Chapter 7: Howling Demise- Part 2
"They lift the cloth off of the jar and it reveals..."

Gear's POV:
The cloth is off the jar.
OK, thank God, it's not a nail bomb.
But.... why the hell is there a jar of darts in the middle of the table?
Lana: 'What the hell is this?'
"It's time to play the alpha's game. Where the ante... is your life." Retorts Miguel.
"Inside this jar is a golden dart; you to find it and place it on the pedestal." He said, pointing to the pedestal and chest behind us.
"You pull the black dart, you go onto the final death challenge. No vote." He continues.
"OK, flip your cards." He orders.
We did so.
"Right, I got ace. What does that mean?" Lia asks, her card in her hand.
"That means you're going first, Lia. Go for red or gold." Lizzie encourages.
"Start the game!" Miguel shouts, backing away.
Lia reaches into the jar.
"Could you stop moving the goddamn table!?" she shouts.
We stopped moving and jumped back, even if I wasn't. I was just stood there, patiently waiting for my turn.
"Thank you," she mutters, rolling her eyes.
She pulled a red dart.
"OK, cool."
Vanessa: 'You didn't need to be impolite. You should have have asked us to not move the table before your turn.'
I lost my train of thought for the rest of the first round, but everybody's drawn red darts.
So, we need to go again. Wonderful.
If you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic.
And now, Val's tried to pull a dart, but it's stuck.
"OK, it's not budging! OK, wiggle, wiggle...." She grunted, wiggling the dart. After a second, it came out.
So, thank God, we're good.
Valentina: 'Well, that was a close one.'
"I think one of the darts on the bottom is the gold, but there's still a chance of pulling black," Oli suggests.
"So, it's a risk?" Zach questions, an eyebrow in the air.
"Yeah, looks that way." I answer.
"Oli, I can do this for you. You saved my life." Joey falters.
Wait, what!?
"You put us here. You could jump across this table and stop me as I pull this dart out." Oli joked, making me, Val Lana, and Lizzie giggle, even if the timing was off.
"Let me ask you something real quick," Lia fumes, standing up on her seat and pointing at Joey.
"How come you put us in this mess and you're not willing to take a chance for us?"
Lia, what the hell are you doing?!
Do you wanna die? I didn't think so.
So, if you wanna live, shut those fake-ass lips up and sit your ass down!
"I'm just saying that Oli saved your life!" she continues, still pointing at him and leaning forward.
Lia: 'Why don't you step up, Sir?!'
"So, you want me to do it?" Joey hisses.
"I want you to do it!" Lia cursed.
"If you are here to save this group, prove it!"
"Alright, check this out, then." Joey gloats.
He reaches into the jar and pulls out a dart.
The dart is black.
The entire room is silent.
"Hm, I guess karma is a bitch." Lia scoffs, Oli elbowing her.
Gear: 'He pulled the black dart. He's going into the challenge.'
Lizzie tips the jar of darts out so we could find the gold.
A few seconds later, we had it in the bag.
"Guys, I got the gold!" Veronica shouts, putting it on the pedestal.
The chest opens, revealing the dog's head.
Val puts the tag on the dog collar and then puts it on the dog's neck.
Inside the chest, there's also a note, which Lana reads:
It reads:
'To finish cleansing the artifact, two must be selected by vote to face the challenge of a great alpha wolf to claim its heart.'
"So, we're going to have to vote." I state.
I know it's obvious as fuck, but somebody needs to get the point across.
"Well, let's get back to the lounge, then." Vanessa squeaks.
We stand up and run back to the lounge, about to vote for who will join Joey to face the Dog Woman...
