Chapter Five

Althea awoke to find herself in the middle of an old bunker. She hadn't remembered when they got there all she did remember was being kidnapped by demons. Then Ezra takes over, and after that nothing. This was the second time that day that Ezra was in control of her body. She grunted at the pain in her shoulder. Looked over to see why she was in so much pain and saw a gash that was so big she was surprised that it didn't kill her.

"Althea?" Abigail said. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine but what's with my shoulder?" Althea asked.

"You and Ezra were stabbed back at the old mill, we got here about an hour ago," Abigail explained. "Now let me see that wound." Althea sat up removing her hand from her shoulder. The wound wasn't as bad as it was before, however, the way it looked it seemed that Ezra wasn't as strong to take control at the moment and that he'd been saving the rest of his energy to heal. "Yeah that looks bad."

"No shit Sherlock, I'm glad you can point out the obvious." Althea responded sarcastically. Abigail chuckled before reaching for Althea's wound, suddenly electricity sprung from her finger tips as it touched Althea. The pain exploded in Althea's shoulder as she cried out. Abigail pulled away her hand, still smoking from the painful electricity. "What was that?"

"I don't know..." Abigail said. "That's never happened before, here let me try again." Abigail reached for Althea's shoulder as another wave of electricity hit. It was so bright that the lightbulbs throughout the bunker exploded. Althea cried out only for Ezra to quickly take over. Althea's eyes going blue, the pain was still going on. Ezra flinched as the pain eventually subsided revealing a well stitched wound and a new power surge going throughout Althea's body and toward him.

"What the hell?" Ezra said surprised. "Abigail what did you do?"

"I don't know— I just touched you and suddenly the wound is healed." Abigail was freaking out. Ezra stood and paced around the room the way that Abigail healed him and Althea made him wonder. "Nothing's wrong with me right?"

Ezra stared at Abigail for a long while before finally answering. "I think I know what you are, I wasn't sure at first but now everything is starting to make sense, from you and Althea meeting, to us facing off Mammon," Ezra explained. "Abigail, I believe that you are a virtue. As in a fifth level angel. They're known as healers, we don't have many of those left."

Abigail didn't know what to say. "So I healed you?"

"Have you guys learned of the Ingredients yet?" Ezra asked "I need to know."

"Yes, Ezra," Peter rolled his eyes. "We worked through it. Learned that they need first, a blade touched by celestial blood which by the way, was you. Next they need the blood of a traitor so someone who betrayed them and stepped out. But the issue is Alex left and so did I so we don't exactly know who they're after. They also need an angel healer one that can heal any angel they touch. Lastly they need Althea as the conduit, she can hold Lucifer's angelic essence."

"That is not happening," Ezra exclaimed. "Althea is not going anywhere, not as long as I'm around."

Peter glared daggers at him like he'd touched a soft spot. Sensing the tension between the two, Abigail volunteered herself to scout around the bunker's perimeter while the two talked. Peter turned back to the table and sat down reading through the old grimoire. Abigail excused herself and stepped out of the bunker leaving Ezra and Peter alone.

Peter continued to distract himself. Ezra sighed and sat across from him.

"Okay what's the deal?" Ezra asked. "Why are you suddenly getting defensive?" Peter ignored him. "Hello? Earth to Peter!"

"What?!" Peter exclaimed. The vein in his forehead throbbed. "Don't get all talkative now, all because your new conduit is in danger." Peter shoved the grimoire forward.

"So that's what this is about," Ezra replied, pushing his chair back. "You're still mad at me for leaving you aren't you?"

Peter stayed silent. Ignoring Ezra all together. Peter remembered everything like it was yesterday.

Peter was nineteen when Ezra cut him off as a conduit. He'd come from a terrible background with parents who were abusive. And no matter where he went kids would always pick on him calling him the angel radio. No one believed him when he explained to them that Ezra was real and that they joined. It worked at first. Sometimes Ezra would take over a random stranger and pretend to be a real human rather than an angel. But as soon as Ezra left the bullying would continue.

It got to a point where he couldn't handle it anymore. He dropped out of school. Ignored his parents and always bounced from place to place any time he would run away, and his parents would act like they were worried the second he stayed further away.

"Peter, don't you think this is a little excessive?" Ezra asked him mentally.

"No, if my parents or anyone else in this shithole doesn't believe me then I'm not going to waste my time staying in a place no one wants me." Peter replied.

Days went on, this time Peter stumbled across a young woman. At the time she was wearing black clothes, black lipstick, and even some strange pendant that was an upside down cross. Peter thought that it was simply just a woman going through her gothic phase however, alarm bells rang and Ezra knew something was wrong. The woman kept talking about the Servants of evil. She talked about resurrecting Lucifer which worried him and she also did strange blood rituals.

"Peter, we need to stop this," Ezra warned. "Don't trust her!"

"Excuse me," Peter smiled and stepped away. "Ezra quit it! I'm trying to go on a date." He gestured to the picnic in the middle of the forest.

"This is not a date, listen to yourself! She's a witch! If you want to continue to be a conduit, you'll have to stop this, I mean who has a picnic out in the middle of the forest?" Ezra replied. However, as Peter turned back to the girl who he learned was Jayden, she was right in front of him. "Peter—"

Jayden leaned in and kissed him. It was a passionate kiss; Ezra could barely even control Peter. A strange energy source spread throughout his body and Ezra tried to keep it away only for the strange energy to kick him out completely. Peter cried out as he pushed Jayden away and collapsed on the ground.

"That wasn't my fault," Ezra explained. "You met that witch and you decided to kiss her, I had no choice but to leave you."

"You could have stayed!" Peter exclaimed and turned toward Ezra in a firey pit of anger. He shoved Ezra back. Despite him being inside of Althea. "You left me alone! In pain on that dirt!"

"I was doing the will of heaven!" Ezra yelled back. "Once a conduit is tainted, I can't possess them anymore! I get forcibly ejected!"

"Now here you are!" Peter's face turned bright red. "Inside of another conduit, teaching someone else than what you've taught me. Now here we are again, putting Althea in danger, you have no consideration. Some angel you turned out to be."

"Peter, I did what I had to do, please—" Ezra begged.

"Shut up!" Peter exclaimed. "I'm done talking. I'm going to check the car." Peter stormed off and out of the bunker making his way toward the car.
