"Thank God you're alive, where are you?" I asked.

"Lyn, listen to me quickly. I don't have time." Said Violet in a rush.

"I'm listening."

"I need your help, come to..." her voice just vanished as she was about to tell me where she was.

"Violet?" I screamed. "Violet? Can you hear me?" I shouted, but there was no response. After a minute or so on the phone, she hung up on me. I was so disappointed. I wanted to help her if I just didn't talk and just listened then I would've known where she was.

"Lyn, why are you shouting? Who was on the phone?" Asked April.

"An old friend," I replied.

"Why were you shouting?"

"She's dead."

"Oh, I'm so sorry."

"I'll just go have a nap before going back to work."

"Yeah, you better catch some sleep."

"You should sleep too."

"I'll sleep soon."

"Come with me, we both need some rest." I grabbed her hand and guided her to my room. Love was hugging the room as we both slept on the same bed. She ripped my shirt off and invaded my skin. She was starving. Our lips hugged, our bodies collided to the harmony of love. Like magnets, we went back and forth. Some love was created as we were in bed, but without feeling ourselves we both fell into the arms of sleep. I woke up to her head on my chest, I was guessing that she might still be asleep. I moved slowly so that she doesn't wake up, but the mission failed. As I moved, her eyes opened.

"Good morning sunshine," I said with a smile.

"Good morning handsome." She replied with a sweet smile.

"I'll go to work, see you when I come back."

"Yeah, I'll be waiting for you."

"I better make my way to the dressing room, or I'll get fired."

"Oh please, you won't get fired."

"I will if I don't make it to that dressing room."

"Alright, go."

"See you."

"See you."

We exchanged another magical kiss, and I left. I made my way to the dressing room, got dressed, and left. I looked at the digital clock in the car and it was five o'clock. I guess it's not a morning after all. I think today is going to be just like yesterday since I'll start working at five. I'll probably leave in the morning. The best thing about this contract and this job are that they didn't mention the working hours. I can just work whenever I want.

Weeks passed, I was still sketching different designs and throwing them away. I was thinking of many different ideas, then while building them, they fail. I was disappointed, and frustrated. I just felt like a failure. Maybe I'm not good enough for this job. What if I wasn't able to create this device? Will they throw me out? I need to stop thinking negatively. I should get to the lab and start to work instead of thinking about how I'll fail. Maybe I should start thinking of something unusual, and a bit out of the box.

That day, I decided to go to the lab and lock myself in there. I decided to not get out of that lab without a design and an idea in mind. I've been working in the electrical field for a while, maybe I can use my experience there in building this device. It doesn't have to be about Bioengineering, I can use my electrical engineering skills too. I'm also good at coding, so maybe I can involve a bit of that too.

I got to the lab where the magic is supposed to happen. I was pumped to start working, I just had this positive energy and feeling that is surrounding me ever since April and I became a thing. With her by my side, I just feel like I can do anything. I sat on the chair, sketching different designs for the device. I started by drawing a 3D rectangle, I then started twisting the corners. I was going for something basic and unique.

I got a design right in front of me, but it was empty. I need to think about what it'll include. I need to use transistors and different circuits to send different rays to the brain. With the help of the LED lights, I can make a screen that can actually light up, then display different images or videos on the screen that will make people think a certain way. I think that will definitely open the doors of the future to me. If this actually worked, I can create a new smart device that no one would see coming. With the help of Dyrlisia, we can make this device famous, and from there I'll expand into something bigger.

I did it. I got the idea, that would involve all the skills that I'm good at. I can make this work. Although it's been weeks since I've been experimenting and failing, this might be the breakthrough of my career. I have a pretty good feeling about this. I need to have a meeting with Elvira tomorrow to talk about the materials, and the device itself. I think she'll be mind blown when I tell her about my idea. No one would ever expect this.

For now, I need to start completing the design. I have a rectangle with twisted corners, where should I locate the screen? I kept on staring at the paper it's like it'll talk to me or something. After a while, I got it. I'll place the screen in the middle. So that it could be one big screen in the middle, the screen could also cover all the transistors and the circuits that live underneath. That's a smart idea. I can make this screen out of glass too, which will make it more luxurious for the citizens of Trinel. And for the citizens of Branklin, I can make the screen out of plastic. Wow, I didn't expect to get this far into the project.

To add a bit of luxury to the design, I can make it colorful. I started researching different appealing designs that could possibly inspire me. After hours of research, I realized that usually, the designs for electronics don't include lights, so I wanted to be the first to do that. I just need to know what I'll make it out of. I delayed the continuation of the designing process till tomorrow and started thinking about the electrical stuff that I'll include in the device. So, I need transistors and different circuits to build the device. That's the beginning. Then, I can add the LED lights for the screen and other stuff that will help it work quicker. I drew different lines inside the screen to help me imagine where each circuit and transistor will be located. Maybe I could add sensors too, that will make the device smarter.

It was late at night, and I didn't want to do the same thing that I did in the past few weeks, which is; sleep in the lab. So, I decided to free myself and go home and rest. I can sleep now since I've been productive, and I can resume the work tomorrow. I just need to talk to the receptionist about my meeting with Elvira tomorrow. I left the lab and headed to the reception area, where the normal people wait. I was lucky enough to catch the receptionist before her shift ends.

"Excuse me," I called.

"Yes, how can I help you?" Replied the receptionist.

"I need to book an appointment with Elvira."

"Sir, Ms Elvira is a busy woman with a busy schedule, you'll probably have to wait for next week."

"What? Next week?"

"Yeah, maybe then we can book you an appointment."

"This is urgent, tell her it's about the devices."

"Sir, Ms Elvira is a busy woman, she can't cancel her appointments."

"I'm not telling you to cancel her appointments, I just need to meet her, even if it's just for 5 minutes."

"I'm afraid that's not possible sir, I'm sorry."

"I can meet her in between appointments, just for 5 minutes."

"Her schedule is fully booked sir, I hope you understand."

"I understand, but it's urgent."

"If you want you can leave a note for her, and I'll give it to her tomorrow."

"Can you call her for me?"

"Sir, it's late. She's probably sleeping."

"I'm telling you it's urgent. So, if I can't see her tomorrow, then at least let me talk to her now."

"We are not allowed to call her at this time."

"Just give me her number."

"I can't do that either sir."

"I work here, I'm not a fan nor am I a homeless person from the streets. Here, see, this is my Dislin." I said as I showed her my dislin.

"I know that," she replied.

"Just call her for me please, it's an urgent work situation."

"A...alright."

She picked up the phone and called her, then handed over the phone to me. The phone was ringing in my ear as my heartbeat increased.

"Hello?" she answered saying.

"Hey, it's Lyn Preston," I replied saying.

"Oh, hey Lyn."

"Hey, I was talking to the receptionist about meeting you tomorrow, and she isn't allowing me to meet you tomorrow."

"What's up? Why do you want to meet me?"

"It's about the devices."

"Oh, alright. Hand the phone over to her."

"Okay." I said as I gave the receptionist the phone."

"Hello Ms Elvira, sorry to bother you at this time." Said the receptionist. A long pause was there as she listened to what Elvira had to say. "Okay, okay. I'll see," she added. She hung up, and clicked the different buttons on her computer. Her eyes went side to side as she saw the schedule.

"So, you can meet her at 9 am if that suits you."

"Yeah, that's perfect."

"Alright, thank you Mr Lyn."

"Wait, how did you know my name?"

"You're famous in town Mr Lyn, everyone knows that you're working on something that will blow all our minds away."

"Oh wow, thank you. I didn't know that."

"Wow, really?"

"Yeah."

"Well, now you know."

"What's your name?"

"Sara."

"Oh, nice to meet you, Sara."

"Nice to meet you too."

"Anyways, I have to go home now, I guess I'll catch you later."

"Sure."

"Have a good night."

"You too."

I got back home after a productive day. I was proud of myself. I looked for April in the rooms of the mansion, but she wasn't there.

"Elis," I called.

"Yes, Mr Lyn." She replied as she came running.

"Where is April?"

"She...she..."

"She, what?"

"Look, I don't want you to be upset. Alright?"

"Elis, where is April?"

"She left."
