Chapter one - The Eight Archangel
Elijah closed off his last book for the night. As for the other angles, they'd already left. Only then did he had noticed the amount of hours he'd spent in that library.
"Maybe one more book couldn't hurt." Elijah thought, reaching for one of his favourite novels in the shelves when he was interrupted by a tall angel wearing a robe the shade of lamb's wool, that looked down at Elijah with an eyebrow rose.
"Elijah, what are doing here? I'd thought you'd left already" Uriel calmly said.
"Oh no you see...well - I..." Elijah paused, and cleared his throat.
This was not the first time that he was met with one of the chief angels late in the library. There were other times when he had been told to go home.
"Now come on, let's head back home before father becomes upset with us. Besides, you're needed tomorrow" said Uriel, as he ushered Elijah out.
That following morning, Elijah had already gotten out of bed and prepared himself for his big day. For the past five years, Elijah was always known to be loyal to the archangels.
He was always trusted by them. Elijah started off as a messenger angel, until Gabriel had met him. Ever since then, all seven chief angels found that Elijah was very special and that he possesses something great.
For some reason, Elijah seemed to have a different type of spirit to the others. In time, Elijah became closer and closer to becoming the next archangel, which was almost impossible, until today.
"Angels of heaven. As you all know, we are gathered here this very day to celebrate the honor of Elijah. One of our most trusted messenger angels ever since. But now he has proven to be more." Gabriel said to the crowd of angels.
"Yes indeed. Three days ago that night, Elijah was sent into the dream of a pregnant woman who had not known about the horrible outcome of her new born baby girl. Elijah hadn't stopped there." Said Raphael.
"Instead, that following due day, Elijah watched as the woman panicked about her child's health from the moment the doctors had taken her. This sneaky angel made his way down to the mortal world and blessed the baby with great health and strength with father's help and guidance." Announced Uriel.
"Yes and ever since that day, our student Elijah proved himself to strong, wise, trusting and responsible. So that is we are handing over one of father's most trusted positions to the new, archangel, Elijah." Said Michael, as an angel passed him a small white chest with golden designs around it's edges.
With that, he clicked open the locks on it's sides, and took out a silver necklace.
The necklace's jewels glimmered with holy light, and it's diamond cross twirled with such grace, astounding the crowd of celestials.
Elijah knelt down to retrieve the specimen from his fellow teacher Michael, as it was placed over his head and around his neck.
"Make us proud, young archangel." He smiled.
"Is there anything you'd like to say Elijah?" Uriel said.
"Yes, right." Elijah whispered, and stood up straight, with his necklace sparkling among the angels.
"First, I want to thank father, and the seven archangels that had supported me and saw faith. I wouldn't have been standing up here this very day, without them. I vow, and promise to play my part, and do my best as the eight archangel of heaven and hope to make them proud." Elijah gladly said, and then turned to his teachers.
"Thank you." He said, receiving a smile from them in return.
