Chapter 32: Reality
-the next morning-
-------TRIGGER WARNING------
Izuku POV
I feel myself coming down from whatever the hell they had given me. My head was pounding. I was looking at my feet. Shigiraki had come in and out through the night to pull each of my fingernails and toenails, over and over and over and OVER. My nails grew back black and purple from the damage. I focused on the scars that now wrapped around the base of my toes. I can't take this. The pain and the voices are too much. I don't know what's real anymore.
At some point through the night, a new quirk manifested. I don't know if it's because of whatever the hell they did to my body or what, but the pain wasn't as bad as before.
"How many even is that now?" I ask myself. I didn't think there was anyone else in the room.
"You should have 11 by now." The sudden voice made me flinch. I looked up to see a man in a suit standing by the door. He had a heavily deformed face with tubes and other medical gear attached to his face.
"Wh-who are you?" My voice was still scratchy from the nights events.
The man stepped forward. "I am All For One. You have been created to be my ultimate weapon."
My eyes went cold. "So you're the reason this all happened." I said coldly. The man nodded. "Tch." I turned my gaze back to the ground.
"You will fight alongside me, or face the consequences." I didn't move.
"Why would I ever help you?" I said calmly. "What more can you possibly do to me?"
He pushed me back into the chair, forcing me to look at his eyeless face. In a low, menacing voice he said, "You have only just begun to feel pain. I will make you suffer." His voice sent a shiver down my spine. I can't submit to him. I might not be a hero, but I damn sure won't become one of them.
"Go to hell." I spat. He smirked. In an instant, he threw me across the wall, the chair breaking on impact. I felt splinters dig deep into my skin. I let out a grunt of pain. I tried to stand, chains wrapping around my arms and legs. I balanced myself against the wall, trying to stay awake. Suddenly, black spikes flew from the other side of the room. I didn't react fast enough and was hit by the spikes. Two spikes dug into my shoulders and a larger one into my stomach, pinning me to the wall. I coughed up blood, choking on it as I tried to breathe. I wheezed as I looked up to this new man.
"That new upgrade of yours doesn't make you immortal, just hard to kill." He quickly wrapped a hand around my throat, clenching his hand tight. I gasped for air, shakily trying to lift an arm. He noticed and smashed my arm into the wall. I felt the bones crack causing me to cry out again. All For One summoned another spike, piercing through my forearm, pinning my arm away from my face. "You know what that means?" He asked mockingly. "I can keep you on the brink of death for as long as I want. You won't ever be free." I felt a tear escape my eye. He let out a small laugh and let go of my throat. I gasped for air.
He started to walk away. "Oh, and just so you know Seven. You're new enhancement won't heal you if the wound is obstructed. Have fun bleeding out." He closed the door hard, making the room shake slightly. He left me slumped against the wall, hanging from the spikes protruding from my body.
"Why?" I choked out. "W-why me?" I cried silently to myself. Trying to stay strong. Trying to stay sane. Trying to stay awake.

3rd POV
"The location has been confirmed and we have a warrant. We go in at 9. Collect your students and meet here." Nezu handed Aizawa a paper and he ran off, adrenaline pumping through his body.
He gathered his students and met at the location. The heroes that had been mentioned in the meeting before were all standing outside of the police station. They were briefed of the situation and given a basic map of the building and information on the villains involved. The students read over the information, absorbing everything. They were filled with determination.
Everyone was dispersed and sent to their stations. The location that they were about to raid was an old building on the outskirts of the city. Nothing stood out about the building and could be easily missed if you weren't looking closely. It was set up to look like a bar, nothing out of the ordinary.
"We move in 5 minutes." Aizawa said, talking into a small ear piece.
"Yes sir." His students responded. They were all serious and focused. He felt some pride seeing them so prepared.
The five minutes passed. "Let's go."

Izuku POV
I looked at the floor, trying to focus on my breathing, thinking about what All For One said. I don't think any of my injuries will heal if there is an obstruction. I felt the bruise around my throat still there, confirming my theory. Is this going to kill me? I looked to my wrists realizing I still had my quirk cancelling cuffs on. What did he mean upgrade? Was it from all those doctor's tests? What did they do to me?
My thoughts began to race, but I was cut of by a loud explosion somewhere in the building. I heard voices and yelling. I growled trying to hold back tears. I can't take the voices anymore. This isn't real. I closed my eyes, listening to the commotion.
"It's not real. It's not real. It's not-" I began to cough, struggling to breathe due to the bruise on my neck and the gaping hole through my abdomen. I felt blood push out of the wound as I coughed, making the floor around me wet.
I slipped in the blood, by body weight pulling against the spikes, shooting new pain through my body. "AHHHAH-ahhHHHHhH!!" I yelled. "Fuck!" I felt my frustration start to bubble to the surface.
The voices grew louder. I heard Zawa. Ururaka. Kirishima. Shoto. Kaminari. Kacchan.... Tears fell down my face. "No no no no! Stop it. Stop talking. It's not real. It's not real. It will go away. Just like they always do. They will go away." I started mumbling to myself. My voice breaking in between sobs.
----------
Aizawa POV
We broke through the building, breaking off into teams. Todoroki, Ururaka, Kirishima, Kaminari, and Bakugo ran through the building with me. We followed the commotion, taking down villains as we went. We ran into Shigiraki. I was not letting him get away. Before he could react, Bakugo release his AP shot at the villain. Hitting him in the arm. His explosions shook the building.
Without hesitation, Ururaka dove forward, touching the villains hands quickly and jumping back. Risky. His hands floated up and was soon covered in ice. His hands pulled away, keeping him from disintegrating the ice. Tch. Smart. I'll scold them later. We ran forward, trying to find any sign of Izuku when Ururaka suddenly stopped.
"Do you guys hear that?" She said quietly. We all listened. After a second we understood. There was a the low hum of a voice coming from the room infront of her. I walked forward and tried the handle. Locked.
"Kirishima, break it down." He nodded, swiftly knocking down the door revealing a small figure slouched against the wall. The stench of blood and chemicals hit us as the door fell open.
"Oh shit." Kaminari said quietly, holding a hand to his nose. They froze as they saw their friend. He was slouched against the wall with spikes holding him onto the wall. His head hung limply, the shaved side of his head was red and looked to be badly infected. Blood was pooling beneath him, covering his bare chest and arms. His white hair was chopped, dirty and stained red. There were chains twisting around him, pinching at his skin and attaching at his wrists and ankles. I felt myself tear up. He was mumbling to himself. At least he is alive.
We walked towards him slowly, he didn't seem to be fazed by the sound of the door falling, but shot his head up at the sound of our footsteps. He looked furious at us.
"Izuku." I said softly.
"No! You're not here! I can't do this! I know this isn't real! JUST FUCKING GO AWAY!" He broke out into sobs. He was wincing from the pain. I took another step towards him, reaching my hand out. He tried to flinch away, but was held in place by the spikes, his open wounds harshly pulling against them. "AHHhHH-hhHH!" He yelled, falling limp again. "D-don't. I-i can't take this a-anymore. I c-" He was cut off by coughing. Blood fell from him mouth and wounds. I can't let him stay like this.
"Izuku." I kneeled forward, trying to catch his eyes. "Izuku we are real. We're here." I lightly placed my hand on his cheek. He jumped at the touch, whipping his head to look at me.
"Wh-wh-h-how?" He looked around the room, just now seeming to understand we were all there. "B-but... I-I don't underst-stand." His gaze shifted to Bakugo and his breath hitched. The color drained from his face as if he had seen a ghost.
"He is real. He's not dead." I motioned for Ururaka, Kirishima and Bakugo to pull the spikes out. With Ururaka's zero gravity, they were easy to pull out. Izuku slumped forward. I caught him in my arms as he groaned in pain. He had a gaping hole through his stomach and shoulders. They immediately started to close, the tissue weaving together slowly. Too slowly. I took off my jacket and tied it around the wound.
I looked at my son. He was watching Bakugo, not convinced that he was actually here. He lifted an arm towards him. Bakugo understood and kneeled down next to him, grabbing Izuku's hand as he sat. Izuku's breath caught. "Y-y-you're alive?" He said softly. His words dripped with pain and sorrow. I could tell he had been blaming himself.
"I'm alive Izuku. I'm here." Bakugo had been silent most of the day and in this moment he broke down. Tears started falling from his face as he held Izuku's hand. Izuku gave him a small smile.
"We need to get him out of here." Todoroki spoke up. I nodded, standing up with Izuku in my arms. He let out a small groan of pain.
"W-wait. N-no." He said, stopping everyone in their tracks. "A-all For O-one will k-kill you guys." He was struggling to keep his eyes open. I held him close.
"It'll be ok. All Might is fighting him now. He won't hurt you or anyone else again." Izuku seemed to relax slightly at this information, not 100% convinced.
"Let's go." Ururaka said. Her eyes were puffy and red as she looked at Izuku. He laid limply in my arms.
We ran through the halls again, passing a frozen Shigiraki on the way back. Izuku saw him and weakly flipped off the villain as we passed. I chuckled, happy that he was still him.
We got out to the light. The scene was swarming with reporters, paramedics, and bystanders. I noticed the rest of the class among them, pushing to get through.
"Izuku!" They screamed, running past the barrier. An officer yelled at them, I let him know it was ok. I set Izuku down on the back of an ambulance as they checked out his wounds. He seemed so detached from the situation, like he hasn't realized what's happening yet.
They gingerly removed my jacket as the class gathered. Izuku was swaying slightly where he sat, probably light headed from the blood loss. He winced as the jacket pulled away from the healing skin. I was shocked to see the wound closed up, well, kind of. There was no skin yet, but the muscle fibers had grown back. The class gasped as well as a few bystanders and reporters. They started filming Izuku and I lost it. I began yelling at them to back off. They angrily went to a different part of the scene.

3rd POV
Izuku winced as the paramedics covered his wound. The boy was still foggy on what was going on. Everything seemed so bright and noisy, it made his head hurt. He went to touch his head, when his hand was pulled back down by a paramedic, he gave them a weird look.
"We need to clean your tattoo. It's infected." The small boy lowered his head. The paramedic started cleaning the wound as he realized his classmates were there. He watched them all, not responding to anything they said.
"Is it really you guys? I-i'm not just seeing things?" Izuku asked. His classmates gave him a small smile. Bakugo stepped forward. Izuku gasped seeing him, they boy he thought he got killed. "K-kacchan." He stuttered. He lunged forward, practically falling into the blonde's arms.
"I got you Izuku." He said softly, holding the crying boy in his arms.
"I-I'm so s-sorry. Y-y-you died a-and it w-was all my fault!"
"No no no. Izuku, I'm ok. I never died. I'm here." He pulled back from the hug, the two were now looking eye to eye. Tears filled both of their eyes.
"B-but I s-saw-"
"It was a trick. They wanted you to think I died so they could hurt you." Izuku fell quiet, understanding how they were able to use that against him.
"I missed you. E-everyday." Izuku said. The red eyes infront of him flickered. Bakugo cupped the boys face.
"I missed you too." He said with a smile. Everyone came in close, giving Izuku hugs and shedding their tears. Hizashi found the group and ran over, smothering Izuku in a giant hug. The groups joy was cut short when there was a loud bang off in the distance. The small screen inside the ambulance clicked on, showing the fight between All Might and All For One. Izuku's breath caught at the sight of the man who had threatened him.
"GIVE UP VILLAIN!" All might shouted.
"You're weak All Might. You don't shine a light to my power."
The two lunged towards each other, throwing devastating blows. They fought, throwing their quirks at one another. All Might had smoke rising from his body.
"That can't be good." Izuku said nervously as bandages were slowly being wrapped around his chest.
"All Might isn't looking so good." Kaminari said behind him, earning a few scared nods from the class.
"Not bad pest, but you're past you're prime. Let's see how you do against my weapon." An evil cackle echoed through the speakers.
Izuku felt his heart drop, he spun around quickly to see Bakugo and his parents looking at him scared. He was about to say something when he began to cough, a grey sludge coming from his mouth, teleporting him away.
"NO! IZUKU!" Bakugo and Aizawa sprung forward trying to grab him. Izuku's arm was outstretched, reaching for one of them, but they were too late.
"NO!" They screamed. Everyone was shocked from what just happened. The sound of coughing on the screen caught their attention.
"Izuku." Bakugo said in a whisper. The small boy appeared on the screen, falling to his knees coughing. The rattling of his chains echoed through the area. All For One reached down, grabbing Izuku by his hair. He let out a grunt of pain, his hands flying to his head.
"YOUNG MIDORIYA!" All Might shouted. He made eye contact with the white haired boy, he looked so much more beat up and tired than the last time they met.
"All M-might!" Izuku yelled, trying to get out of the grip of the villain.
"Nu-uh Number Seven. Remember what I said." He whispered into Izuku's ear. His eyes grew wide with fear. The boy was thrown forward, barely able to catch himself. "Now fight the symbol of peace and destroy him."
Izuku looked terrified. Thoughts racing through his head. "I-i can't." He stuttered.
"Do you want your friends to die?" He asked, trying to push the young boy to his breaking point.
"No." He said quietly.
"Then fight!"
"NO!" The ground shook with his words. Green sparks danced around the quirk cancelling handcuffs. He stood up slowly, the cuffs snapping off of his arms and legs. All Might, looked shocked at the sight, took a step back, as did All For One. As the cuffs hit the ground, the green electricity erupted around the boy, his left eye glowing with the current. The burst of energy pushed the two men back a few feet. He gave the villain a cold and emotionless stare. The sound of cracking lightning filling their ears. The air grew thick as Izuku's expression hardened to one of pure hatred. His dark presence seemed to paralyze anyone who laid eyes on him.
"Quirk 10: Glitch." He said coldly. His body glitching like a computer screen. He disappeared and reappeared behind All For One, kicking him hard in the side. The man was sent flying into the rubble, green sparks lingering where Izuku's foot made contact.
"Quirk 11: Copy." Suddenly, Izuku duplicated in a line, four copies of him walking in unison. The one on the farthest end lifted a hand and spoke.
"Quirk 7: Gravity control." The boy flipped his hand, the villain grunted, his medical gear cracking under the weight.
All For One struggled against the weight. "You fool! Do you want them all to die?!" Izuku ignored his tormentor. His only focus was ending the man infront of him.
"Quirk 4: Telekinesis." The version of Izuku on the opposite side lifted up rubble, flinging it at high speeds towards the man. All For One lifted his arm to use a quirk.
"Quirk 9: Erasure." The Izuku on the inside left said. His eyes glowing white. The rubble slammed into the villains body, breaking on impact. The Izuku who had used telekinesis, floated over the quirk cancelling handcuffs that had previously been on him, handing them to the Izuku that had yet to speak.
"Quirk 5: Elemental control." He rushed to the villain who was struggling against the heavy gravity, snatching his wrists and pulling them behind his back. The boy bent the metal around the mans wrists, clasping the cuffs on him. He jumped back, now controlling the chains. The gravity on All For One switched. He was not lightly floating in the air as the chains tightly wrapped around him, choking him slightly. The gravity was released and the man fell to the ground. He let out a groan.
Izuku's copies blended together, becoming one. He walked towards the villain that had caused him so much pain and looked at him coldly. With a swift movement, Izuku slammed a fist down, breaking the equipment around the mans head.
"Quirk 6: Energy control." He held his arms out above the man. He took a breath and let big bolts of electricity hit the man where he laid. His anger and frustration taking over his actions. He released the energy and took a step back. The man laid there coughing.
"Well played Seven." Izuku scowled at the man.
"My name is Izuku." He spat back. He looked up to see officers flooding the scene. It was only then that Izuku realized how fatigued he was. He stumbled slightly, his head pounding in pain. He moved away from the commotion, leaning against a crumbling wall. Another pulse of pain shot through his head.
"ARRHHG!" He grunted. He fell to the ground. He could feel himself glitching, moving slightly around where he sat. He leaned his head back on the concrete, watching the scene unfold. He was glitching where he sat, observing everything. He watched as All Might's true form was revealed and All For One was carried away.
"I hope I did the right thing." He said weakly. His eyes began to grow heavy.
"Izuku!" A voice pulled him from the darkness. "Izuku!" He blinked a few times. He felt himself surrounded by a patch of bright flowers. They grew up the broken wall, acting as a signal for his location amongst the carnage. "Izuku!" The voice called again.
"Kacchan." He whispered, giving the boy a soft smile. He coughed a little, blood speckling the inside of his hand as he covered his mouth. He looked at his hand. "K-kacchan." He said again, turning to face his boyfriend. "I d-don't know if my body can h-handle th-this." Bakugo sat next to the boy and pulled him close.
"Hey, hey. Don't talk like that. You're going to be ok." Bakugo was trying his best to sound strong, but his voice was filled with fear. "I just got you back. Y-you're not going anywhere, ok?"
Izuku let out a small defeated laugh and a cough. "I don't k-know if I have a ch-choice." A tear escaped Izuku's eye. Bakugo held the boy tighter. The blonde boy noticed paramedics a few feet away, shouting at them to come over. To Bakugo's disapproval, a camera crew followed, broadcasting the small boy on every screen.
Images of Izuku laying on a bed of flowers, crying silently as he held the boy he loved were shown throughout the city. The paramedics pushed past reaching for the boy. Bakugo reluctantly passed him to them. Izuku was placed on a stretcher and they moved back towards the crowd.
"Izuku!" Aizawa and Hizashi shouted. They ran over to their son.
"H-hi dad, Papa." He coughed lightly, holding a hand out for them to grab.
"Izu it's going to be ok." Hizashi said, tears falling down his face.
"You're not allowed to die problem child." Aizawa was full on crying. The emotionless Pro broke down as he watched his son lay there in pain.
"It'll b-be ok." Izuku said quietly. His voice barley above a whisper.
"We have to get him to the hospital." One of the paramedics said. The three nodded. Bakugo fighting until he was let into the ambulance.
Izuku heard the beeping of machines around him. The voices of the people around him were distant. He winced in pain as he felt another quirk trying to manifest.
"N-no." He groaned. "I c-can't do an-nother one." He struggled to breathe as his heart began to beat faster. Izuku's sight went in and out, the world turning into a strobe light. The flickering lights sent him in a seizure.
"Shit! We have to stabilize him!"
"Izuku! Listen to my voice! Focus on me!" Izuku shifted his head slightly, trying to place the voice.
"Stay with us." The voices started to fade.
"Izuku!" His eye grew heavy.
"Be strong." The world went dark.
