Martel's POV
We arrived in front of a base much bigger than the other ones we had managed to destroy. This was definitely one of M.A.D's main bases which meant we needed to destroy it as soon as we were able to capture him and find the kids. The gate that separated us from the inside of the base was guarded by several mercenaries and robot ninja that surprisingly outnumbered us. If we started fighting there'd be a commotion and we'd probably alert M.A.D to us so we decided to sneak in instead. We snuck around the back and Cole formed a tunnel for us to go through. I lead the way with my violent state and soon we were inside of the base.

"Aaralyn is this way," Zina stated and was about to lead the others before I stopped her.

"Wait, I think she's by herself, I can't see the other kids' souls," I informed her and pointed in a separate direction. "The others are that way. Zina, you and Shira can go get Aaralyn. Caden you rescue the others. Echo and M.A.D are together right now, Riley isn't here, and the archer from before is guarding someone I've never seen before."

"Then we can take on M.A.D," Kai suggested. "Tai and Shade can save whoever the archer is guarding. When everyone is done we need to meet back outside of the base after we're done. If any of us fail don't stay to help us. Regroup back at the apartment and we'll plan again."

Once we confirmed that I lead my group toward where M.A.D was while the other three groups went about their missions. On the way towards M.A.D where were stopped by a mercenary with a scar on his face. He snapped his fingers and robot ninja materialized in front of us. I made my bo come to my hand and launched myself at one of the robots. I pierced the middle of its head with my staff and tore it from its neck. Tentacles made of water flew past me as Nya attacked the robots. The tentacles stabbed through several of the robots and targeted the mercenary. He was able to dodge them and started to run off as the ninja took care of the rest of the robots. I solidified the shadows around me and used them to make chains. After tossing the chains at the mercenary I trapped him and pulled him back to us.

"I think he'll be useful," I grinned. "Rose can you use your powers to take control of him?"

"Of course love," Rose responded and fired a ball of dark energy at him. Once the darkness started to swirl around his body she nodded at me to let him go.

The chains disappeared and we continued on our way to M.A.D and Echo. As we approached the room where they were, more ninja robots and mercenaries started to show up but none of them saw us. Marquel opened up a portal and before his hands began to spark with yellow energy. He made a tugging motion and the guards were thrown into the portal right before it closed. Once they were out of the way, Rose used our captive to open the doors and walked him inside to distract M.A.D. I turned into a shadow and snuck inside with Dusty who had turned into sand to slowly enter the room. Inside M.A.D was trying to get the mercenary to leave while Echo was looking glassy-eyed. I was able to get a closer look at him to see that his eyes were red and he appeared to be under mid control. The others managed to sneak in while M.A.D was distracted and once the mercenary finally left, Kyle signaled for us to attack. Dusty caught M.A.D in the neck with his blade as I unleashed a strike to the back of his head. While he was disoriented, Cole ran up and punched him into a wall. Echo roared and went to attack me only to be stopped by Kyle who had appeared to the side of me. He used his sword to block Echo's attack and vanished again, blind siding him with a kick to the side. The kick was strong enough to make him crash into a wall and he fell in a heap on the floor. Marquel used his powers to send him through a portal and we all turned back to where M.A.D had been thrown through a wall.

A yell rang out and I turned in time to dodge Kai's body as he was thrown into the throne that sat in the middle of the room. M.A.D didn't appear to have taken any damage from the three attacks he had received and only appeared to be pissed. Cole tried swinging his scythe at him while at the same time Jay charged up a lightning attack. M.A.D used his arm to defend against the edge of the scythe and went to counter attack before he stumbled from Jay's lightning strike. Kyle jumped at M.A.D, faded away as the man took a punch at him, and delivered a powerful strike to his back. We all gasped as the sound of metal cracking filled the air and Kyle's sword shattered. Kyle fell from the force while the dragon ninja and I each entered our dragon stages. We all gathered heat in our hands and flames sputtered into existence before each of us held a different colored fire ball.

"Synchronized dragon shot!" we shouted at once and blasted the fire balls at him. They all met each other and combined before a multicolored dragon appeared to fire its own fire balls at M.A.D.

The room started to shake as the shots exploded on contact with M.A.D, parts of the ceiling starting to crumble away from the shock. As a large chunk of the ceiling was about to fall on top of Nya and I quickly protected her with a shadow shield. Sand slowly filled the room as Dusty lifted his hands to the ceiling. The sand came together and formed a shield made of sand which protected us while the dragon continued to unleash a barrage of explosive attacks at M.A.D. The room finally gave way from all the shockwaves and the ceiling caved in on top of us as dust filled the air. When the dust finally cleared it revealed that the entire room had been destroyed and we were now standing outside in the rubble. Alarms blared throughout the rest of M.A.D's base to report on the damage, but we ignored that and focused on what was more important. Pain erupted in the back of my head and I was thrown across the ground, skidding to a stop as I crashed through several buildings that had been miles away from the base. I recovered quickly thanks to my violent powers and made Raven appear before me.

Rescue anyone who might be in danger right now, I communicated telepathically with my bird. While he flew away to do as I commanded I flapped my flaming wings and took to the skies. I started to levitate in the air while I surveyed the path which I had been thrown from. The ground where I had skidded left a trail of destruction, several buildings having caught on fire from my wings or just were starting to fall down from me flying through them.

I summoned about fifty shadow ninja which all manifested in a bubble of blackness, ordering the dark minions to help Raven while I shot off back to the battlefield. When I returned I landed beside a helicopter and peeked out from the side of it to see Cole on the ground while Kai was still unconscious. Zane had been pinned to a wall by a giant claw while Jay had been trapped in a black, goo-like material. Kyle was currently fighting without a weapon and was still able to hold his own as long as he avoided attacks. I used my powers to teleport to Rose's shadow as she spun her chain scythe to the side of her. The scythe created sparks whenever it connected with the ground and she finally tried to attack M.A.D with it after he had batted Kyle away. Her chain scythe wrapped around M.A.D's body and trapped him as darkness started to envelop the chain. Marquel summoned the power absorbing rope through a portal as M.A.D started to break free of the chains. Dusty, Violet, and I combined our powers to help hold down the mad man while Marquel tied the rope around him. Once he was secured the four of us returned to our normal states and took a moment to catch our breath.

"That takes care of that, now we just have to wait until Shira and the others get here," I said while going to help the other ninja up. As I went to help Jay I noticed that the goo around him hadn't disappeared. "...Wait a minute..."

An explosion went off in the center of the battlefield, blowing all of us back. I used my bo staff to halt my slide while Marquel stopped himself with his gravity powers. Where M.A.D had been trapped now laid a couple of burning rope and a crater. I looked around and caught him about to throw a fist at me. I was able to block in time with a shadow shield and went to trip him only for him to disappear. Dusty crashed into me and we both tumbled into another part of M.A.D's base. The two of us were quickly surrounded by several mercenaries and robots but we ignored them and went to head back to M.A.D. I helped Dusty up and we quickly flew out of the base and back to where M.A.D was fighting the others. Lloyd used his powers to manifest a dragon with crackled with green energy. The beast unleashed a mighty roar as it started to breathe glowing, green fire at him. While he was preoccupied I started to help Jay out of the goo. I used violent energy to create claws and started to cut away at the goo. Once I freed Jay he surrounded his body with lightning and teleported in front of M.A.D. He struck him in the face with his nunchucks and followed with a spinning kick to his side. The attacks annoyed M.A.D and he was about to attack Jay until Kyle grabbed him from behind. Nya jumped in and unleashed a powerful blast of water at both of them, though the attack only hit M.A.D as Kyle had used his powers to get away. Jay threw a ball of electricity at the water and managed to light M.A.D up. As he got to his knees Rose fired off a volley of dark energy attacks at him. I helped by continuously firing off purple fire balls. A shield made of red energy protected M.A.D from the onslaught of attacks and he got to his feet. As his face grew angrier, his eyes started to glow with a red light. Fire began blazing around him and I figured we had finally made him use much more of his power.

Tai's POV
"I don't think we have much time left," I informed Shade while we tied up the red eyed archer. "The alarms have finally gone off but no one else seems to be around so I assume we're alone in here."

Shade took the archer's hand and pressed it against a fingerprint scanner, causing the cell that the held the person to open. When it opened we came face to face with a young girl who appeared to be a clone of Riley, well aside from her hair color which was black and not blond. The girl looked up and crawled away from us, backing up into a wall. "W-Who are you?"

"Please don't be alarmed young one," I replied with a kind smile. "We're here to rescue you."

I offered my hand to her and she hesitated before accepting it. Her hand felt much skinnier than it was supposed to be and I instantly knew that she was not being nourished as she should be. After helping the girl out of the cell she spotted the archer and drew away from me. "S-She isn't dead is she?"

Shade shook his head. "No, we do our best not to kill anyone. Come with us and we can take you back to your parents."

"...I wouldn't worry too much about that," she muttered. "I'm an orphan."

Before we could say anything else we were met by Shira and Zina who had successfully freed Aaralyn. The six of us hurried to exit the base and thankfully were greeted by Caden and Echo's team. Now that we were together again we just had to find the others who were most likely still battling with M.A.D.

Martel's POV
M.A.D now had horns sprouting from his head while a burning pitchfork was in his hand. His eyes were blazing with fire and his skin had taken on a black color. We all stared in shock as he started to leave the ground and floated in the air. "You've all ruined everything," he spoke in a booming voice. "I have to get back on schedule, so for now I leave you all with a parting gift."

After saying that he threw his pitchfork and it struck through the ground. Instantly the ground began to shake and orange light appeared through cracks in the earth. M.A.D's form reverted to normal and he disappeared in a flash of red light. As a column of fire broke free from the ground in front of me I backed away from the flames. Marquel created a portal and helped everyone inside before closing it, leaving me, Jay, Rose, and himself behind to help the others get away. M.A.D's base shook as we headed back through the various holes in the walls. With my violent abilities we were able to find the others and soon Marquel opened a portal for them to go through.

"The archer girl and the rest of the mercenaries won't be able to make it in time," I said while conjuring up several shadow ninja. "You and Rose get away from here. I'll make sure everyone gets out in time."

"Don't die," Marquel said and smiled as he jumped into a portal.

Rose kissed me on the cheek and disappeared in a cloud of darkness. Once they were gone I went to help anyone I could while my shadow ninja scattered around and grabbed everyone in sight. I managed to help six mercenaries in total while my shadow ninja helped the other one hundred or so that were inside. Any of the mercenaries outside had already escaped, but there were still a few more trapped inside of the building, and I wouldn't be able to help them all in time. My energy was nearly drained already, this being clear as some of the shadow ninja disappeared. Static filled my ears as Jay appeared beside, lightning flying from his body. He was panting and looked about as drained as I was. "We can't save them all."

"Yeah I figured that out already," I replied and pushed him as a slab of the building almost fell on top of him. Fire started to erupt around us and I pressed my hand to the floor. A flickering shadow shield spawned around us but I knew it wouldn't be enough to protect us. "Jay help me."

He nodded and took my hand, adding his lightning to my shield. The shield became a glow of purple energy and blue lightning and soon the room around us crumbled. As explosions went off all around us, the shield started to flicker and once it dissipated everything went black.

No one's POV
The sky around M.A.D's destroyed base was now filled with dragons as Caleb's entire team rode in to survey the destruction. They landed in the rumble and the earth students started to move things away. They uncovered the bodies of several dead mercenaries and found both Jay and Martel, unconscious but still alive.

"We haven't heard a word from the ninja in two months," Caleb said while his students helped the fallen ninja to their dojo. "We need to contact them and the twins of glass. It looks like they failed here seeing as no one else but these two are here."

"Well since they're after M.A.D again I wonder if that means Shira is back," Zygon replied with a grin. "Also we should probably get out of here soon, sounds like the police are coming."

Caleb nodded before ordering everyone to leave for now.
