning and he didn't arrived. Now, Juvia now is dating Lyon, Gray likes someone else, the one I loved is now dead, so... Gray? Do I even like him?

"Erza!" I heard Gray called me.

"Oh Gray! Let's go in now!" I said.

"Yes ma'am!" He said. Haha he's so cute when he's like that! What the hell Erza Scarlet are you thinking? Focus!

"Hey Gray, what's the mission?"

"Oh we need to capture a bandit who's been stealing jewels."

"Oh ok and more about the details." I asked and kept listening to him.

- TIME SKIP -

"Ok Gray since we already talked to the client and its already evening, let's stay in a inn."

"Let's go this inn."

"Good evening ma'am, sir my looks like a lovely couple here! And we don't have any single rooms available, so, a room with two beds is fine with you?" The manager said.

"We're not a couple!" Me and Gray said, blushing.

"But since you have no single rooms left, we'll take it."

- POV : Gray Fullbuster -

Oh tell me that this isn't a dream! Me and Erza in one room. Gray you are still with a room with her but-! You are not sleeping in a bed with her! Me and Erza go upstairs and unlocked our room, then we heard familar voices beside our room.

"Natsu! Can we go back now at the guild?" Lucy said.

"No! Just a few more days Lucy!" Natsu said.

"Natsu and Lucy are here?" I asked.

Then the doors next our room were opened.

"Oh hi Erza! Gray!" Lucy said nervously.

"Oi Erza! Ice brain?"

"Whaddaya call me flame brain?"

"Stop it you fools!" Erza glared at us.

"Yes ma'am!" We said in unison and Lucy giggled.

"Now, we need to talk about something." Lucy said and pulled Natsu.

"Oh or more like, doing something haha!" I laughed. Natsu and Lucy glared at me.

"A-ha-ha, hey I was joking!" 

"Yeah right!" They said and " Good night!" Ok they're mad at me.

"Gray I understand that you're jealous that they're in a special way of relationship and you don't have." Erza patted my shoulder. " Well let's go in."

"I will go to the shower Gray? Wanna join?" She asked me normally.

"Gyah!"

"I was joking Gray!" She chuckled.

"Alright Erza you go first!" She nodded. I sghed and sleep on my bed... What a day...

'- POV : Erza Scarlet -

I closed the bathroom door and turn the faucet. Ohh Erza you're such a pervert! Asking Gray to take a shower you... I then finished my bath and changed to my pajamas and headed to bed. I looked over Gray who was peacefully sleeping... And I also closed my eyes and drifted to slumber...

Then I woke up the next morning. I smelled strawberry cake, with some strawberry waffles and strawberry shake. I saw Gray who just closed the door and carrying the food that I've smelled.

"Erza! Here's your breakfast! I've decided to buy you one!" Gray blushed. Blush?

"Oh thanks Gray. Did you already have breakfast?"

"Yeah, so hurry up and we'll go to our mission." He said and got out of the room.

- TIME SKIP -

"Urrrgghhh!!! We can't just get him away easily yet! Gray!" I yelled at him while we were running after the bandit.

"I know! Wait just make me use my magic! Ice Make! Prison!" Gray chanted and the bandit was locked up. The police came.

"Thank you very much Fairy ail wizards for helping us!" The chief said.

"There's no prblem sir." I said. And the two of us walked to the train station.

"That was close. Thanks Gray." I said.

"Uhhh you're welcome Erza." Gray scratched the back of his head.

"Attention all passengers! The train to Magnolia will be cancelled for two days. So please wait for the train in two days time for you can go back there again. Thank you." The captain of the train said.

"Two days? Well we have no choice but to set foot all the way to Magnolia." I suggest.

"Ok!" Then we began to walk to the forest.

It was now sunset and we stopped in the middle of the forest and I saw a cave. I ran to it inside.

"Let's stay in here for the night, I'll find some food while you find some firewood." Gray nodded and we go to work...

- TIME SKIP -

"Ok we're all finished!" Gray said. And  I sat down and cooked some fish that I caught in the river... AWKWARD SILENCE... Then later we ate.

"Ugghh that fish was good Erza!" Gray said.

"T-thank you!" I said.

"So..."

"Uhmm Gray? Mind if I ask you,,, Do you like Juvia?" I blushed.

He scratched his chin. "About that one... I don't... Like her.... Well what about you? Do you like Jellal?" He asked.

"Uhhhm... I don't even know." I said sadly.

"Uhh let's change the topic, how about I'll tell you some ghost stories!!"

"That would be fine." Then Gray started tosay some ghost stories but I admit it, I was actually scared.!!!

"And then when Henna was in the closet..."

"Somebody scared her from behind and screamed.!" Gray was behind me and I screamed.

"Waaahhhhhhhh!!! Gray I'm scared!" I said and unexpectedly hugged him. He laughed.

"Hahha Erza there's no need to be afraid! I'm here with you!" He said as he wiped the tears at the corner of his eyes. I blushed.

"Anyways let's just sleep." He said and put me in the ground covered me with blanket and my head already had a pillow, a huge one.

"Good night."

"But Gray do you have a blanket and a pillow?" I asked.

"No, I just think about your own needs that's all." He shrugged.

"NO! Sleep beside me this instant! You may get sick if don't have rest!" I said.

"Ok fine." He followed as what I've said.

"Good night.." I yawned and I was now fast asleep.

- POV : Gray Fullbuster -

I watched Erza as she fell asleep. I smiled. She looks cute when she's like this. I kissed her forehead softly. "Sweet dreams my darling..."

The next morning. I looked up tp Erza, and when I was staring at her for the past five minutes, she woke up.

"Ohayo. Let's keep going now Erza."

"Right." We both stood up and walked again back to the guild. When we arrived at the guild, everyone was doing their everyday lives.

But many moths have passed and ever since that mision that me and Erza were together we became more closer than ever before, and there were times that I saw her sad, I came up to her and talk to her something that would get the sadness in her face. And one day, Fairy Tail's Annual Festival has come. It was early morning when I woke up. I am already Erza's date... Ahem... I mean partner for today's festival, we need to wear a Kimono. We already bought one from yeasterday. And all we need today is to prepared ourselves.

I then walked around town today to look for people on the streets busy, everyone buying everything for what they need tonight. I sighed. Fairy tail is much due to overpopularity in this continent. Then I saw Erza, buying roses. And then she walked away, but I followed her. She was going to the cathedral... I think she's going to visit Jellal.

- POV : Erza Scarlet -

Here I am standing in his grave. I haven't visited him for months. i knelt down and put flowers on his grave. I prayed. And started talking to him.

"Hey Jellal, It's been months since I last saw you. And I just wanted to visit. You know there's someone who always cares for me. And you know what the best part is? I love him and a very close friend to me. And I have to be prepare for today's festival. He's my date... Ahem.. Partner I mean.. Anyways, I hope you're happy wherever you are now."

I then go back to Fairy Hills. It was three in the afternoon and I already asked help from the other girls for me...

- TIME SKIP -

- POV : NORMAL -

It was now six o'clock. We all waited downstairs for the gentlmen to pick us up. The first one was Gajeel to pick up Levy, Laxus to Mirajane, Lyon to Juvia, Bacchus to Cana, Elfman to Evergreen, Romeo to Wendy (IKR), Natsu to Lucy. But where is Gray? Erza thought.

"Erza! It's me Gray!" Gray said who was outside the door. Erza opened it.

"Sorry I'm-" Gray stopped and looked at Erza. She waswearing violet kimono with a red flower design on it. Her hair is tied to a ribbon at the back of her head. While erza did the same to Gray. He was wearin a violet kimono and it was plain.

"Late." Gray finished.

Erza cleared her throat. "Let's go now, you look handsome Gray."

"Well you look beautiful Erza." Gray smiled Erza blushed.

"Come on!" Gray pulled her hand they started to sprint. When they arrived, they saw the town was decorated with colorful lanterns and people where everywhere, buying, enjoying and being together. Then all Fairy tail wizards were at the South Tree Park, having a picninc by pairs. Luckily Erza and Gray reserved their spot. There sat there and eat. Then minutes later the program started by a contest, of fireworks!!! each pair should pair their own fireworks with a minimum of one minutee and a maximum of three minutes.

First off was Gajeel and Levy, which lasted for a minute.

Mira and Laxus was also pretty good which lasted for three minutes.

Biscklow and Lisanna only lasted for a minute.

Evergreen and Elfman's firewroks lasted for two minutes.

Bacchus and Cana, lasted for two minutes.

Romeo and Wendy, lasted for three minutes.

Lyon and Juvia's lasted for three minutes.

Natsu and Lucy's fireworks lasted for four minutes.

But the last was Gray and Erza's fireworks. It was beautiful. Shapes of swords was dancng in the air while Gray's ice creation was blowing like a geyser and swirling. People wer amazed to watch this. And their fireworks lasted for four minutes also.

"And the winners are!!! Gray Fullbuster and Erza Scarlet!!!" Master announced. erza hugged Gray and they go to the stage. Then it was people's turn to show off some fireworks. While they enjoyed watching it. Back to Gray and Erza...

They were sitting on the picnic mat. And clinging onto each other while watching fireworks. Then Gray looked at Erza and Erza looked to Gray.

"Hey Erza what's the matter?"

"If only Jellal will see this..."

Gray puts his thumb to her chin. "I'm sure he saw it. Don't be sad Erza, I'm always here for you."

Erza's eyes started to tear up. "Gray..."

"I always love you Erza, I iwshed for you to feel the same way I did."

"And it really does. I love you too, Gray." Erza smiled. Then Gray kissed her and she kissed back.

Under the night sky filled with fireworks, their wishes had come true.
