Faces in a Crowd
She meanders down the busy sidewalk,
Without a destination or a purpose today.
People speed past her, vaguely annoyed that she's not going with the flow of traffic.
She pauses her train of thought to observe the faces in the crowd.
Glimpses of their lives flash before her eyes,
Each one intricately detailed and complex,
No two stories seem to be the same.
She looks to her right and notices a coffee shop.
She walks inside, the aroma of the roasted beans filling her with a sense of calm.
She orders a london fog and sits down at the small table in the corner,
Pulling out her laptop from her bag.
She takes a moment to ponder the event that had just taken place,
And begins to write.
