(heh. 169 reads- thanks guys ;))

anywayyyyyyy
drawing dragon full bodies can be annoying, but something to keep in mind while doing them is anatomy.
since dragons are fictional creatures, you can use any anatomy, but i personally use a mix of cat, dinosaur, and horse. it really depends on the dragon.
you can look these things up on Pinterest, and you might see something like this come up:

all of these (and images like them) are things i reference regularly! of course, wings of fire dragons have a slightly different build than the one above, but it's still extremely useful.

now on the actual dragon-drawing steps- i'll be doing Whiteout, because i actually haven't drawn her yet!
each tribe has their characteristics, but really have mostly the same build. here's a few differences though:
mudwings- more barrel-chested, will be much stockier than any other tribe.
sandwings- longer tails for scorpion-stinger-thingies.
skywings- skinny, but strong. not very graceful though.
seawings- round features, fish-like
rainwings- these are basically graceful long beans
icewings- angular features
nightwings- stocky, shorter legs
leafwings- long beans
silkwings- graceful, but with slightly smaller heads and thicker necks. they're pretty wierd.
hivewing- tall and skinny, with angular features.

first start with a sketch. i'll be doing a simple profile view.
my sketchbook is a 11x14 inch, because i hate drawing small.
for sketches, i recommend larger papers, but printer paper is fine.
always start with the backbone and rib cage. from there, i usually do the head or legs next.

oof. they're dark-

that wing's a little messy- srry

^ after finishing your basic body outline, clean up your lines.
then add your scales, and spines:

(so sorry it's dark)
after finishing your sketch, line it with a pen! personally i use a black .005 micron pen. you can get them on amazon easily, but most pens work fine. :)

after lining it, you can erase the sketch:

aaaaaand there ya go!
now you can color your dragon- i'll be using my new Ohuhu markers that i've never used before- but any colors are fine!

there isn't much left for me to say- just color. this is the best part, so have fun!

(dark again- srry)
ok so i had no idea they bled so much, so i'll be using my white gel pan to try and fix it at the end, but until then....

*dies inside*

welllllll i've now finished her, and you can see the gel pen if you look closely, but i think it turned out ok for my first marker dragon! :)

hope this helps!
