Chapter 35: Peculiar Possessions- Part 3
Author's Note: Hey, guys! So, I hope you are all ready because we are going into the final death of this story.
After a long night, it is time for the final challenge.
A long night of fighting to the death, puzzle solving and a shit-load of arguing has lead to this. Very. Moment.
So, what are we waiting for? Let's get on with the final challenge of Delamont's Ladykiller!

"We all face the altar and see..."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gear's POV:
We look at the altar and see our tarot cards and a note.
We're all in shock to see we have to vote again, but we know the note will tell us more.
I grab the note and read it.
It reads:
'To claim the fourth feather to subdue and cleanse the Choker of Possession, two of you must be selected by vote to beat Lucian at his own game.
Be wary, you are nearing your ultimate confrontation with the Delamont Mistress.'
"I didn't think we would have to vote again. I thought this was a twist." Lana squalls, a look of concern on her face.
"Discuss amongst yourselves, please." Heidi says.
"I don't think there's even a reason to discuss this privately, Heidi. We all deserve to be here. Gear and Lana are never gonna vote against each other and Valentina's a badass. So, the question is, who's going in with Zach? Heidi, can we please just skip to the voting?" Oli interrogates, hope in his voice.
"If that is what you wish." Heidi confides, slightly bowing her head.
"It is time to vote. Tap the card with the face of the person you would like to enter Lucian's challenge. We'll start with you." She concludes, motioning to Oli.
Oli: 'The odds are all stacked against Zach. Everybody he had as an ally is dead now, so four votes against him will obviously send him into the challenge and hopefully kill him.'
Zach votes next. It's me and then Lana.
And finally, as per usual, it's Val.
Zach didn't reveal his vote, but since everybody in my alliance is voting for him, that would mean that whoever he voted is going up against him. But, either way, I think Val still voted for Zach.
"I will now shuffle, then draw two," Heidi announces.
This has got to be the most tense I've felt during a voting session all night.
There is a risk for any of us to go in; somebody could've potentially flipped their vote.
I'm just hoping for the best right now.
"It is time. Are you ready?" Heidi ponders, ready to draw the cards.
We all just nod and brace ourselves.
Please just be Zach, please just be Zach...
"The first person going into the challenge is..."
Heidi picks up the first card, looks at it, and turns it around.
Oh, thank God.
Fucking. Finally.
"The Drama King."
Zach: 'So, my card gets pulled and my heart sinks. I'm not dying; I have to get out of here for Megan.'
"The second person going into the challenge is...."
Heidi picks up the second card, looks at it, and turns it around.
Oh... this is a lot worse.
Shit, why did this one have to happen?
"The Seamstress."
"Oh my God." Oli sighs, his head falling into his hands.
Oli: 'I see Valentina's card get pulled, and I am shocked. I was honestly convinced that Zach had voted for Gear or Lana. Valentina has to win this so we can get out of here for Lizzie. But as well... I can't imagine leaving here without her. She's my best friend.'
"Come. I will lead you to the challenge." Heidi interjects, stepping out from behind the altar.
"You three come as well, to observe." She continues, motioning to me, Lana and Oli.
And with that, we leave the church, going to the final challenge of the night...

We all finally arrive at the challenge tent, me, Lana, and Oli sitting the side of it.
"Here are the rules of the challenge." Victor orates, handing them a note.
They both read it aloud, and it reads:
'There are nine boxes and nine codes in the circus pool. One box holds salvation and a choice. Pop the balloons with your feet to begin your search. Find the right code before your friend, or this night might be your end.'
Val and Zach are stood next to each other.
And I'm just waiting for them to start so Val can hopefully kill Zach so our alliance can get out of here together.
"Good luck, guys!" Oli calls out.
"Wait, before we start the challenge..." I emit, reaching into the pit of popcorn.
"Lucian, do you mind if we have some of the popcorn?"
"Gear!" Lana whisper-shouts at me.
"What? We haven't eaten all night!" I reply, shrugging.
"He's got a point, Lana." Val chimes in, giggling.
"Good luck, guys. A lot better luck to Val, though." Lana croons, still eating the popcorn.
Zach: 'So, whilst everybody is still hating on me, me and Valentina about to start. We need to pop these balloons so we can get the all-clear to look for these codes for these boxes. And I am going to win this challenge and kill Valentina.'
"GO!" Lucian shouts.
Zach and Val race into the pit and pop the balloons.
Zach is having a bit of trouble finding said balloons, although though they're pretty damn big. Meanwhile, Val's popping all of those balloons faster than you can say 'I'm a winner.'
"You got this, Val!" I approve, eating more of the popcorn.
Val digs around the popcorn to find what I think are sheets of paper with the codes on them.
And right away, she's lucky enough to find one.
I'm guessing there was nothing in the box, since she got the code in and just ran off straight away.
Zach finds a code and opens the second box.
"OH, COME ON!" He shouts.
Yeah... that one had nothing in it; I can tell.
Jump 5 minutes... and nobody's won, still.
Lucian's just being annoying as shit and I'm on the brink of killing him myself.
But then, outta nowhere, Val grabs one of the boxes and lifts it up.
And, girl... I'm fucking shook.
"WOAH!" Lana bubbles. "Val's going for it."
Gear: 'I knew Valentina was going to get through tonight, but never in a million years did I think she was going to lift a box to survive a challenge. I'm so glad I met this girl; she's a fighter.'
Zach's struggling to find a code as Val snatches something from underneath the box, jumping over Zach and putting the code in a box.
And then... the room goes silent, Zach walking towards her.
She turns away from the box holding a shock collar, a gun and a note.
She reads the note aloud to everyone. It reads:
'Congratulations, you are the winner of Lucian's game! Now, you must make a choice; you must kill yourself or kill your friend to claim the final feather to cleanse the Choker of Possession. Unlike the other challenges, fate will not choose. It will be you. To choose who you want to die, place the shock collar around their neck and then shoot them to finish the job.'
Bitch, if you fucking shoot yourself, I am gonna be so fucking upset.
I ain't leaving town with a Drama King; no, Sir!
"W... what?" Zach stutters.
"Val, you don't have to do this! I'm sorry! I'm sorry for everything!"
That's faker than Kim K's ass, Zach, let's be real.
She won; get over yourself...
And die already.
"Well, if you apologised earlier, I might have forgiven you. We all might have. But you're a villain, through and through. So, this has to be done." Val states, still holding the collar.
"Bitch, just forgive me already!" He sobs, his crying over-dramatic.
Once again, faker than Kim K's ass.
Just. Shut. The. Fuck. Up.
"I'm sick of this petty whining! Time to do what we've wanted to do all night, guys." Val breathes, looking at me, Oli and Lana as she clamps the collar around Zach's neck.
The collar suddenly activates, electrocuting him as he falls to his knees from the pain of the electricity.
Val takes the gun from the box and aims.
"Goodnight, you fucking cunt!" She screams, shooting him right in the head.
He stops twitching as the collar de-activates.
Finally, after 9 hours...
We've done it!
The Drama King's dead!
Everybody just starts cheering and celebrating- well, everybody being me, Lana and Oli.
Gear: 'We fucking did it! Finally, after nine hours, Zach is dead! All we need to do is kill the Delamont Mistress and we can get our asses out of this town!'
She runs over and hugs all of us, all of us so happy that Zach's 'reign of terror' is finally over.
But soon, at the end of our festivities, we find a note as I grab the feather and re-attach it to the choker, causing Lucian to vanish in a puff of black magic.
Lana reads it:
'The Delamont Mistress has taken back the artifacts and is ready to emerge for your final showdown with her. If you want to have a chance at stopping her, you must place the choker on the final glowing podium in the church.'
Wait, she's done what!?
Well, pucker up, you Delamont Mistress motherfucker; we're here to bring the heat!
"Time to finish what we started. Come on!" Victor urges, motioning to us.
We dart back to the church as quickly as we can.
***
As soon as we open the doors, we see the final glowing podium.
And though we're pretty damn reluctant, we finally place the choker on the podium.
Then... something shatters.
We look towards the sound, and we see...
TO BE CONTINUED. <3
