Chapter 42
THIRD PERSON P.O.V.
"So, how's it going for you two," the silver haired male questioned as he spoke into the phone, looking at his two friend's face.
Nijika frowned and shook her head in disappointment, "Nope, I can't find a single thing with aura in it." She muttered as she looked at her phone's screen, observing Killua and Gon's face.
"I found two but..." Gon trailed off looked slightly puzzled as he cocked his head to the side.
Killua who saw this small action narrowed his blue eyes, "I found two myself, but on each of them, there already was a price proposed by a 'Zepile'. I already doubled his price, so we need to wait if he'll quadruple mine..."
Nijika frowned as she ran her fingers through the wig, "Hm," she hummed as a curious look appeared in her eyes, "That can't be a coincidence huh?"
Gon and Killua nodded, agreeing to their female friend's statement, "This person may be using the same trick we are," Killua said as he walked through the crowded streets while looking at the screen. The teen's eyes carefully looking at the stalls filled with items.
"What are we gonna do?" Gon questioned as he scratched his chin while thinking deeply.
Nijika stopped for a moment as she noticed a object emitting aura from the corner of her eyes. As she walked to it, she realized it was rather large wooden sculpture that looked like it wouldn't worth anything. Her mouth quirked up slightly as she read the name that was already on the paper, "Hey, I found an item as well. Zepile already had his name written down." The silver haired female stated as she wrote her own name down, doubling the price.
"Seriously?" Killua questioned, "It's no doubt about it, this guy must know nen!" The male exclaimed positive of his theory.
Nijika and Gon both nodded in agreement. Though a look of doubt could be noticed in the female's eyes.
"Even if we increase our offer, it's possible he'll outbid us, it ends at noon, right?" Nijika questioned as she looked at the time.
"Yeah," Killua confirmed as he smirked slightly, "We'll write out prices right before it ends. Cause I f we try to play with this 'Zepile' person, it'll cost us a lot..."
The female of the group nodded in understanding, "That's a good plan, in the worst case we would still get three objects."
The three teen nodded at each other before ending the call.

"Oh! You had this at home?" The portly man who was the owner of the store questioned as he looked at the three objects they bought.
The silver haired female innocently nodded her head as she looked over the counter, struggling on her tip toes, "Yup! Nii-chan and I found it in our abandoned attic!" Nijika exclaimed as she brightly smiled.
Killua eagerly nodded as leaned against the counter, much like how Nijika did, "Yeah! Our parents told us that I could sell it depending on the price, so I brought it!"
Gon sweat dropped amazed at the two's amazing acting as siblings, 'Their both so smart...'
The man started to sweat slightly as he pointed at the painting Killua was able to get, "Those are nice objects! This painting for example, it's a lithography by Muca Tolinni, the series is limited to 50 print, plus it's also signed...." The man paused as he lifted his head up, "I would give you 150,000 Jenis for it."
Killua and Gon opened their mouth and wowed.
"Next," the man looked at the female doll carefully, "A wonderful entirely hand made doll... It's in good shape, and the fact that the wrapping and content are entirely intact gives it value. I'll give you 300,000 jenis for it."
Once again the boys opened their mouth in amazement, Nijika on the other hand nodded slightly.
The man suddenly picked up the wooden sculpture Nijika was able to get, "As for this one..."
Nijika suddenly frowned as she saw the look of the man's face change slightly before going back to normal.
'That's not something a regular person will do....' The female thought to herself with narrows eyes.
"I'm sorry, but this one isn't worth that much..."
Nijika blocked out the man's words as she carefully observed his body language and facial expressions.
Her eyes twitched as she noticed the man kept looking up right... A habit many people had when they were nervous or lying.
"Aww, only 1,500 jenis?" Gon whined, snapping the female out of her thoughts.
As Killua and Gon discussed with each other Nijika continued to observe this man.
'I'm not trusting him anymore, at the beginning he seemed sincere but, after he saw the wooden sculpture he suddenly became enthusiastic and rather desperate.... His eyes darting, his hands twitching and abnormal amount of sweating when the air conditioner is perfectly working...' Nijika thought to herself as she made mental notes in her mind.
The female suddenly jumped up and became immediately guarded at the large voice echoing through the room.
"Don't move! And leave that piece of wood where it is!" A man with funky eyebrows yelled as he pointed his index finger at the man who held the wooden sculpture.
The three children and the man look at the new person in surprise.
The man with short brown haired looked at four of them with a stern look, "Don't be tricked children! For the painting and doll, the prices were honest, but for the wood he's cheating you."
The silver haired female scoffed and flipped her hair over her shoulder, "I know, it's quite obvious." She spoke in her natural tone surprising the store owner and the man who suddenly enter the conversation.
'Her character changed!' The man both thought as Killua and Gon both sweat dropped at their friends action.
"His eyes were darting out of nervousness while his hands twitch every second. And even if he's a portly man, he's perspiring at an unusual amount in an air conditioned room," Nijika explained to her two male friends who had a look of surprise on their face.
'Damn, I was so amazed by the prices, I didn't realize those signs!' Killua takes as he bit his thumb nail in slight frustration.
The man with short brown hair seemed to snap out of his surprise before pointing a finger at the man behind the counter, "The little miss is right. What you're truly interested in is what's inside the wooden sculpture!"
Nijika rose a silver, clean eyebrow up, curious in what this new man was saying... She may have been able to detect the store owner lying but she had absolute no knowledge of the item she bought off the auction.
The man rolled up his red long sleeves of his blazer and held the wooden sculpture in his hand, "It's a wooden chest isn't it? About 300 years ago, this kind of chest was used by the rich to hide their treasure."
Killua and Nijika both looked impressed before they shared looks.
'Do you think this one is lying?' Killua mouthed as he pointed at the new man with his finger behind his back.
Nijika observed him for a couple of seconds before shaking her head, 'What do you think?' She mouthed back as jutted her chin forward aiming at the man.
Killua looked thoughtful for a moment before nodding, 'He doesn't seem like he's lying.'
The two teens nodded before turning their attention back to the man as he examined the item in his hand.
"There's a detail that only a trained eye can see," he explained as he pointed at some part of the sculpture, "These points indicate that the chest never had been open after it's seeking. If it's an original it must contain a huge quality of precious objects." A smirk appeared on the man's face as he gave a mocking look at the man at the counter, "You wanted to pretend to check the age of the wood, and use that chance to empty the chest right?"
My eyes narrowed as the portly man started to stutter and sweat.
>>TIME SKIPS>>
Nijika politely ate while the three male in front of her scarfed down the food brought in front of them.
After exiting the store, the items in hand, the three children found out their savior was Zepile, the man who was also auctioning on the object they found aura in.
After few moments of talking it was decided that the children will buy the man lunch in thanks.
"Another chicken kebab please!" Zepile ordered as he finished his third plate of food, much to Nijika's annoyance.
"Oh! I want another one too! How about you guy, Gon, Nijika?" Killua questioned as he looked at his two friends.
Nijika wiped her mouth with a napkin and shook her head, "No thanks I lost my appetite watching you guys scarf your food down," the female crinkled her nose in disgust.
"Well I want another one as well so make it three orders please!" Gon yelled at the waiter energetically.
As Zepile pushed more food into his mouth, Gon decided to speak, "Ne, Zepile-San, I've thought for a bit, and well..." The spiky haired boy paused giving Nijika and Killua side way glances, "I think inviting you to lunch isn't enough, I'd like to give you a commission!"
"Hah?!" Nijika and Killua both exclaimed as they looked at Gon with annoyance.
"This again?" Killua whined as he gritted his teeth while sweat dropping.
The older male just laughed and shook his head, "Ah? No, don't worry the meal is enough for me. Miss! A miso soup with tofu please!"
Nijika cover her eyes with her hands and sighed, 'Oh please, don't order more food! This is going to be expensive!'
Killua on the other hand yelled at Gon, "What he said, Gon! See? He ate like ten plates!" The silver haired male suddenly looked up and waved at the waitress, "I'll take the rice with crab!"
Nijika growled and smack Killua over his head, with a vein popping in her fist, "Stop ordering so much Killua! We need to save money alright?" The female scolded Killua who whined childishly.
Gon who was already used to the two's interaction looked at Zepile in worry, "But... I..."
Zepile just waved off the ravenette, "I'm serious! It's ok! In exchange you explain something to me."
Killua and Nijika immediately stopped their fighting, both of them holding each other's cheeks pausing from pulling on it, making it red. They looked at each other for a second, having a silent truce for a moment before turning their attention towards the older male, letting go of each other's cheek in process.
"How did you size up those three items?"
"Size up?" Gon questioned as he tilted his head.
Killua shrugged his shoulder and looked at the female beside him, "What does that mean?"
Nijika just stayed silent as she fixed her dressed that was messed up from the small fight with Killua.
"What?!" Zepile yelled in shock as he leaned forward on the table, "If you don't know what 'size up' means, how did you choose those three objects? Don't tell me it was pure coincidence!"
The three children shared a look...
>>TIME SKIPS>>
"Nen? Aura?"
Gon nodded as he stopped his eating for a moment, "Yeah..."
Killua too, put down his fork and swallowed so he could talk, "After some training we reached to see them...."
The other silver haired female stayed silent as she drank the cup of milk tea slowly. Her eyes flickered towards the adult in front of them, eyeing his action carefully.
"Hm, I see," Zepile hummed as he placed his chin in his hand, "If that's true, that would explain why you chose the wooden sculpture ignoring what it could contain. And also that you didn't have any interest in the other common objects with some value."
"Heh?" Gon questioned in surprise, his brown eyes going round, "What were the other ones?"
"Fashionable watched, products from brand names, old phone cards, simply objects that weren't directly made by hand. But their price suffer such variation that even experts rarely risk them," Zepile went on explaining, though suddenly he leaned forwards. A look of interest and excitement appearing on his face.
"And why do you need money so much?"
Killua blankly stared at the male as he started to eat once again, "I thought you only had one question." The male rudely stated as he glared at the adult.
Zepile whined as he complained, "Aw, com'n!"
Killua and Nijika's eyes met for a second before Nijika placed the teacup on the table.
"Let's make a deal," both silvernette chorused as they looked at an astonished Zepile.
"We'll answer you, but then it's our turn to ask you something," Nijika spoke as she looked at the man with her piercing blue eyes.
Zepile nodded before frowning at the two, "Alright, but you two need to stop doing your twin thing."
"Actually, we're not twin." Killua and Nijika both chorused as they looked at each other.
"Lies!" Zepile yelled as he pointed his finger at them, "You just did it again!"
Nijika sighed as she scratches her head, quite annoyed by the long hair. She wanted to cut off the damn wig already, "My name is Nijika Kijime while he," she pointed her thump at the male beside her, "Is Killua Zoldyck; we're not related. I'm just looking like him as a disguise."
Zepile's eyes seemed grow larger as he stared at the two teens, "Z-Z-Zoldyck?! And K-Kijime?"
Already used to the reaction, the two nonchalantly shrugged their small shoulders.
"Anyways," Killua interrupted in annoyance, "We want to bid on some auctions, for that we need money. "
Zepile nodded in understanding, "Ho... What kind of objects?"
Nijika tsk-ed as she shook her finger, "Nuh uh! Our turn. How much do you think we can get from the wooden sculpture?"
"It depends on the content inside, but it won't be under 100 million."
Killua whistled as Gon gapped in shock, "100..."
"So, what was the item you wanted to get?" Zepile asked once again in interest.
"A game called 'Greed Island'."
A look of recognition appeared on the man's face as his bushy eyebrows rose, "What...? That stupid expensive game? That won't be easy...."
Killua then pointed at the pot that was placed beside Zepile, "How much will you get for that weird pot that you got?"
"Hah? This?" Zepile questioned as he placed a hand on the pot, "Its only a trinket, it doesn't have any value."
A look of surprise appeared on the three children's face as they heard his words.
'No value?' Nijika thought in surprise, though she yawned and rubbed her eyes tiredly.
She leaned on Killua, burring her face near his neck and shoulder, hiding her face with the mop of silver hair.
'He needs a hair cut....' She thought as she yawned once again.
"O-Oi, what are you doing?!" Killua hissed, though he didn't move the female off of his shoulder.
Nijika smiled slightly and placed her legs over Gon's lap, getting comfortable, "I'm tired from staying up all night. I'm going to take a small nap until you guys finish eating and talking, wake me up when we pay and leave." She mumbled, her warm breath directly hitting Killua's neck and ear.
Surprisingly, the well trained assassin flinched as his face turned red in embarrassment.
Zepile who saw this action smirked and wiggled his eyebrows in a suggesting manner.
Killua frowned and glared at him, "Do not say anything," he hissed as he warned the male.
Zepile raised his hand up in defensive though he chuckled in amusement.
Gon who was ignoring the conversation between the two males stared at his two friends.
His brown eyes were round with curiosity as he continued to observe the two. Though the innocent male stopped when his brain seemed to grow warm as steam started to appear at the top of his head.
When he gave one last look to Nijika who was leaned against Killua, he was surprised that the female was already asleep.
'Maji?! She's a quicker sleeper than I am!' Gon chuckled in amusement.
>>TIME SKIPS>>
"Why am I doing this again?" Killua complained as he shifted the girl on his back.
Nijika just grumbled out a response, her voice muffled by Killua's hair and shoulder.
"What?" Killua snapped as he looked back at her.
Nijika lifted her head and eyed Killua with drowsy eyes, "I can't feel my legs.... So you're carrying me."
The silver haired male huffed in annoyance but stayed silent, fearing the wrath of the female.
Killua looked forward and watched as Zepile and Gon converse with each other. The younger male leading their new friend to their motel they were staying at.
"So you guys decided he was trustworthy enough?" The female whispered lowly so Killua was the only one that could hear her.
Killua shrugged his shoulders in an nonchalant manner. He stopped walking in middle of the street so he could readjust the hold he had on his friend.
"Hm, well since Gon seems to trust him... Though he said he wanted to help us," Killua explained as he went back to walking.
Nijika sighed and shook her head before relaxing, "That Gon, one day he's going to get himself killed for believing the wrong guy..."
Killua chuckled in amusement as he walked into the motel, "Well, that's why we're here right? We're not innocent like he is. I mean, we're his friends, we're the ones that gets him out of trouble right?" The silver haired teen questioned as he started to climb the stairs up the second floor.
Nijika nodded in agreement, a smile gracing her face.
"Yup, we're here to protect each other!"
As the two smiled at each other a certain black haired boy dressed in green noticed them falling back.
"Ooooiiiii!!!! Killua!! Nijika!! Hayaku! Hayaku!" Gon yelled waving his arm above his head.
The two chuckled at Gon's childish action, "Well," Killua muttered.
Nijika tilted her head to the side in confusion.
"You can walk."
Nijika's eyes widen in shock as the hold Killua had on her disappeared as she landed on the ground with a painful thud to her tush.
The silver haired male cackled as he took off not making sure if the female was okay.
Nijika's silver bangs covered her eyes as she growled lowly.
"KIIIIIIIILUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"
