Starwatcher gazed at her egg, glowing silver in the moonlight. Its hatching tonight she thought. Beside her, Scorpion glanced at their egg, worry glistening in his eyes. The egg did not look normal like a normal SandWing or NightWing egg. It was silver, but had golden and white specks all over. Oh what have I done? The NightWing thought in distress, because of me, this dragonet will be a hybrid, different from all dragons.
All of a sudden, a large crack split through the egg and a little dragonet popped out, looking around in confusion. She's beautiful Starwatcher thought, I was wrong to think that there would be something wrong with my daughter. Scorpion let out a happy cry and picked up the dragonet. She was the same blackish purple dragonet with silver teardrop scales, but there was something peculiar about her. She had a SandWing-like poisonous barb at the end of her tail and had silver and golden scales on her under wings. Her horns were embroidered in gold, making it look like it was implanted in her tiny horns.
"What should her name be?" Starwatcher asked although she already had the perfect name in her mind.
Scorpion stared at her, is eyes brimming with love, "you choose." he replied.
"How about Eclipse?" she asked, "I mean, eclipses are rare, unique, and beautiful, and I think that matches our dragonet. Scorpion hugged the baby dragon and handed Eclipse over to Starwatcher. "Yes," he murmured, "her name will be Eclipse."
