Chapter 7

I hated fighting with her.

I stood next to Jessica watching as pack members filed into the auditorim. Since we were meeting another pack it was exprected of us to rent out a bigger space to fit everyone. I kept a straight face, my training installed into me to make sure I looked strong for my pack mates.

"Do you think you'll find your mate here?" I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at Shane's words. I didn't have time to entertain his shananigans. "We have more important things happening Shane, why are they coming anyway?" He shrugged his shoulders, "I heard that we're starting an alliance with the new Alpha. You know how new Alphas has to create their own alliance through the blood bond."

"Okay guys I need you to be on your best behavior tonight, the pack should be here in a few minutes." Alpha Andrew smiled at the three of us, he was a kind Alpha. He had fair skin and short brown hair that was greying at the roots. His smile was able to lift any pack member up and motivate them to keep going, I was proud to call him my Alpha.

I watched as he walked away, his broad shoulders held back as he kept his head up confidently. He rubbed the heads of the passing pack mates, making sure to acknowledge them in some form of way. He never failed to make sure everyone felt right at home when it came to these sort of meetings. I could see that everyone's feral was calm, mines replicating the same emotions as she sat in the back of my bones and mind.

"Ok guys, everyone take your seats." Alpha Andrew finished talking to each pack member as he made his way to the stage alongside us once again. Luna Emory's voice was calming as it slid across the pack who quickly followed her command. "Today we will be meeting with the Winter Solace pack, I expect everyone knows what we expect of you."

There was a chorus of responses to her statement. I didn't doubt them seeing as we didn't have any problem with following orders from the leaders of this pack. This was a fairness with the leaders which made it easier for our ferals to submit to them. I watched as the pack members stared intently at their superiors of the pack.

"They're here."

Not long after Luna Emory words the door opened up on the side of us. I kept my eyes forward as I watched the unfamiliar wolves fill into the rooms. My pack mates kept their composure as we followed the orders of our leaders. I felt Jessica poking into my brain and I let her in for a second.

"Couldn't help yourself I see?"

"Look Zoy, I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, you're just the only one I trust fully to creep into your mind without being scared."

I had to keep myself from cracking a laugh as I thought back to the time she creeped into her mother's mind and saw her parents having sex. Best moment of my life when she came crying to me begging me to erase the image in her mind.

"I forgive you Jes, you know I can't stay mad at you forever." I looked out the corner of my eyes and saw her trying to keep her composure from giggling.

"Girls!" My head snapped up at Alpha Andrew words seeing as he was staring directly at us. "I need you to show Alpha Crestfield and Beta BlackWood they're room." I nodded my head as my eyes turned to the wolf standing next to him. Was this the Alpha? "If you would follow me?" Jessica took the lead as she began walking towards the guest rooms.

I followed behind her as my feral rustled beneath my bones. She was on edge and I wondered why seeing as she's normally calm when we deal with Alphas and Betas. I didn't listen to Jes speaking seeing as she was just rambling and the leaders of Winter Solace were just nodding their heads.

"Well here is your room Beta BlackWood." Jessica said as she turned towards the shorter wolf. Though I was surprised when the male took a step forward giving a slight nod to Jessica before entering the room. A small smirk could be seen on his lips as he took a last glance at the shorter female. I turned towards Jessica who held the same look as me.

"Excuse me for my disrespect Alpha," We both bowed our heads to her and the next thing I heard was the most angelic voice I've ever heard in my entire life. My feral once more moved beneath my skin as though she was trying to break free and I knew exactly why.

"Oh ladies how could you have known, though please show me to my room now." My feral began going berserk shouting a language only understood by the primal sides of us. I raised my heads and my eyes snapped to the beautiful dark brown eyes that resembled the soil that laid in the ground of the earth.

My breath caught in my throat as I watched her move at a remarkable speed pulling me into her arms. Everything seemed to move in slow motions as her skin made contact with mines and fireworks set off in the back of my head. Her lips moved to form the one word that would changed my life from this moment on.

"Mate."

I felt tears spill from my eyes involuntary as I looked at the breathtaking female in front of me. Her dark skin was covered by the abundance of curls that framed her face. She pulled me in with her unbelievable soft touch, her fingers traveling to my skin as she ran her fingers across my cheek.

"You're so beautiful." I thanked my dark skin as I could feel my face warm up. I couldn't think of anything to say as I stared into her eyes. They pulled me in and left me speechless. My mind couldn't comprehend the tingles that were coursing through my body.

"Hello," Jessica's voice broke through our bubble as reality came crashing down on me. I pulled away from my mate as though she was hot lava. She gave me a questioning look but I ignored her turning my gaze to Jes. "Sorry for interrupting this adorable moment but Alpha Andrew needs us." I thanked the moon goddess for a way out of this situation before things could escalate.

"Well I'll go and you continue to show Alpha Crestfield her room." I hurried to get away and my feral rattled in my bones at my actions showing her displeasure for leaving mate. I tried to convince her that it was for the best but she refused to solidify back into my bones. I felt off balance as I followed the scent of my Alpha.

Once close to the door that held the scent of my Alpha, I gave it a solid knock. I waited a couple seconds before hearing the next couple of words allowing my entrance.

"Come in," I turned the knob before entering the room. I came into sight of my Alpha and my father. I kept a straight face as I watched the two, what did they have cooking up under their sleeves?

"Zoyanna, we need to talk to you about your mate." I nearly fell over at his words. "Excuse my tone but who the heck told you guys?" I said loudly and the two looked at each other before turning to me.

"Zoyanna have you forgotten your training on your feral? Your wolf announced it to our wolves right after you met them." I wanted to smack myself at my stupidity. How could I forget my traitorous wolf had that option after meeting our mate and to think she refused to regain balance between us.

"Don't be mad Zoy," My father voice entered the conversation. "It's instinct for her, she had no control over her actions. It was bound to happen especially since she is of leadership." I nodded my head at his words. I guess I couldn't be as angry but I sure as hell was still mad just a tad bit less.

"Well since it's been revealed by your wolf that you have found your mate will you reveal who your mate is?"

"No."
