Hello whoever is reading this!

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. This story started out as a thing I was writing for fun outside of school (circa December 2016). Then, I got an assignment in English to write a short story (circa December 2017), so I decided to pick this up again since I had no other ideas. At the same time, there was a short story contest through a local Fine Arts Association going on that my English teacher strongly encouraged us to enter. So I did.

I ended up becoming one out 45 finalists out of almost 700 entries. Then, they chose to recognize 22 of these finalists with awards. I earned an Honorable Mention award for this story (although my English teacher told me she had thought I could win first overall haha). 

I honestly did not think that anything would come out of me entering this contest, so I am very happy to have come out with an Honorable Mention. 

Some people I'd like to thank since that's what authors do at the end of their books and I wanted to do it too:

First, my friend, Ricky (you know who you are) for helping me make this story have an actual plot. And for always being my number one supporter, friend, and wifey. Wifeys forever <3

Next, The Leomi Eislyn Pack - a more recent group of friends I've made, but it feels like we've known each other for years. Thank you for being so supportive in all of my endeavors and encouraging me to go for it instead of doubting myself. (Also, thank you momma Sammi for keeping me on track haha.) 

Last, but not least, Kay: you inspire me so much with your writing. Obviously, this story and your writing are vastly different, but I hope to be half as good as you one day. Keep writing and striving for bigger things because I know you can do it.
