3rd Person POV:
It was another day for Tori, Matilda, Ell, and Tamara. Tori was currently hiding in her room with her best friend, Matilda. They both didn't know how it happened, but they started getting closer to each other than the other girls in the house. Tori was reading a comic book, Matilda looking over the shorter female's shoulder to read it as well.
"Haha, that dude's an idiot." Matilda said during a certain scene, pointing at the panel that she was talking about. Tori looked at the panel and giggled quietly before nodding. "Yeah, I-I guess that's true. You're pretty funny." Tori replied. Matilda blushed a bit from the compliment. "Thanks, or whatever."
The two went silent again, continuing to read. Tori leaned back onto Matilda, a red hue coming to her face after she'd done it. She was about to move, but Matilda rested her head on Tori's. Tori's breathing quickened, but she tried to stay focused on the comic book. Matilda's cheeks reddened a small bit, but she was somehow able to continue reading the comic book.
The two felt awkward, yet comfortable.
After a long silence, Tori looked up at Matilda. Matilda looked down at her, a small smirk on her face. "Wh-what?" Tori said quietly, seeming confused. "What?" Matilda responded. "Why do you make me feel th-this way...?" Tori inquired. "Uhm-" "Matilda... wh-why do you tease me like this?" "I-I- didn't-"
The two girls were both blushing and stuttering, frantically trying to explain why and how they'd gotten into this situation. In the end, they both gave up on trying to explain it, and instead just accepted it. "Best friends do this, right?" Tori asked. "U-uh- yeah, of course they do." Matilda assured. "Wait... we're best friends?" Matilda added, cocking a brow. Tori shrugged her shoulders, hiding the lower part of her face in the collar of her sweater.
"I-if you wanna be..." She stammered as a reply. Matilda stayed quiet for a moment, considering it. Tori sweat-dropped, hoping that she didn't say something wrong. "...Yeah, I wanna be your best friend. I mean, we hang out together everyday anyway so..." Matilda answered, averting her gaze to a window in Tori's room. Tori smiled and laughed quietly.
"What's so funny?" "...Y-you." "Oh..." After a bit, Matilda changed the subject. "S-so... uhm... it's getting late..." "It is? I thought that it was 5 p.m." "Well, we've been reading for a few hours now." Tori looked up from the comic book, her gaze falling on her window. Indeed, it seemed like it was night-time already.
"D-do you... maybe... wanna sit on the roof with me?" Matilda suggested. Tori put a bookmark in the comic book and set it aside. "S-sure..." She stuttered out, standing up from the bed. Matilda did the same, missing Tori's warmth. "Want me to bring a blanket or something?" Matilda asked. "Yeah, it's probably cold out there." Tori replied.
Matilda grabbed the blanket from Tori's bed, then the two went to the stairs that led to the rooftop. Matilda wondered when they'd both actually have a full-on conversation instead of the small-talk that they'd been having. What she didn't know was that Tori was thinking of the exact same thing, but too shy to bring it up. They soon got to the rooftop, and Matilda sat down on a comfortable spot.
Tori sat down next to Matilda, shivering a small bit from how chilly it was. Matilda noticed, then wrapped the blanket around Tori and herself. The two had to sit a bit closer for the blanket to reach the both of them. They looked up at the sky, watching as the stars started to become visible. They dotted the night sky, a crescent moon rising nearby. It was stunning, to say the least.
"Woah..." Tori whispered softly. "It's pretty, right?" Matilda replied, looking over at Tori. "Yeah... do you do this often?" Tori muttered, glancing at Matilda. Matilda hummed, thinking about it. "No, not really. I just look out of the window in my room sometimes, but I hardly go up here." Matilda answered. Tori nodded.
"If I'd known about this spot sooner, I would've gone up here more... b-but, I didn't know..." "How didn't you know?" Tori shrugged her shoulders.
"I'm not really around you guys, so I didn't know that you guys come up here. Now that I'm c-closer to you, you showed me. That's all that really matters to me..." Tori blushed, then started fiddling with her fingers. Matilda's face reddened, and she looked away to hide it. "Th-thanks, I guess." Matilda replied.
