Chapter 27 : Infinity

As Korn and Gun advanced, their steps heavy and full of malice, Rain raised his arms high. The storm outside darkened, an ominous sign of the power he was calling forth. With a single motion, he unleashed a bolt of lightning that cracked the sky, sending a searing surge of energy directly at Korn. He roared, his body crackling as the lightning surged through him. His eyes flickered with rage, but the bolt had barely weakened him. His skin sizzled, but he was an ancient being, born of darkness itself. "You think your little tricks can stop me?" he snarled at those standing in front of him, not knowing the attack was coming from somewhere else totally, shaking off the surge of energy like a mere nuisance. But Rain was already summoning more energy, his focus unshaken. He called upon the fury of the heavens, and the clouds above him roared to life. More lightning strikes followed in rapid succession, each one tearing into Korn's body, illuminating his figure with blinding flashes of light.

Beside him, Sky summoned the wind, his hands raised to the sky. The air around him spiralled into a powerful vortex, lifting the earth itself in swirling gusts. With a forceful gesture, he directed the wind towards Gun, slamming into his massive form with the force of a hurricane. The gusts whipped around him, pushing him back several feet, but Gun was a rogue vampire, and his strength was beyond measure. He snarled, baring his fangs, his body writhing with fury as his black goo of blood splashed across the battlefield. "You dare challenge me with your wind?" he spat, his voice dripping with disdain. His claws swiped the air, slashing at the wind like a beast attempting to tear through an invisible wall. The wind responded, however, growing sharper and more violent. Sky increased its speed, turning it into a violent cyclone that whipped around Kan, slicing through his flesh with sharp, icy gusts. With every movement, the goo that covered his body froze and cracked, revealing the ancient vampire underneath. Still, he fought back, throwing himself into the vortex with sheer rage.

But Team and Pharm were not far behind. Team had already moved in to flank his friends. His hands were a blur of motion as he added his energy into the fray, landing a powerful fireball to Gun's side. His attacks were fast and unrelenting, each jab with fire laden weapons landing with such precision that the monster could hardly keep up. The ancient vampire staggered with each strike, his muscles protesting as the magic of Team's attacks chipped away at his corrupted form. Team's attacks were so relentless that they left Gun struggling to catch his breath. But he fought back, his rage filling the air with a palpable sense of dark energy. He swung his own hands wildly, hoping to catch Team off guard, but the fledgeling was not actually there for him to grab, his next strike landing on the rogue vampire's back with a deafening crack.

Meanwhile, Pharm stood in the centre of the room, his hands glowing with powerful magic. His connection to the earth was deep, and as he called upon its power, the ground began to tremble. With a flick of his wrist, massive tendrils of pure light surged from the earth, wrapping around Korn and Gun's legs, binding them in place. "Your reign of darkness ends here," Pharm said, his voice like the calm before a storm. The light from the tendrils flickered, burning away at the black goo that consumed their bodies. The energy was pure, bright, and unwavering — everything that the vampires were not. Korn and Gun howled in rage, but they could not break free. Korn, with his body bound by Pharm's magic, struggled violently, his ancient strength testing the limits of the light. His eyes glowed with fury, and he began to tear at the tendrils, ripping them apart with his bare hands. But the light continued to burn, and the darkness began to recede. Rain stepped forward, his voice strong and commanding as he raised his arms high.

"Enough!" Rain's voice echoed through the storm, reverberating even outside, as peace stole over their allies and lulled Korn and Gun into a sense of false complacency. With that command, Rain summoned every last ounce of his power, the storm above him turning into a violent maelstrom. A massive lightning bolt, the size of a mountain, split the sky and struck Korn directly in the chest. The force of the lightning was overwhelming, and Korn screamed as the power of the heavens coursed through his body, tearing apart the black goo that had once protected him. His form began to burn, blackened by the purity of the magic, and with one final, anguished roar, Korn's body exploded into a shower of ash and blackened goo that disintegrated into the wind.

Gun, witnessing his brother's demise, went berserk. His primal scream tore through the battlefield as he broke free from the remaining magical bonds. His eyes, now full of terror and hatred, fixed on Phayu and Pai. "You won't win!" he howled, his form swelling with dark power as he charged toward them. But before he could take another step, Sky stepped forward, his hands outstretched to the heavens. With a single command, he summoned a storm of pure ice that cascaded down in jagged, sharp shards. They struck the ancient with devastating force, piercing his body and freezing the black goo that once protected him. His body froze in place, the darkness within him resisting, but the pure magic of Sky's ice was unrelenting. The light of the storm penetrated deep into his core, burning away the corruption. "This is the end, Gun," Sky said coldly, his eyes burning with the fierce righteousness of the elements. With one final cry, Gun's body shattered, his form disintegrating into nothing but dust, the last remnants of his evil burned away by the light of their combined magic. As the battlefield fell silent, the air cleared, the storm fading into a peaceful calm. The once menacing presence of Korn and Gun was gone, their darkness vanquished by the pure forces of goodness that stood united.

The moment the two ancients were gone, the shield disappeared and the older vampires and their allies all rushed to where the fledgelings were hidden. As soon as they burst into the room, they saw Rain, Sky, Pharm and Team sitting on the floor, holding on to each other, looking absolutely pale and exhausted. "Little one!" Phayu was the first to move as he ran towards his Draugs, followed by the others. "I am okay Phi Mate..we are okay," he said, curling up in his mate's arms. He could feel his Draugs trembling. He knew it was more fear than adrenaline, but it was probably 50/50 at this point. "I promise you all.. we are okay," he said again, his voice soothing everyone's fears and worries. "Stop it little one! Stop using your powers now good boy! Rest please?" Phayu said, his heart hurting at the thought of how much energy his boy must have spent to get rid of such ancient evil. And on top of that, he was now trying to ensure that no one felt troubled. His boy was the sweetest menace.

"I think we should all rest and recuperate for today. Tomorrow, at dawn, we will all return, but tonight, we will feast. For now, let's freshen up and sleep a bit," Drago said. "And mourn a little. We all, both the Clan and the Pack, lost good men today just because they chose to follow the wrong ones," Kwan said. Everyone nodded at that, their heads slightly bowed at the his words. What he said had been true, and it was really a shame. But needs must, and at that point, it had been just a battle to ensure that all the goodness in their world, and every world around them, remained safe and secure. The four fledgelings were lifted by their mates and taken away, and the others followed suite. All the people present there needed the warmth and affection from their own mates. Those who were not mated, would find solace in friends and family, but for now, it was imperative to just rest.

"Please put us down Phi Mate," Rain said, requesting Phayu, and in a way, the mates of his brothers. "Little one, you are exhausted. Please, just rest," Phayu said, sounding worried. "It will just take us 5 minutes. Please?" Sky said, looking at Pai. The four of them looked at each other and something passed between them. The put down their most precious cargo. Rain, Sky, Pharm and Team immediately raised their hands in the air. Every one watched in wonder as blue fire spread across the battlefield, burning everything that was left, in its wake. The moment the fire died down, a gust of wind blew across, taking away anything and everything that was defiled by the blood of the rogues. Water poured from the heavens, soothing the scorched land, as it soaked in the blessed coolness. When everything was settled, the earth split open, and flowers, hundreds and hundreds of colourful flowers, for however far the eyes could see, spread across the land, almost as it they had always been there, leaving everyone thunderstruck!

Later that night, all the allies settled in together, wanting to decide the fate of the vampire clans as well as the Lycan packs. They were now without leaders and needed to have good people on board, people who would consider the good of every single member, and try to work for the betterment of the two entities. "I think you and Kinn should take over as heads of the Council for us," Drago said. Kinn and Vegas both shook their heads, but before they could speak, Ronan did. "Drago is right. Plus, Thailand has always been our seat of power. Moreover, you have a brilliant team right here," he said. "Also, most of the Clans by now would be aware of the coup d'état that just took place, and you were the forerunners and catalysts of the change," Makoa added. "What will work best in your favour are your sons and their Draugs. The eight of them are powerhouses in their own way, which means you can lead the new Council uncontested," Finn said, raising his glass in a toast.

"I think the fact that you have a Lycan on the team would be great for us as well. I know that sounds terribly selfish, but I am serious. Min can be our go between in any negotiations," Kwan said, earning nods all around. "You all seem to have put in a lot of thought into this," Porche said, looking around at all their allies. "Of course. It's a new dawn for all of us; each and every Clan, Coven and Pack. The terrible nightmares we all went through these past centuries, they may never leave our minds, but at least we have a better direction now. We can put this all past us and start anew, with better bonds and ties," Drago spoke up. "United we stand, divided we fall," Ronan said. "And let me add here. If you do take on the leadership of the Council, you can be rest assured that our Coven will be there to provide any support as well," Khatha added.

"Wow! That's a lot to take in," Vegas said, sounding a bit shocked. "But they are all right Vegas, and we can all help. We all have areas of expertise, and we can support you in every way," Charn spoke up. "P'Kinn, P'Vegas, I think everyone is right. And we can all be your ambassadors in different regions," Kim said. Kinn and Vegas looked at each other, and then at their mates. Porche and Pete nodded. "Okay, we will do it, but only because you all have promised to stay with us and help us out. You are not allowed to back out at any cost," Vegas said, glaring around. Everyone began to laugh. "Well, that is a relief. A big decision has been taken. Now when we leave tomorrow, we will leave with much lighter hearts," Finn said, smiling. "Are you really leaving tomorrow?" Rain's voice came softly as he came down the stairs with his brothers, and all their mates. "Yes Rain, we must leave tomorrow," Amara said, smiling. "But you didn't get to attend our mating ceremony, which is what you came for," Rain said, pouting, making everyone laugh at his cuteness. "We will come back for it Rain, we promise. We must come back once the Council is back to full power. We will then see your ceremony as well," Sloane said. The other agreed wholeheartedly. The four fledgelings had won the eternal respect and gratitude of everyone present there, which is why this was a promise made!

Epilogue, 1 year later

White and pastel shades of flowers were beautifully decorated all around the place, their groupings made to look like natural formations. On either side of a broad red carpet were numerous chairs in white with golden bows tied around them. Fairy lights lit up the whole area and mini lanterns hung on the pathway. Although the binding that they had as Draugs at their first mating was all the ceremony they needed, but somehow, they wanted something more visible, a mark of their love for each other. Which is why Rain, Sky, Team and Pharm had come up with this idea after attending the wedding of a senior, and had taken the permission from the elders, who were only too happy to indulge them.

Everyone present there stood up, smiling and clapping their hands, as the four fledgelings made their way down to their mates. Phayu and Rain wore black, Pai and Sky were in red, Win and Team in white and Dean and Pharm in blue. The four couples stood facing each other, with Khatha presiding over the ceremony. After the vows and the exchange of rings, they made their way back to their parents and the others present there, smiling broadly. "If you smile any bigger, you cheeks will tear lu!" Charn said, as he teased his son. Everybody laughed. "We are happy!" Win said, not caring a bit about the laughter. As night fell deeper, the celebrations grew livelier, with laughter and chatter filling the air. Strings of fairy lights twinkled above, casting a warm glow over the garden, where tables were adorned with delicate flowers and shimmering candles. The couples joined hands as the music began to play, leading everyone to the dance floor.

Dean pulled Pharm close, swaying gently to the rhythm, their gazes locked in a quiet exchange of promises. Team, ever the life of the party, dragged Win into a playful twirl, earning cheers and applause from the crowd. Rain leaned against Phayu's shoulder, their movements synchronized in a serene dance of their own. Meanwhile, Sky burst into laughter as Pai dipped him dramatically, nearly causing both of them to topple over. Khatha, watching from a distance with a fond smile, raised her glass to toast the couples. "To love, friendship, and a lifetime of happiness!" she called out. The others echoed the toast, glasses clinking as the night unfolded with endless joy. As the clock struck midnight, sparklers were lit, illuminating the faces of everyone gathered. The couples shared one last dance under the starry sky, their hearts full of gratitude and love. It was a night they would all remember, a celebration of not just the unions of mates, but also the unbreakable bonds they had built together over the past year. "I love you to infinity Phi Mate," Rain whispered. "I love you just as much my little one!" Phayu said, gently hugging his Draugs closer.
