Chapter 13

To say happy is an understatement. Eunmi has no idea why she woke up early the next day. She feels refreshed and energized, which is kinda weird since she hated waking up early, especially if it was because of school.

"Good morning to the most awesome brother in the world!!" She said, as the scent of freshly cooked waffles greeted her nose as she ran downstairs.

Jaehyun laughed, "Wow, you're up early. I didn't have to wake you up. You're in a good mood today." He looked at his sister who was already seating at the dining table. "Good morning to you too, Eunmi." He smiled, placing a plate of waffles in front of her.

"I honestly don't know why but I'm kinda excited today." She chuckled. "I will eat well!!~"

"Eunmi-yah, did you know that Song Sihyun replaced you for the fair's opening?" Jaehyun asked.

She looked at him, "As if I know who that is." She rolled her eyes. "But I do know that someone replaced me because Miss Kim said so, which kinda sucks." She sighed.

"It's good, though. So that you could rest." Jaehyun laughed.

She glared at him, "What's good about that?! There's my break in front of me and it will run away just like that?!" She sighed. "Can't do anything about it now, though."

"Well at least you're still the vocalist, and Mark's soon-to-be-girlfriend." Jaehyun grinned at her.

She laughed, "Yah, enough with that 'soon-to-be-girlfriend' thing!" Jaehyun laughed. "True though..."

"True? That you're Mark's soon-to-be-girlfriend?" Jaehyun laughed.

"No! Well—kinda, but— what I'm saying is at least I'm still the band's vocalist." She said.

"Will you watch the general rehearsal today?" Jaehyun asked.

"Huh? What do you mean? What general rehearsal?" She asked.

"Eh? Mark didn't tell you? The band's general rehearsal will be today. At the music hall." Jaehyun explained.

She pouted, "Maybe he forgot..."

"Ey, don't frown now.." Jaehyun said. "You can watch him perform later, hm?"

She nodded.

She started to fidget when Mark didn't attend all of their classes. He wasn't responding to any of her calls, voice messages, and messages either.

She sighed and looked down. Lucas noticed her discomfort. He looked at her and tapped her shoulder. "You okay? You look sick."

She nodded. "Just a bit worried." She showed her call log which showed Mark's unanswered calls from her.

"Maybe they're busy from practicing? Today's the general rehearsal, right?" Lucas asked.

She nodded, "Yeah, you're right... maybe they are... people are counting on them too much..."

Lucas nodded, "Yeah, don't worry too much. He's okay. You trust him, right?"

"Of course I do..."

Lunch time.

She still hasn't seen Mark, nor his shadow. Nor a reply to any of her messages. Oh yeah, Mark would be dead once he shows up.

"Eunmi-yah, why aren't you eating?" Irene asked.

She looked at her, "I'm full, unnie..." She said and sighed.

"You don't look okay to us, tell us what's wrong." Wendy said.

"Yeah and you look worried. Is something up?" Joy said.

"Well, a certain someone isn't replying to any of her messages, that's why. She also hasn't seen that person's shadow this day." Jaehyun answered for her, because he knew that his sister won't tell them.

"Eh? Are you and Mark fighting?" Yeri asked.

"I didn't even say that it was Mark." Eunmi rolled her eyes.

She was confused. Are they back to being enemies? She thought that there was something going on between them. Well, she thought.

He apologized for treating her differently everyday, but it's happening once again.

"Noona, I saw Mark-hyung earlier. He was with a girl, though." Jisung said.

"Jisung-ah." Taeyong warned him.

"Hyung, it's true." Jisung said.

They all looked at Eunmi to see her reaction, but she wasn't showing any. She just leaned her head on the table.

When she heard Jisung said that, she didn't know why, but she felt something twisting her gut. She decided to lean her head on the table, because she might cry in front of her friends if she doesn't.

"Eunmi-yah, are you okay?" She heard Wendy ask.

She just nodded.

Maybe she'll just keep on pretending that she's okay until she knows what's up with him.

33 missed calls. 21 voice messages. 23 text messages. No response.

She sighed and kept her phone. One more hour till the general rehearsal starts, and she still haven't heard anything about Mark.

"Noona, are you okay?" Renjun sat beside her.

They were all already inside the music hall since they were a part of the music club. She looked at Renjun and slightly nodded.

"Hyung's fine... he's just standing behind that curtain." Renjun pointed at the stage which was covered by a curtain.

"I'm doomed."

Mark said once he finally found someone with a charger. He sighed, scanning every text message that Eunmi sent him.

He shook his head while panicking, "No no no no no, shoot, I screwed up. Pabo-yah, pabo-yah, pabo-yah!" He stood up and placed the phone near his ear, expecting a shout from the other line.

But no to avail. Eunmi wasn't picking up her phone either.

He sighed and sat down, planning what to tell her once they see each other.

"You look so tense, are you nervous?" Sihyun asked him. "I should be the one who's nervous."

"About the performance? No. Eunmi? Yes." Mark answered, placing the phone down.

She laughed, "What happened?"

"My phone died and I saw her messages just now." He showed her his phone.

"Good luck." She said sarcastically.

"Mark-ssi, Sihyun-ssi, stand by."
