Chapter 2: New League
"Oh boy," I mumbled. If he was really related to Superman, it wouldn't end well.
The 'Superboy' tackled Aqualad to the ground. Robin and KF tried to pull him off. Superboy lashed out knocking KF into a wall rendering him unconscious. I stood frozen, life expected me to take out a Jr. Superman right after I had a panic attack, and he already took out two of my superpowered friends. He knocked Robin to the ground standing on his chest causing him to pass out from lack of air.
"Robin!" I screeched and ran to him. Robin being put into danger sent me into a frenzy, knocking me out of her shock.
I forced Superboy off of him with a blast of air and looked over Robin. He was breathing, but unconscious. I touched his cheek gently; I was ready to slap the bird boy to wake him up.
I felt something above me, more precisely, someone. I looked up and saw the Superboy. He pulled his fist back, and that was the last thing before an inky blackness took me over.

Waking up in a glass chamber sent me into panic mode. I was sick and tired of waking up in pain in a glass chamber. That stupid round cage was where I spent a majority of my childhood.
"No, no, no, no, no! Not again!" I screamed, struggling against my bonds.
I looked over, finding that the other three were waking up. Robin glanced at me and immediately struggled against his binds like he was trying to get to me, an instinct. Both of us were always there for each other. Even if there was a wall, a river, an ocean, we'll try.
"(Y- (H/n) it's going to be okay." He insisted, knowing he couldn't get to me physically.
I ignored him. He knew what I had been through but he wasn't there he didn't feel the pain that I felt, the lack of hope. Knowing that no one could ever find you and wondering if you or your captor would die first.
"N-no it won't. They'll torture me just like the Brain did." I sobbed. I couldn't be strong anymore, my mom's words eluded me. Being brave seemed like the last thing to do. I had been brave for the past 7 years, it was time to cry.
"I will not let that happen." Robin stated calmly. I looked in front of me seeing the Superboy staring at me with curiosity. That really ticked me off.
"What? Am I the first girl you've ever seen?" I snapped, scowling.
"You are." He stated, I was taken aback by him talking.
"You can talk, that means you're intelligent. Have you ever seen the sun?" I asked trying to take my mind off of the situation at hand, besides, maybe I could get some information off of him.
"Images are planted in my mind, but... no."
"We can show you, pretty sure it's past midnight, but we can show you the moon." KF tried to convince him.
"But Cadmus is my home!" Superboy yelled, I knew he wanted to leave despite his arguments. The way he hesitated.
"You home is a glass container." KF pointed out.
I visibly paled, Robin noticed- of course he did Batman's ward here. Batman is the greatest detective in the world. "KF do not mention that around (H/n)!" He scolded.
"We can show you, introduce you to Superman." Aqualad tried to convince him yet again.
"No they can't," Desmond entered the lab, "They'll be otherwise occupied. Activate the cloning process."
They forced Superboy to leave the room and walk back to his containment unit. Needles were forcefully stabbed into me. Waves of electricity followed by pain overcame. I screamed in pain, squeezing my eyes shut. Stupid scientists, stupid Cadmus, stupid Desmond. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
The electricity halted. I looked up panting and shaking to find Superboy standing in front of us again. Robin quickly jumped over to my cage freeing my hands. I didn't ask how he got out; I didn't have to. Once he freed me he cupped my face in his gloved hands making me look at him. His domino mask looked into mine, but I could tell his eyes were calm, while mine were wide and scared. Even with the masks we knew how the other felt.
"Deep breaths, in, out, in, out." He instructed. I nodded doing what he said, it's because of him that my anxiety and panic attacks were rare occurrences.
"Hey you two! Move it or lose it!" KF yelled.
Robin jumped down helping me down with him. We quickly ran out of the lab into the hallways. We stopped when genomorphs surrounded us. Superboy lashed out distracting them long enough for Aqualad to force open the elevator doors. I used a gust of air to blow all of us up. I heard a scratching noise and quickly realized the elevator was coming down. Crap. I jumped onto the nearest floor. Superboy led us through the hallways until we reached a dead end. I groaned in frustration.
"Look!" Robin pointed at an air vent. We took off the cover and jumped into the vent.
I crawled through the vents with Robin behind me. I jumped out of the vents with Robin following my actions. We started running up the stairs. When we reached the next level genomorphs surrounded us glowing, and I passed out.

I woke up after a load roar irritated my ears. Robin was carrying me. Quickly jumping out of his arms I observed the situation at hand. A strange beast was attacking everyone. I didn't have time to question how or why. Instead, I quickly threw fire at the beast. I looked at the support beams around me and smirked. Placing my hands at my sides, I yanked them up. I uprooted the support beams, bringing the ceiling down with them.
Throwing my arms out I kept most of the concrete away from our group. Someone pulled me out of the rubble. I coughed trying to get fresh air into my lungs. Once my coughing fit was over, I looked at everyone. Their uniforms were ripped, I looked down at my own and groaned at the rips in it.
The Justice League landed at the scene. They looked surprised, proud, and angry. The corners of my lips turned upwards at their reactions. I motioned for Superboy to follow me. He looked at me hesitantly before following after me.
I stood beaming in front of Uncle Super; he looked at me, then Superboy curiously, noticing the resemblance between us.
"Uncle Super, this is Superboy. I guess he's your... son." Everyone seemed to stop talking and stare at the unfolding scene.
"Explain." Batman ordered.
After we explained the situation, the experimentation, the clones, and Desmond, the league was left to discuss the best course of action. Wonder Woman put her hand on my shoulder. I jumped slightly then regained my composure. I had been staring off into space for the past five minutes.
"I hope you didn't go through too much. You are my favorite niece after all." She smiled.
I smiled back fakely, "I'm fine Aunt Wonder." She nodded and left. Slowly, the rest of the league followed. Finally, it was just Flash, Batman, and Aquaman talking to KF, Robin, and Aqualad.
"Are you related to everyone on the Justice League?" Superboy asked with curious eyes, mentally trying to make the family tree. I laughed.
"I'm just close to everyone."
We walked back into an argument, and by the looks of it, the 'sidekicks' were losing. I rolled my eyes, they needed the league's favorite to help them.
"Uncle Flash, Uncle Aqua, Uncle Bat, please?" I begged, they all sighed nodding.
"I'm going tolike having her on the team." KF announced. I laughed and jumped onto his back. He stumbled then started running around giving me a piggyback ride.
Once he put me down I held onto my stomach taking deep breaths.
"I forgot that that turns your stomach upside down." I groaned, usually I was fine, but after this I was shaken up, not a good time to zeta.

On our way back to Mount Justice Robin caught up to me. We walked alongside each other in a comfortable silence for a moment before he spoke up, being quiet so the adults wouldn't hear us.
"I realized something when we were in the vents." He whispered lowly.
"What?"
"That you look nice from behind." He smirked. I stood in shock and silence for a moment before walking again.
"Perv." I mumbled under my breath, a blush spreading across my masked face. Robin was too adorkable to be taken seriously.

"This is the old headquarters for the Justice League. It's been (H/n)'s home, but now it will be your base. Red Tornado will supervise and Black Canary will train you, You six will be covert, doing the missions the league can't," Batman announced. I looked at the guys, last time I counted there was only five of us.
"Six?" I questioned, last time I checked there was only 5 of us, counting me.
"This is Miss Martian, Martian Manhunter's niece." Flash introduced. A green girl with red hair and freckles waved shyly. I already felt bad for her, KF would flirt with her nonstop.
"Welcome aboard. I'm Kid Flash, that's Robin, Aqualad, Superboy, and (H/n)." KF introduced.
"I am so glad there's another girl on this team." I sighed in relief. No way could I deal with only boys on every mission.

I walked into my room at the cave, groaning and plopping down on my bed. I pulled my boots off and threw them to a random spot in my room.
"Warning, unknown guest in the room, would you like me to set off alarm sequence?" My alarm system SASS -Safety and Security System- asked.
"Override 0134, set recognition name: Robin." I ordered not looking up. I took off my costume, it was Robin, not only that, but I was wearing a tank top and leggings under it, he wouldn't care.
"How did you know it was me?" He questioned, blushing slightly, that was new. I sighed standing up to look at him, he was in civvies. I made my way to my closet, grabbing a hoodie and slipping it on.
"Miss Martian and Superboy don't know where my room is yet, KF went home, and all the League members have recognitions." I explained, I took my mask off last and set it on the dresser.
"Yeah, I've noticed that you've been... different since Cadmus."
"I've been acting perfectly normal." I argued. Robin sighed and shut my door.
"You haven't you've been quiet and docile and jumpy. That's not you, you're supposed to be outgoing, and fierce, and brave."
"I'm not any of those things." I scoffed. Before he could continue talking, I took his tinted glasses off looking into his eyes, they weren't icy yet they weren't sky blue, they were perfect. I couldn't take it anymore and turned around closing my eyes tightly.
"But you are, not only that but you're beautiful, and smart, and kind. I want to know, are you okay?"
"I'm fine!" I whipped around. Tears threatened to fall, my hands were at my sides, shaking immensely, "Is that what you want to hear?"
"I want the truth!"
"No! I'm not okay," I became quieter, "I thought I was better, that it was all behind me, but it isn't. I've spent the last 6 years trying to forget what they did to me, but I'll never be able to forget that. Back it Cadmus, it was like a slap to the face. The torture... I died a little more each day."
I sunk to my knees, crying. It wasn't loud, or sobbing. It was worse; it was silent, as if everyone was asleep. The kind of crying you could feel in your throat, and your sight becomes blurry. The type of crying where you hold your breath and clutch your stomach because you can't breath. The type of crying that only happens when you're broken.
Robin bent down next to me, pulling me closer. I clung onto him, making sure he was real. He ran his hand through my hair, rocking back and forth slowly. Eventually I calmed down, taking in slow, shuddering breaths.
"(Y/n), you're the strongest person I know- besides a few heroes- but you've survived so much, and it's made you into what you are today. Those memories will never go away, they'll taunt you and say you're not good enough, but you've gotta fight back and say 'I'm strong and beautiful,, and you can't change that.' I will never let anything happen to you." He hugged me tighter, continuing to rock back and forth gently. I brought my head up from his chest, my lips right next to his ear.
"Thank you Dick, you're my hero, and I needed a hero in my life." I smiled, resting my forehead on his shoulder. He continued to run his hand through my hair, until I dozed off.
