Chapter 32: Peculiar Possessions- Part 2

Author's Note: Hey, guys! So, quick note; this chapter is going to be a little crazy, especially with the collar having a mind of it's own thing. So, get ready for some weird supernatural stuff to go down. Also, there's going to be a bit of arguing and one of the guardians is going to get killed. So, just some quick notes. But, enough talk. Let's get on with the chapter!

"We face the archway that is now the lounge door and see...."

Valentina's POV:

We face the archway and see this guy in a white t-shirt with black lightning on it, black jeans, a red leather jacket, and red and black hair walk through the archway into the lounge holding a baseball bat with a sort of horned cat person following him.

Gear immediately held Lana close to him, and we were all just so confused.

Zach: 'So, this guy and this.... cat lady walk into our lounge and I think it's Lucian and his demon cat, Lucile.'

"Hey, so I don't know you guys, but one thing I know for sure... is that I need that choker back." The guy muttered, pointing to the choker Lana had in her hands.

"Yeah.... no. Sorry, Lucian- I think that's what your name is anyway- but it's our artifact and we need to cleanse it, so if you would mind moving, we would really like that." I emitted, pointing at him.

"Well, listen here; that biker dude over there- yeah, Victor or something, I don't know his name and I don't care- he's got other intentions. He's lying to you. So, if that's enough to make you back down, cough that choker up right now or I will whack somebody with this thing!" Lucian shouted, swinging the baseball bat into the palm of his hand.

"But no matter! The Delamont Mistress will soon be free and she's gonna rip your goddamn hearts out." He mocked, chuckling afterwards.

Gear: 'Now, I'm confused to all hell; this Lucian guy is going on about the fact that Victor has other intentions and he's lying to us. I know he isn't working with the Delamont Mistress, so I think if he is lying, though, he's planning to fight the Delamont Mistress alone. But that's not possible, right?'

"Bullshit!" Heidi fumed, stepping between us and Lucian.

We all begin to back away to the side of the lounge, slowly edging towards the exit so we can run.

"We have seven of the artifacts and you're the last thing standing between us and the final one! And my brother would never lie to me, so you're the liar. So, get outta here now or I'll beat the psycho right out of you, bitch!" She snarled.

Lucian immediately just burst into an evil laughing fit.

Me, Gear, Lana, Oli, and Zach continued to inch towards the door.

Then, out of nowhere, Lucian whacks Heidi with his baseball bat and they have a huge fight.

"Yep, we're leaving!" Zach shouted, all of us racing outside.

We rushed out of the lounge and opened the door to the arcade, where we found a note. Oli grabbed it and read it aloud. It read:

'To find the first of the four feathers needed to cleanse the Choker of Possession, you will need to enter the Church of Dynamo and two of you will need to lock wrists at the altar to claim it.'

"Isn't the Delamont Mistress in that church? I'm sure I saw a glow when we were trying to deal with Lassie. It looked like the diamond prison that was mentioned ages ago." Lana fretted, a little concerned about this whole thing.

"Well, she can't break out yet, so there can't be that big of a problem," I reassured, shrugging my shoulders.

We make our way to the church- running, of course- when, suddenly, we hear the door of the arcade bust open.

Heidi and Victor run towards us, closely followed by the demon cat, Lucile.

We all end up having to sprint to get away from her and get into the church.

Thank God I can sprint in these heels now!

We all make it into the church, only to realise that Lucile can't get inside; it must be because she's a demon.

There was a slight moment of shock when we saw the diamond prison the Delamont Mistress was in, but that subsided quickly when we saw the altar.

There was a note on it, which Zach read to the group. It read:

'To claim the first feather for the choker, two of you must lock wrists by placing one hand each inside of the altar and closing the metal ring around it.'

"I'm guessing at this point we're getting handcuffed. Worst-case scenario, me and Oli could do it." I pondered, holding my hand up.

"I've stuck my hand in a chute and nearly got it cut off, so I can get handcuffed to my friend."

"OR... me and Lana could do it. I mean, we accidentally got handcuffed together at a bar once. So... kinda makes sense?" Gear reckoned, looking a little confused and shrugging.

"Val, you've already done so much tonight, so might as well cut you a break."

We all thought the request was reasonable enough, so we ended up going through with it.

After closing the rings around their wrists, turns out we were right.... they ended up being handcuffed to each other.

"Finally, we can eliminate half of the issue; these two can't help as much since they're handcuffed to each other." Zach praised, raising his hands up in the air.

"We can still help, you know! We're not stupid!" Lana scorned, putting the hand that wasn't handcuffed on her hip.

I looked inside the altar and found the first feather and a note.

I attached the feather to the choker and gave the note to Gear, who read it.

The note read:

'Many people have memoirs they took to their graves. However, now the town has been disrupted by evil, their memoirs have been scattered. To find the second feather for the Choker of Possession, you must reunite five people with their memoirs by leaving them at their graveside.'

"So, who's distracting this demon cat, then? I say whoever can run the fastest." Zach suggested, a look of curiosity on his face.

"So, how about me and you alternate? Val may be able to sprint in heels, but she's one of the smartest people here, so her helping with the memoirs will help us get the feather faster. If you get tired, Zach, come back into the church and I'll take over." Oli alleged, putting his hand in his pant's pocket.

We end up settling on Zach and Oli alternating between distracting and helping, whilst me, Gear, and Lana solve the memoirs.

When Zach runs around, trying to stop this cat from killing us, my alliance and I try to find the memoirs.

"Guys, I've got a whip." I whisper-shout, hoping it would be of use.

Gear found a clock, Lana found a rosary and Oli found a rifle. We all looked around the graves when I saw something.

The grave read:

'Rosita Allard, always knew the perfect time to brighten up the town.'

"Gear, you have a clock, right?" Oli queried, holding his hand out.

"Yeah, I do. I think it's for Rosita, seems like it, anyway." Gear disclosed.

We placed the clock in front of Rosita's grave.

Fast forward a few minutes and we had matched up the whip and the rosary with their rightful owners. Gear had also found a crown lying around near the mausoleum. Then, Lana saw one grave that could be vital to us succeeding.

It read:

'Sasha Davis. The huntress who was a sharper shooter than Billy The Kid.'

Oli then threw Lana the rifle, which matched up to Sasha. We were still trying to find something that matched the crown when Zach caught our attention.

"Guys, we need to alternate!" Zach called out. We ran back into the church and Oli distracted the demon cat whilst Zach tried to help us solve the final memoir.

After a quick hunt, which included Zach being lazy as he normally was, Gear catches our attention with the grave that could solve it all.

"Guys, look at this; 'Kody Johnson, the crowned king of the bar.' Wait, give me that crown!" Gear voiced.

We gave him the crown and surely enough, part of a grave slid open, releasing the second feather and yet another note.

This time, I grab the note and read it whilst Oli puts the feather on the choker. The note read:

'The Demon Cat holds the third feather for the Choker of Possession around her neck. To slay her, you will need to find the Thieves Trap in the trees, lure her in by using a human morsel and impale her with a golden spear. The golden spear is at the Fallen Tree and the Thieves Trap is on the other side of the cemetery.'

Oli: 'And, as lucky as we are, Lucian's demon cat has the third feather around her neck. So, we need to get this spear, get to the trap and one of us has to stand in the trap to kill this demonic cat being!'

We all raced over to the Fallen Tree- as in the first one we saw that was obviously dead- and found the spear at the top of the tree. I somehow reached it and we all then had to bolt all the way to this trap with this demon cat following us.

Though Lucile is an idiot.

Lana accidentally ran through the trap, and because Lucile was chasing us, she ran into the trap. Oli pulled the net up and this cat was having a hissy fit.

I grabbed the spear, and whilst this cat was trying to rip my arm off, I stabbed her in the heart with the golden spear, much to everybody's surprise.

I then grabbed the feather as we booked it back to the church.

"I kinda feel bad for it. A bit, but not a lot," Oli panted, exhausted from how much running we've done tonight. "It's only because I don't support animal cruelty!"

Then, just as we were nearly at the church, Lucian turned up and saw his demon cat dead. We just had to run faster, so he didn't kill us all too soon.

"LUCILE!" He screamed, running towards the trap. "WHAT HAVE YOU MONSTERS DONE?!"

Suddenly, whilst we're running back, Heidi just gets yanked.

Now we've nearly cleansed it, the choker has the mind of its own that was on the note because it just starts pulling Heidi away from the church.

I think it was trying to prevent us from fully cleansing it and saving our asses, so I decided for the time being to just clip the two ends of it together to stop it moving.

And, somehow, by the grace of God, it worked.

We entered the church.

Gear and Lana got their handcuffs taken off and we are safe... for now.

Until Oli spots something.

"Um, guys? There's something on the altar..." He said, looking shocked as he pointed to the altar in the church.

We all face the altar and see...
