10:Ash Bells Ring
Log Date: 1549. Busy, can't write. Incidents are more frequent, currently dealing with one. Maybe if I had been more careful with my studies, we wouldn't have lost a subject so early into the experiment. It's not even been two weeks. I should be more careful. Note to self:Travel Overground to get Fire Extingushers and better medical supplies.
Narritive P.O.V:
No one noticed until Marshmellow began to emit a high pitched shriek. "Guys.....Guys! I'm smoking, I'm smoking! Guys?!" She yelled. Only Lightbulb noticed. Paintbrush, Test Tube, and Fan were still arguing over safety and Humanity. Lightbulb, who was much louder than all of them except Paintbrush yelled. It was a loud sound, that made everyone freeze except Marshmellow who now had a small flame on her. "Guys, Marsh is burning?!" She motioned to Marshmellow, who was trying to pat it out. Paintbrush stood staring in horror, Test Tube had darted out the door, running down the dark hallway to try and find a fire extinguisher. Fan kept yelling at her to drop to the floor and roll around, but Marshmellow's high pitch shrieking made her unable to hear him. Lightbulb ran out after Test Tube.
Test Tube's P.O.V:
I can't believe I was so careless! I was more intrigued at interaction, I completely forgot about abilities! Now Subject 4 is on fire. I need to find a Fire extinguisher quickly. I hear footsteps following me, and turn around. There behind me was Lightbulb. I was just as surprised to see her as she was surprised she was caught. I stared at her, then yelled "Don't just stand there! Go check the medical ward!" She nodded and sprinted off in the opposite direction. I ran into the mechanical repair room, hoping to find something, anything! Nothing. If It wasn't here, and wasn't in the medical ward, she's hopeless. Hopefully Lightbulb finds something....
Lightbulb's P.O.V:
Stars....this isn't good. I only have a few minutes. I hate time limits. I reach the room, fighting with the door to get it open. Forget this... I kick the door down. It was easy since the door was quite old. I burst into the medical room. It still reaks of blood and heavy scent of dirty cotton. I dig around the drawers, the cabinets, and check the floor. Nothing. "No...." I mutter quietly. "No, no, no, no, no, no!" I grabbed onto the side of a cot to keep myself steady. She's certainly going to die now. And It's my fault. My fault for having a stupid fear, my fault for driving her crazy, my fault for bringing her here....It's all my fault. I-.....I-..... I still have one promise to keep up. I can't disappoint Paintbrush again. I guess I'll just have to face defeat... I climb over the dropped boxes and drawers, and out the door. But not before I take a shard of metal, and stab myself in the arm with it. I grab a cotton swab, and then run down to Room 21.
Marshmellow's P.O.V:
I'm burning....I'm burning! Oh....Someone help me! Where did Test Tube and Lightbulb even go?! I try to pat the fire out, but the excessive patting just makes the fire spread up my arm. I hate this burning feeling....bad memories ensue.
"Jeez Apple, I thought after months of being isolated on Idiotic Island, you'd be warmed up to Marshmellow by now" O.J remarked. As I began to walk away, she grabbed me, holding her arm around my neck. I struggled against her, since she was choking me. She grabbed a lit match and held it above my head. "Oh, I'll warm her up alright!" She yelled as she dropped the match onto my head. I screamed, and O.J dumped a cup of water on my head. I hyperventilated , trying to calm down from the situation. O.J turned to Apple. "You know the rules Apple." He stated. "No fires in the Hotel!" He looked past Apple, and noticed Balloon spraying Paint onto the wall. "Hey! Quit Vandilizing the Hotel!" He yelled, shoving Apple aside and running towards Balloon. I stared up at Apple. We locked eyes for a brief moment, then I ran away.
Her smiling face popped back in my head. "Hey Marshmellow! I drew us!" She said, holding up a small doodle of us holding hands. The only problem was that the names were spelled wrong. "That's nice Apple" I said. "But you spelled our names wrong" She facepalmed, and crumpled the drawing up. "Oh, not again!" Me and Apple were just sitting on the lawn of Purgatory Mansion. The moon was full, so Bow and Dough were out somewhere scaring people. We were stargazing. "These are pretty" Apple said, pointing up to the stars. "What are they?" She asked me. This would be a better question for T3#5 57/e, but I decided to answer it. "Well Apple, those are stars. Big pretty balls of flaming ice, rocks, and gas." "How come they're so big if they look so small?" Apple asked. "It's perspective" I replied once again. "What's Perspective mean?" She asked, clearly still confused. "Perspective means the way you see something. With your eyes, or with your heart" I stared at her, hoping she'd understand. She clapped her hands together, though it took her awhile. "Ooooh! I get it." She flopped back down onto the grass. "Then the perspective of my life is perfect." "Why's that?" I asked jokingly. "Because I have Purgatory, Bow, Dough, and you!" She said, smiling at me.
I'll never see her again.....this is how I die. I realized that while I was remembering, Fan had starting screaming at me. "DROP! DROP! YOUR LOWER TORSO IS BURNING!" He screamed. I looked down. There was the fire. It has spread down my arm, and up to my middle. Then came the searing heat. I instantly began to shriek from the pain. The room was growing blurry. Fan was becoming quieter. Paintbrush was standing over me, their face blurred from heat. "I-....I'm sorry, Marsh" They said, tears resting on their cheeks. I felt the searing heat reach up to my face. It was unlike anything I've ever felt. It hurt worse than Apple "betraying" me, It hurt worse than the voices words, it was horrible. I shrieked as loud as I could, hoping atleast someone could help me. But I couldn't see, I couldn't hear. My voice grew horse, or ran out, because next thing I know....It's dark and quiet.
Paintbrush's P.O.V:
I have done this to her. I did nothing but watch her shriek, and watch her burn with the fire I made. I made that fire, I made her fate. Actually, I didn't make her fate. Test Tube did. She may have put us here to die, but I know I'm going to live. I have to. I have to get out of here, before someone else dies. I felt a sharp sting, and then noticed tears streaming down my face. Silently. The echo of Marsh's final scream still echoed around. All that was left a small fire, burning her remains. Fan was far enough away to not catch fire, but still sobbing. I knew Marsh was his favorite, so this must be hard on him. I turned around, hoping he hadn't seen me crying. Crying is a form of weakness....and the last thing I need is to be weak again.
I was sitting down, smiling. Trophy, one of the newest contestants, walked by me. He stopped, looked at me, and smirked. "Hey Gender freakshow, What's with the smile?" I glance up at him. "Huh?" I asked. "You're smiling like an idiot. It makes you look stupid, you know. Just like the idiot you call a Team Captain." I stood up. "She's not an idiot, she's my friend!" I said loudly, trying to control my temper. "Think about it Gender, she really is. She can't find her way out of a paper bag, she eats literally anything, and is only concerned about holding power. Sounds like a tyranted idiot to me" He said, smirking. I look over at Lightbulb. She has a paper bag on her head, and was struggling to get it off. I realized how incompetent she was as a leader. I realized that she rubbed off on me. If she was weak like that...then I was too. "Looks like I made my point. Maybe you should do the leading for her" Trophy said as he walked away.
So I listened. And that got me along just fine. Now someone has died for that method. I wonder where Lightbulb is now.
Lightbulb's P.O.V:
I stopped in front of Room 21. I heard a horrible shrieking noise. I cringed, Marshmellow. I took the cotton swab, placed it on my arm, which was rapidly bleeding, and began to write. It took only a few swatches of blood to finish, but it worked. I noticed I had stopped bleeding too. I stood back and looked at my work. The door read "Panic Attack". The "paint" had begun running down the door, as anyone's blood would. I took a shaky breath and walked inside. Fan was sobbing in front of a dying fire. It was burning off of ashes. Probably Marsh's. I looked at Paintbrush. Clearly from their shaking, they were crying too. I shut the door and heard it lock behind me. No one seemed to care. I walked over to my corner, and put my head on my knees. I waited to start crying, but I didn't. I just felt....numb. Why? I heard the door unlock, and Test Tube stepped in behind me.
Test Tube's P.O.V:
I gasped seeing the door. Someone had written "Panic Attack" in blood. It must've been Lightbulb, since no one else was out here with me. I wonder how she even began bleeding. No matter...I heard the shriek. Marshmellow was dead. Be sure to log that down later. I slowly put the key in the door and unlocked it. In the middle of the room was just a glowing pile of ashes. Most likely what remains of Subject 4. 3 was sobbing, and a part of me longed to comfort him. But there was no way I could. It's been too long for me to remember. 2 was shaking in their corner, so they were either Traumatized or crying. Probably both. 1....wasn't crying. She was staring numbly at the ceiling. How...odd. I left them to their state, and locked the door back behind me as I left. I walked back into my office and dimmed the lights early. They deserve sleep, especially after this. Maybe I'll keep the food drops for a little while longer.
(A/N: OoF. This hurt me to write, and it took ages. But it's complete. Hope you enjoyed, despite the first death. Sorry to any Marshy fans *No pun intended, I'm sorry that came out wrong*)
