Chapter 3 - A little chat

Hours later that night, Uriel knocked on Elijah's bedroom door, and received no response. After giving it a second and heard nothing, he decided to open the door. Uriel walked into a quiet room with no Elijah, and shut the windows.

Remembering the one place that Elijah would be at around this time, Uriel sprouted his wings and took off through the balcony.

Elijah placed his eleventh book on the stack that he read previously. He then grabbed another one and began to read. The topic of them all was about that grey winged angels of God. But unfortunately, none of them provided the actually and specific answer he longed for. Book after book, page after page, and still, nothing.

Elijah then rubbed his tiered eyes, knowing that it was high time he got some rest.

He sprouted his wings and flew to the top of the shelves where the much older books were, and saw many with stories based on heaven back then, but not on unequal angels.

The full moon was at it's highest, and it's light shone through the windows, brightening up the shelves. Elijah grabbed a few books to go, but then the shadow of an angel's figure appeared.

Rolling his eyes with a sigh, he slowly turned to archangel Uriel, who had an eyebrow risen, and his arms crossed.

"Looking for something, Elijah?" He questioned.

"Maybe" Elijah said with another sigh.

"And that gives you the excuse to be up here this hour of the night?" Smirked Uriel, staring at the books held by Elijah.

"I thought that you all were used to me staying up this late?" Elijah plainly.

"Elijah, as an archangel..." Uriel began

"And here we go again." Elijah complained in a mumble.

"You have to understand that you're in an important position now." Uriel said with and index finger risen.

"I know, and I am great full for it but, this is me." said Elijah, as he flew back to the tables.
"And this is what I do." He continued, adding one of his previous books to his collection.

Uriel sighed and followed him down.

"Yes i understand, and i can't change that, but you should know that what you've done for that mortal woman was miraculous. You have truly earned you're place as an archangel." Uriel spoke.

"Okay but now now that I'm an archangel, what is next?" Elijah questioned.

"Listen, father chose you to be a chief angel for a reason. I know it means that you should pack away you're old habits, but you must understand that not any angel gets this title." Uriel said with a chuckle, setting his hand upon Elijah.

"So you understand where I'm coming from?" Uriel asked.

"Of course." Smiled Elijah.

"Nothing's wrong with reading two or three books, but what we're expecting from you is that you be more present around the castle, to our meetings, and many more." Uriel explained.

"Is, that all?" Elijah asked.

"Even better. We guide the mortals through life. Help them make the right decision. We reach them in their dreams. And we can call on personal assistance." Uriel said with a grin.

"Well I enjoy the sound of that." Elijah said with agreement.

"So, were you looking for this?" Uriel asked, holding up a white cover thick book with a diamond emblem on the front.
