Chapter 20
"And then there were two!" Taeyong exclaimed, putting his last cards on the table, leaving only Jisung and Renjun playing.
"Let's go, Jisung-ah!" Eunmi cheered.
"Noona, I feel hurt." Renjun said, feeling attacked, but wasn't really.
She laughed, "Hwaiting, Renjunnie!" She also cheered.
Here they are, three days later. Spending their time at Jaehyun and Eunmi's house, playing uno.
They were betting on who would lose, and of course, the front runner's none other than Huang Renjun.
The game was intense, they were all shocked when Renjun was left with one card. Jisung with two.
It was Jisung's turn and he placed an exchange card. Renjun sighed, knowing that he lost once again.
Jisung raised the card, "Uno!" He placed the card on the deck and clapped. "Injoon-hyung, you didn't say uno! That gives you two more cards!!" They all laughed, and Renjun could only sigh.
"Remind me why we're friends again." He muttered in his mother tongue, Mandarin. The China line laughed, upon understanding what he said, while the others just shrugged, probably thinking that he was rethinking their friendship.
Eunmi sighed, "You guys have time today?"
"Yeah, we have all the time. We don't have classes today, remember?" Irene said.
Taeyong nodded, "Yeah because the Student Council is already preparing for the music fest. Which explains why Mark is once again absent." He sighed.
Eunmi looked down, "O-Oh yeah..."
Haechan patted her arm, "Don't be sad, noona... I'm sure Mark-hyung misses you too." He smiled.
She nodded, "Anyways, what I'm saying is... let's go out later?" She asked.
"You never told us what's up so.. what's happening? What's going on?" Wendy asked.
"It's my birthday today." She laughed.
"JINJJA?!" All of them, except Taeyong and Jaehyun exclaimed.
She nodded, "I want to treat you guys before I go.."
"Heck, I feel bad... I don't even have a gift for you." Yeri said.
She laughed, "No need for a gift! As long as you guys are with me, I'm fine with it." She smiled. "Besides, nobody knew about this anyways."
"Why is this making me even more guilty than I already am?" Johnny sighed.
"You could have at least given us a heads up." Taeil said.
She shook her head, "No, I told you guys... it's really fine! It's no big deal." She laughed. "Now get up and let's go."
"Uh... everyone.." Jisung started. "I have a question..."
They all looked at him.
"How are we supposed to fit in a van? A mini-van, to be exact?" He asked.
Irene laughed and placed his arm around Jisung's shoulder, "Jisung-ah, that's why we have Jaehyun's mini-van, Taeyong's car, Johnny's car, Taeil's car, and my car. That could fit us all."

"Eunmi-yah, are you okay? It's your birthday but why are you quiet?" Taeil asked.
Eunmi nodded slowly. "I'm leaving tomorrow." A tear escaped from her eye and she immediately.
The mood went down real quick. They looked down, wishing that they could spend their time with her more.
"W-What? But why?" Wendy asked.
"That's it." Irene stood up. "Mark needs to go here. Today's your last day, and heck it's even your birthday but he's not here. Is he your boyfriend or what?" She said.
Eunmi looked at her, "Unnie he isn't my boyfriend yet... besides, I understand that he has his own schedules."
"Screw schedules. If he really loves you, he would be here celebrating your birthday with us. Does he even know that today's your birthday?" She asked.
Eunmi looked down and shook her head. "Please don't call him..."
Irene sighed, "Are you sure that you're okay? Because we're 100% that we're not."
"I'm sorry..."
****
"Are you sure you'll be alright?" Irene asked.
Eunmi nodded, "I'll be fine." She forced a smile.
"Oh God, I'm gonna miss you so much." Wendy hugged her.
"Me too." Yeri said.
All of the girls hugged her and she ended up crying.
"Yah, don't forget us, okay?" Seulgi said, wiping her tears.
Eunmi noddeed, "How can I forget you guys?" She laughed.
"Take care of yourself." Joy smiled at her, although sadness was evident in her eyes.
Eunmi hugged her and nodded, "Thank you for everything..." She sobbed.
"Yah, don't cry!" Yeri slapped her shoulder and laughed.
"We'll go now." Irene said.
Eunmi nodded.
The five boarded Irene's car and Eunmi watched it disappear from her sight.
She sighed, turning around and opening their gate. She wasn't supposed to feel this. She's supposed to be happy,
"Eunmi-yah." Someone held her wrist.
She looked at the person and immediately hugged him. It was the person she's been longing to see all day.
"Mark..." She sobbed.
"Hey, why are you crying?" He cupped her face and wiped her tears. "Have you been crying lately? Your eyes are puffy... Is everything alright?" He asked, worried.
She nodded, "I just missed you really bad..." She lied. I'm leaving....
"I'm just next door..." He said, smiling at her.
She smiled.
"Don't cry anymore, okay? It's your birthday, you should be happy..." Mark smiled at her.
Her eyes widened, "How did you know?"
Mark sighed, "You were with them earlier. I texted Taeyong-hyung and he said that you were outside, celebrating your birthday... I'm sorry..." He looked down.
"Hey, you don't need to apologize. I understand that you're busy..." She said.
"Let's go?" He said, holding her hand.
"Where?" She asked.
"At least spend the rest of your birthday with me..." Mark smiled.
"But Jaehyun-oppa—"
"I already told him."
***
The two were lying down on the ground, feeling each other's heart beat that were in sync.
She was lying down beside him, his arm was pillowing her head, and she was facing him, while her arm was wrapped around his waist.
Silence was enveloping the two of them— a comforting silence.
"Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And everything you do
Yeah they were all yellow"
Eunmi looked at him when he started singing her favorite song.
"I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called 'Yellow'"
She started to hum with the song, letting Mark sing.
"So then I took I took my turn
Oh what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow"
She smiled and sang the chorus with him.
"Your skin
Oh yeah, your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
You know, you know I love you so
You know I love you so"
A tear escaped her eye. She hugged Mark tighter. Mark noticed that his shirt was starting to become wet, it was just then when he noticed that she was crying.
He turned to his side and hugged her back. He wiped her tears and continued singing.
"I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow"
I hope this moment would last forever... I don't want to leave...
"Your skin
Oh yeah, your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
And you know
For you I'd bleed myself dry
For you I'd bleed myself dry"
She sobbed into his chest, not giving a damn if Mark could see that she was crying.
Mark kissed her forehead, and she shut her eyes closed.
"It's true
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine"
Mark took a deep breath before singing the last few lines.
"Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And all the things that you do"
"M-Mark..."
Mark kissed her lips.
Her eyes widened, but she started to move her lips in sync.
Mark broke from the kiss and leaned his forehead on hers.
"Hm?"
"I love you..."
"I love you too..."
The two looked at the sky, hearing their heartbeats that were beating as one.
"It's nice that you could see the stars at a time like this... stars are rarely seen here in Seoul." Mark said.
Eunmi nodded.
"I have a question..." She said out of the blue.
"Hm?"
"What if one day, you'll wake up, without me by your side?" She asked.
"I'll look for you. I'll look and wait, until you come back. Why? Is there a problem? Are you leaving?" He asked, his voice turned into a sad tone.
She shook her head, even if she's really leaving. "Will you get mad?"
"Maybe? Honestly, no... how could I be mad at you?" He sighed.
"I love you so much, thank you for everything Mark..."
"I love you too."
Mark stood up, and she did too.
"I wrote a song for you." He smiled sheepishly. "I wrote it when I accidentally shouted at you in my music room." He handed her a flash drive.
"Play it at home, okay? I wrote it, but guess who sang it?" He asked.
"Who?" She smiled.
"Taeil-hyung, Doyoung-hyung and Jaehyun-hyung." He grinned sheepishly.
"My brother? Jinjja?" She asked, surprised.
Mark nodded, "Yeah, it's called 'Timeless' don't be sad now, okay?" He ruffled her hair.
She smiled. "Thank you."
