chapter 7
"What the heck? Let me go!" Is what I attempted to say, but with the hand on my mouth, it sounded like "whmlhckltmrrrpph!"
"Shh, calm down Lia, it's just me," I immediately recognized the voice.
Removing myself from his hold, I turned around and glared at the guy from earlier.
"What the hell dude, why did you do that?" I said while rubbing my mouth.
I mean he was hot and all, but who knows how many germs he had on those hands.
"Sorry about that, but I needed to talk to you," He said, not looking quite sorry might I add.
"You said you were staying with your aunt, what's her name?"
Wow straight to the point. "What's it to you?" I replied looking at him skeptically.
If Mina wasn't comfortable with me talking to him then neither was I.
"Look," he said sighing out.
"I know that Mina doesn't want you near me, but I just want to know who you are staying with. Then you can continue with your business, okay, nothing much to it," he said.
I thought about it for a second. I mean, even if he did find out, there was nothing he could do to me. He didn't look like the type of guy. Even though I was particularly wary of people, I couldn't help but see any damage.
"I'm staying with June Coleman. She's my aunt,"
I looked at him to see his reaction but I was met with a blank face. Just great, Another face in this town I couldn't read.
"And now if you'll excuse me, I'll be on my way," I said as I walked out of the closet.
I made it back to the makeup aisle as I continued my search for a mirror but I was surprised when I saw none.
'What the hell? how can you have a makeup aisle with no mirrors,' I mumbled to myself as I continued down the aisle.
I guess it also helped that there was practically no makeup.
The only things on the shelves were lip gloss, face masks, and creams.
There weren't any compact powders, mascara or hand mirrors. There wasn't even a mirror for you to test the products out!
I seriously regret leaving my mirror in my mum's car.
Grabbing a few face creams, I made my way back to the counter to pay for the stuff and to ask about their lack of inventory.
As I was walking back, I realized I never got his name. What even shocked me more was that I never asked about his motive. I suddenly stopped.
I told him where I was staying. I wasn't that careless, so I wondered what came over me. Thinking about it, I couldn't even properly remember what he looked like.
So strange...
I continued my walk back to the register as I paid for my things. The mirror completely slipped my mind.
I walked back to the house when a feeling of dread settled over me. I tried to shake off the feeling, but it just kept on coming back.
Something wasn't right.
I hated feeling like that because I was usually right.
As I arrived at the door I put my hand up to knock, when it suddenly opened.
Mina was standing there looking breathless. When her eyes found mine, I saw they were filled with tears.
"I am so sorry Lia," She said sobbing.
"What happened Mina?" I asked dropping the bag as I went to hold her.
"Your Mum Lia," she said looking into my eyes.
"What happened to my mum Mina? Tell me!" I demanded. At this point, I started crying too.
"She had an accident,"
