Prologue
Every story, every Hero, every villain, began somewhere - rose from something. Valentine's story began the day she fled from the castle, believing never to return.
I have meet many heroes, and had my fair share of villains. None were as complicated as Valentine. To understand her, we will have to go back to the events leading up to her story.
It started like so many other tales...

Once upon a time...
A very long time ago, a child was born. A royal child - a princess. The little girl was given the name Valentine.
Valentine was beautiful, charming. Everywhere she went, people loved her. Though, as she went to grow older, a mischievous glint started to gleam in her eyes and she went from being a delightful, loving person, to a manipulative and cunning woman.
She hungered for power and longed to feel the golden throne under her, see her kingdom bow down before her. Ambitious and voracious, her dreams stretched far beyond that of a normal person, and what thy should desire.
She matured and was taught the business of running a kingdom. Every day her royal powers grew, until she knew she was stronger than both the King and the Queen.
However, she waited and bided her time. For that she had plenty of, and knew there was no need to hurry on the process of what was already promised her. She was a royal, and a royal knew when the time was right.
Then, the King and Queen gave birth to another child. A prince. Valentine didn't worry much, she was still the rightful heir to the throne.
A war suddenly broke out, two mighty realms in a struggle, and the peace in Valentines land was broken. With the war, the kingdom started to fall apart and with that, her plans alike. Along with the war, came the winter, and without the necessary resources the people wouldn't survive unless a swift decision was made.
Desperate for a way to help the kingdom, her father, the King, went to negotiate with a neighboring country untouched by the war.
As a way to unite the kingdoms, they decided to engage their children, daughter and son.
Valentine was outraged. She refused to share her kingdom with an arrogant, pompous prince.
As soon as her father and mother delivered the news, she started to scheme.
One night, when the Queen and King was asleep, she snuck into their room with a silver dagger.
Gripping it tightly, she stared at her parents. Her loving, sweet parents who had raised her and taught her everything they knew.
Finally coming to a decision, she fled the castle, unable to commit the horrendous crime she'd been contemplating.
Packing what she would need, she rode away in the dark night, casting a final glance at the big towers before she rode away, thinking she would never return.
She would have to find another kingdom to rule. And what a royal wants, a royal gets.
And Valentine was, after all, the most powerful royal to ever live.
That video up there? (tell me if you can't play it) I made it myself, so what do you think?
I'm really proud over myself ;) - Though, it was my first edit, so... Yeah. Not so good, I know.
