♤epilogue♤

one year later...

a lot had gone down in the past year.

yoongi and jimin finally told everyone they were dating.

namjoon and seokjin were still going strong, of course.

and hoseok finally took interest in someone for once after repeatedly saying he "wasn't looking for a realtionship". the person who changed that just so happened to be park bogum. long story.

aside from that, taehyung and jeongguk had been officially dating for eleven months now.

they were on their way back from a date, walking hand-in-hand, happier than ever.

to them, it seemed like every day was better than the last.

did they still argue like seven year olds even after their eleven month relationship? yes, but that's beside the point.

as they walked, no words needed to be said. they were content with just their fingers intertwined and the sound of their feet on the pavement.

taehyung realised how close their first anniversary was. this caused him to think back to some of the happiest moments of the past year.

~eleven months ago~

"i mean, i know you won't say no to this but i'm still nervous as fuck." jeongguk laughed nervously.

"ugh, just say it ggukie~" taehyung whined.

"fine! be my boyfriend right now, whore. happy?" jeongguk said.

"no! it has to be special ggukie!" taehyung complained.

"ugh, fine." jeongguk said before getting down on one knee as if he was proposing.

"kim taehyung. my baby. light of my life. my world. i love you more than anything and i love you more than anyone has ever loved anything. i know you love me too and i'm suprised you do because i'm a fucking train-wreck. thank you for putting up with me since before we could string proper sentences together. i could never see myself growing up with anyone but you just like i can't see myself loving anyone as much as i love you. so, taetae, will you be my boyfriend?" jeongguk finally asked.

taehyung stood there in shock, not expecting something so heart-felt to come from someone like jeongguk. i mean, tae knew him best after all so the fact that even he was suprised is saying something.

jeongguk groaned, "oh come on bitch, just say yes. i'm trying to be romantic here and you're just chillin'."

and there ya go. he's ruined it.

"oh fuck off bitch. and yes, i'll be your boyfriend because you're the love of my life you disgusting whore." taehyung said.

"yay! finally~" jeongguk cheered, standing up and pulling taehyung into his arms.

"kiss me~" taehyung pouted.

"hmmm okay... but you have to catch me first!" jeongguk said before running away.

"oh my god! jeongguk come back here!" taehyung screamed, chasing after him.

~six months ago~

it was break and the couple decided to go and visit jeongguk's parents.

ever since taehyung left home after highschool, he hadn't contacted his own parents. they didn't check up on him as much as they did with namjoon and, even when they did, he'd never pick up the phone. even if they called namjoon while taehyung was with him and asked to speak to him, taehyung would act like he wasn't there.

he just didn't feel like listening to his parents tell him how much of a disappointment he was, try to convince him to become a business man instead of an artist or try and lecture him about being successful and "marrying a lovely girl". they knew he was gay but still didn't respect that. that's why namjoon never even told them about his sexuality or about seokjin for a whole two years of their four-year relationship.

because of this, since taehyung left home, jeongguk's parents were more like his parents than his real ones and, to be honest, he didn't mind that.

even when taehyung was still living with his parents, he still liked jeongguk's more.

they were supportive of jeongguk's carreer choice, supportive of his sexuality, supportive of his decisions and they did so much for him when it came to his mental and physical well-being. not only all that, but they also treated taehyung in that way. they treated taehyung exactly how they treated jeongguk which is exactly what tae had wanted in his own home.

back then, jeongguk's house was like his little safe space.

that's why neither jeongguk or taehyung were afraid to introduce themselves as boyfriends to mr and mrs.jeon.

in fact, taehyung was really excited since he hadn't seen them in so long.

they arrived at the door, fingers intertwined, and knocked.

mere seconds later, mrs.jeon opened the door and immediately pulled taehyung into a bone-crushing hug.

"taehyung! darling, i missed you." the woman said.

"i missed you too mama." taehyung smiled brightly at her.

"um, hello? i'm your son." jeongguk rolled his eyes.

"oh shush, child! now come on you two, get inside." she said, pulling them into the house.

"ah, hello boys!" mr.jeon greeted them once they walked into the living room.

"hey papa." taehyung said.

"sup dad. how've you guys been?" jeongguk greeted.

"we've been great. we're happy you decided to drop by." his father answered.

"now," mrs.jeon said as she sat down and motioned for the two boys to do the same, "what was the big news you wanted to tell us?"

taehyung and jeongguk sat down. there were two sofas, opposite eachother with a coffee table in between. they sat on the couch that was opposite jeongguk's parents.

they looked at eachother and nodded before intertwining their fingers.

"mum, dad, you know that me and taehyung have been best friends since forever. well, we decided that we wanted to be more than friends." jeongguk explained.

"what d'you mean, honey?" mrs.jeon asked, confused by her son's words.

"i mean that..." jeongguk began.

"we're dating." they both said in unison.

"you mean like-"

"yes. taehyung is my boyfriend."

a few seconds of silence surrounded them until they suddenly heard mrs.jeon screeching.

"that's wonderful!" she screamed, clapping her little hands together excitedly.

taehyung and jeongguk smiled at her, sighing in relief.

"dad?" jeongguk asked.

although his father supported him now, he wasn't always very open to the idea of jeongguk being bisexual. he'd never met anyone who was and he didn't understand it. not to mention, he'd always thought that jeongguk would grow up to have a wife and kids so, when he told him that he liked boys too, he wasn't the most thrilled. over time, however, he came to accept and understand his son and knowing that his father supported him was one of the best feelings jeongguk had ever experienced.

his father smiled at the two, "that's great jeongguk. you two have always paired so well together. i'm glad he's who you've come to love. besides, i love taehyung like my own son anyway."

the couple smiled and taehyung spoke, "thank you papa."

"okay okay! enough of this sappy stuff! tell us how it happened!" mrs.jeon interrupted the sentimental moment.

they laughed and jeongguk began the story including realising his feelings, park bogum, the huge fight, getting locked in the dorm, confessing their feelings and finally when they became official.

"well, it started when..."

~two months ago~

taehyung and jeongguk were stargazing at a secret spot they used to go to in their freshman year of highschool.

it was a grassy cliff-like clearing on the other side of the woods near their old school. past the edge, it overlooked a feild that became full of tulip flowers in spring.

they were laying with their backs against the grass, looking up into the clear, stary night sky.

"it feels like forever since i've been here." taehyung said.

"same. we need to visit more often, just us. i remember when we were like fourteen. climbing up here to look at the clouds." jeongguk replied.

"yeah, and play fight like wild animals." taehyung giggled.

"that too. oh and when we used to throw rocks off the ledge and whosever went the furthest got to ask the other for anything they wanted." jeongguk recalled.

"oh yeah! i lost so much fucking money to you because of that stupid game." taehyung groaned.

"losers weepers." jeongguk commented.

"oh wait!" taehyung suddenly shot up and ran over to the tree next to them.

he used the flashlight on his phone to light up a certain area on the bark of the oak tree.

"look! it's still here." taehyung said, happy.

jeongguk walked over and immediately smiled, "oh yeah."

a heart was carved into the tree with the initials T+J in the middle.

"god, we were so cliché." taehyung giggled.

"i know right. look at all this other shit too." jeongguk pointed.

scattered across the tree were a ton of small carvings, all made by the two boys, saying stuff like this:

"jeongguk was here"

"so was taehyung"

"♡taetae + ggukie♡"

"ur a bitch, dad"

"imagine being a hoe. so basically, imagine being taehyung."

"jeon jeongguk is a whore but you didn't hear it from me baby."

along with various doodles of hearts, stars, weird imaginary creatures and themselves.

"ah, those were the days." taehyung sighed.

"they really were."

jeongguk picked up taehyung and carried him bridal style towards the edge that was overlooking the tulip feild, ignoring his questions.

he placed the boy down on the grass near the ledge and then sat next to him, looking into the dark horizon.

"what was that for?" taehyung asked.

"i've been meaning to give this to you but i just couldn't find the right time and i'm not good with romantic shit so just- here you go." jeongguk blurted, holding out a small box for taehyung to take, which he did.

taehyung opened it up and what he saw made his eyes water.

two matching promise rings.

each one was made with silver, blue topaz and white sapphires.

"blue topaz because it's your birthstone and sapphire is mine. i wanted to get ones with normal blue sapphire but the blue-on-blue made them look tacky. do you like it?" jeongguk asked.

"do i like it? i love it. i love you." taehyung sniffled, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend.

"good because i used the allowance my parents give me every month to save up for them." jeongguk chuckled.

taehyung giggled, "why do you insist on ruining every pretty moment we have? and how expensive were they?!"

"because i'm bad at being sappy while taking it seriously. and they were like seven-hundred each and i was only gonna get you one but then, when i saw it, i wanted one too~" he whined.

"you spent fourteen-hundred on two rings?! jesus, jeongguk i tell you not to spoil me and then you do this! we're in college! seriously, i can't believe you did this." taehyung said, over the moon with joy but also feeling spoiled rotten.

if this is one of the hundreds of perks that come with falling for jeongguk, count me in. i should've expected this, this is what i get for falling in love with a guy who comes from a rich ass family.

"don't worry, it's the allowance my parents always give me. it's not like i'm still paying college fees or anything so it was no big deal. not for you, anyway. now put it on dumby." jeongguk rushed.

and so taehyung opened the box once again and slipped the jewlery onto his left ring finger, it fit perfectly. he also handed the other one to jeongguk who put it on the same finger too.

taehyung held it up towards the moonlight and stared at it in awe before grabbing jeongguk's face and kissing him.

"i love you so much. so so much." taehyung said.

"do you promise?" jeongguk asked, connecting their hands and looking down at the ring on taehyung's finger.

"yes. i promise."

~back to the present~

taehyung giggled to himself as he thought of how amazing his relationship with jeongguk had been.

"what's so funny?" his boyfriend asked.

"oh nothing. i'm just thinking about us. our one year anniversary will be soon." tae revealed.

"i know, i can't wait. what d'you wanna do?" jeongguk asked, letting go of taehyung's hand only to pull him to his side, arm around his waist as they continued to walk.

"i have no idea. i don't want anything big. you already spend too much on me." taehyung said.

"you don't want anything big, huh? i guess you don't want this dick then! ha!" jeongguk joked.

taehyung slapped him in the head, blushing madly, "shut up jeongguk! don't scream dick in the middle of the street at 9pm."

"i don't know why you always get so shy, it's not like we haven't had- OW!"

he got smacked again.

"if i didn't love you this much, i would've broken up with you months ago." taehyung said, rolling his eyes.

"i know~ but i like annoying you." he said, poking his cheek before kissing it lightly.

"well, i won't drag you since i like annoying you too and because you're cute." taehyung giggled.

"i know i am." jeongguk smiled teasingly.

"oh shut up, we're here." taehyung laughed as they walked up to the front of the college building.

they made their way inside and upstairs to their dorm room.

once they opened the door, all five of their friends were already there.

"hey guys." jeongguk greeted.

"hey~" everyone said.

"how was your date?~" hoseok asked teasingly.

"it's been almost a year but you still act like we got together last week." taehyung laughed.

"anyway, shut up hoseok. i heard from the talk around campus that you were hanging out with bogum last week. alone~" jeongguk revealed.

"oooo~" seokjin said, "hoseok and bogum sittin' in a-"

"be quiet!" hoseok screeched, blushing, before shooting both jeongguk and seokjin in the forehead with his nerf gun.

"hey, don't shoot my husband!" namjoon yelled, rubbing seokjin's forehead with his thumb.

"you're not even married!" hoseok argued.

taehyung spoke up, "hey, i don't know if you realised since you guys were being stupid, but yoongi and jimin are just sucking eachother's faces off in the corner."

hoseok looked over and made a disgusted face, "ew, yoongi get you tongue out of his throat, it's not just you two in the room you know."

yoongi and jimin pulled away from eachother and yoongi spoke, "oh please, like you and bogum weren't cutting off eachother's oxygen supply yesterday."

"that's true, hoseokie." jimin giggled.

"oh my god, why does everyone keep bringing up bogum!" hoseok yelled, shoving his face into a pillow.

"ugh, i'm going to change. i'll be back." jeongguk sighed, walking into the bedroom.

taehyung went and sat down with the others and the bickering died down as everyone turned their focus back to the television.

soon they heard a yell and barking coming from the room nextdoor.

"uh oh..." jimin mumbled.

"what?" yoongi whispered.

"just wait. three... two... one..." jimin counted.

"TAEHYUNG YOU BITCH!"

"there it is." jimin said.

jeongguk came storming in.

"WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT THAT FUCKING CREATURE!"

"YEONTAN IS NOT A CREATURE, HE'S A DOG, BABE!" taehyung yelled.

"SAME SHIT! IT FUCKING BIT ME AGAIN!" jeongguk screamed.

"THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM IF TANNIE HATES YOU. IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE YOU'RE SUCH A BITCH."

"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!"

"A BITCH! B-I-T-C-H."

"YOU'RE SO DEAD."

and that's when the chasing began.

although they were madly in love with eachother, some things never change.

deep down, they were still enemies.
