➵ Girl Talk

"Come on Nev! I know you're better than this." Percy challenged. He sent me a smirk while he twirled his sword around. We were both drenched in sweat from practicing our swordsmanship near the stream for the past hour. I rolled my eyes and pointed the tip of my sword at my brother's chest that was currently dressed in leather armor.
"Of course I am. I'm just not feeling it right now, Perce." I shrugged, slightly bouncing on my tip toes. Sending him a cheeky smile, I twirled around and slashed the celestial bronze sword at him. Percy easily parried it away. He swiftly raised the butt of his sword, Riptide, and swung it down towards me. I quickly jumped to the side.
"Not feeling it, my ass." Percy chuckled out. I shot him a wink. Spinning behind him, I used the flat off my blade to smack his rear. He shrieked and turned to face me. Percy narrowed his eyes at me playfully. "Hey! Watch it missy."
"I have no clue what you're talking about." I giggled and innocently shrugged. Percy scoffed at my reply. "Now stop whining and fight Seaweed Brain."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." He mumbled, jumping back into action. Our swords clashed loudly. I brought up my foot out of instinct and kicked Percy in the chest. Percy let out a small groan. He clutched at his chest as he stumbled backwards. "I thought we said no kicking!"
"You said that, not me." I pointed out with a grin. "Besides, this is practice. Practice involves me kicking. You should know that by now. Use your common sense Perce."
Percy grumbled incoherent words under his breath. Rolling his shoulders back, he tightened his grip on Riptide. Smirking mischievously, he suddenly raised his hand and willed the water to shoot towards me. I didn't react fast enough. Water soon poured all over me, knocking me to the ground. I huffed and glared up at Percy.
"This is practice. Practice involves me using water. You should know that by now. Use your common sense Nev." Percy mocked. I mumbled curses in Ancient Greek. Percy beamed at my reaction, tapping the point of his sword. The sword shrunk back into its pen form. He shoved it into his pocket and walked over towards me. "Need help?"
"Yeah." I grumbled. Percy held out a hand and I raised mine. Smirking, the water from the ground levitated and formed into a huge ball. Before Percy could even react, the water flew towards him. The force knocked him onto his back. Grinning, I stood up and walked over to him. Percy narrowed his sea green eyes at me. "Well, I'll say that I won that round."
"Cheater." Percy whined, pushing himself up. I waved him off. Standing up next to me, Percy's famous mischievous smirk played on his lips. "Race you to the cabin?"
"You're on." I nodded. Percy grinned and broke into a sprint. My eyes widened. "We never said go! Percy! You're the freaking cheater!"
I ran after him, knowing very well that it was going to be hard to catch up to him. I have short legs while he had long ones. This isn't fair. I huffed and pushed myself harder. Percy dodged the trees, his laugh echoing throughout the woods. A sudden thought entered my mind and I grinned. I can totally do this. Going off course, I took the shortcut that I usually took when I would run away from Grover and Percy.
I stopped in my tracks, only a few feet away from our cabin. Licking my lips, I saw a flash of orange come closer to the edge of the woods. Crouching a bit, I waited a few seconds before I jumped next to Percy. He swore and almost tripped. I cackled and ran past him, wiggling my fingers at him. I finished with a jump, turning around and beaming at my brother. Percy jogged up to me, crossing his arms.
"How did you do that? I didn't even see you." Percy said.
"Leather armor is the best for sneaking." I shrugged, pointing at the armor I was wearing. Percy perked an eyebrow. "Because it's literally made of hide."
Percy snorted and shook his head. I grinned at his reaction. He threw his arm around my shoulder and started to lead me towards the Athena cabin. Campers were practicing with their weapons and scaling the climbing wall that pours out lava. Personally, that one is my favorite and I have no clue as of why. As we arrived at the entrance of the cabin, the door opened. Malcom stared at us for a second before he yelled Annabeth's name over his shoulder. I heard a loud groan of protest followed by stomping.
"Yes?" Annabeth asked, biting back a smile. Percy grinned at his girlfriend.
"I'll leave you three too it. See ya later guys." Malcom waved as he walked off. I turned my attention back to the couple.
"Please don't make out in front of me. Give me a warning and I'll run for it." I said. Annabeth rolled her eyes at me.
"We're not going to make out." Annabeth informed. Percy looked at her in disbelief.
"We're not?" Percy pouted.
"No."
"Not even a little?"
"Not even a little."
"Thank the gods." I muttered out.
"Well then." Percy frowned. "Here I was trying to be the bestest brother and boyfriend in the world. To let you two have a Girl's Day, but I get attacked instead."
"Bestest isn't a word, Seaweed Brain." Annabeth laughed out.
"It is in my dictionary, Wise Girl." Percy defended himself.
"But," I dragged out, "I will admit you are one of the bestest brothers in the world."
"And the bestest boyfriend as well." Annabeth grinned, interlocking her fingers with Percy's. Percy grinned wrapping his free arm around my shoulder.
"I have the bestest girls by my side." Percy pressed his lips against my forehead before he kissed Annabeth. "Besides Mom."
"You're such a Momma's boy, I swear." I laughed out. Annabeth laughed and nodded in agreement.
"Okay, you know what? I'm leaving. You two can go join Piper and Hazel. I'm out. I need some guy time." Percy joked, breaking away from us. I chuckled and rolled my eyes.
"You can talk in our cabin, Nev. We're most likely going to hang out in Jason's." Percy informed, shoving his hands into his pockets.
"Okay, gotcha." I nodded. Percy smiled and waved before he went to go find the boys. Annabeth closed her cabin door and stood next to me.
"Want to go ahead and get the girls?" Annabeth questioned. I nodded. We stalked up towards the Aphrodite Cabin first. I made sure to keep my distance from the door. The last time I was passing by, Drew bombarded me with a makeup crew. Since then, I made sure to be a good ten yards away. Annabeth chuckled once she noticed that I had stopped. She went up towards the cabin and knocked. Piper opened the door and grinned. They exchanged a few words and walked up towards me.
"Is Hazel with Nico or Frank?" I asked.
"I'm here!" Hazel suddenly popped out of nowhere. I shrieked and placed my hand over my heart. Hazel giggled at my antics. "Sorry, Percy told me that you girls were looking for me."
"Ignore her, she's dramatic." Piper said, patting my shoulder.
"Apparently." I huffed. The girls laughed. "Let's just go into my cabin. We need to catch up on girl talk."
"Are you finally going to talk about this Stiles guy?" Piper smirked at me. I blushed and looked forward. Picking up my pace, I opened the door and let the girls in.
"I'm guessing that's a yes?" Annabeth grinned.
"Shut up." I mumbled out, plopping onto my bed.
"So." Hazel dragged out the word, giving me a cheeky smile as she sat next to me. "Tell us about Stiles."
"Well, what do you girls want to know?" I bit my lip.
"How did you first meet?"
"When did you start going out?"
"What is he like?"
"Oh, erm." I stuttered out, my face heating up some more.
"Aww, our Nevah is tongue tied." Annabeth cooed, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. I felt my face heat up even more. This isn't like me. I have never blushed this hard before.
"Just go one question at a time." Hazel stated. Piper nodded along.
"I-well, okay. Umm, well we first met by him almost running over me." I sheepishly grinned, dangling my feet.
"I'm sorry, what?" Piper laughed out. "He almost ran you over? Geesh, no wonder my Mom ships you two."
"Oh hush!" I swatted her arm. "It's all Apollo's freaking fault. He was about to turn into his godly form and I didn't realize I was on the road until a honk broke me out of it."
"So, it's also your fault?" Hazel questioned, tilting her head. I opened my mouth and then closed it. Hmm...maybe it is.
"Well then...I guess so?" I muttered to myself. They laughed at my realization.
"Okay, next question. When did you two start dating?" Annabeth nudged me.
"Umm, a day or two before you guys came to pick me up." I said, counting the days off of my fingers.
"What!? So you guys have been officially dating for what...a week now?" Piper stumbled out. I sheepishly smiled and shrugged. "Has he IM'ed you yet?"
"I actually IM'ed him a few days ago-"
"You IM him like every day, what are you talking about?" Annabeth cut me off. I huffed and glared at her.
"As I was saying, it was a few days ago." I continued. Annabeth rolled her eyes and mumbled a "no you didn't" under her breath. I ignored her and went on. "We were just talking about what our first date should be the next time I'm over in California."
"Which would be in a couple of days." Hazel beamed. "You're coming with Frank, Jason, Piper and I right?"
"Yeah, yeah I will." I nodded rapidly. Annabeth chuckled.
"You and Stiles are adorable. That was your first kiss, wasn't it?" I blushed at her question. "I'm taking that as a yes. That's cute."
"So....describe him to us." Piper demanded, clapping her hands together. A giggle slipped past her lips as she brought up her legs onto the bed.
"I-uh...well, he's cute?" They all rolled their eyes at that. "He's very spastic, he's smart, he thinks like a detective. I think he got that from his Dad since he is the town's Sherriff. He has these really beautiful eyes. They kinda switch shades depending on the lighting. They can go from a whiskey color to an amber and oh gods, I can just drown in them. Which would be very ironic since I can't drown. Anyways, and he has these cute moles on his face that look like the constellations and-sorry. I'm rambling."
"No, no! Continue! This is so cute!" Hazel fanned herself.
"Nope. That's it for me." I did the motion of zipping my lips. "You girls can go on and blab about your boyfriends."
"Are you sure? This won't be weird for you? Ya know, since it's about your brother?" Annabeth asked.
"Eh, why not."
