Chapter Three
EVA TRIPPED over her feet as the young students ran past her, giggling with homemade banners in their hands. "Hey! No running in here! Just because it's a hospital doesn't mean you're not going to get... and they're ten" Eva sighed as the kids were long gone from her sight. She groaned loudly before putting fresh flowers in a vase that sat next to a comatose teenager. "Lucky you. Bet you love sleeping through these rugrats huh? God hates me enough that I have to deal with them" Eva shrugged, fixing the sleeping teens' blonde hair. Sure she still has no idea how she got roped in by Mary Margaret but if it got to help her keep an eye on Henry, who was she to refuse?
"Hey, Henry? I think I found sleeping beauty" Eva called from behind her, laughing at her own joke. When she got no response from her favourite little gremlin she took a proper look at where he had gone. Eva walked past Mary Margaret as she left the room Eva was entering. "Henry? What's got you so blue?" Eva asked him, draping her arm around his shoulder. "I think... I think Mr John Doe is your dad" Henry told her, finally looking up from the coma patient.
<><><>
Eva sat next to Emma, her feet dangling off the edge of Henry's self-proclaimed 'castle'. Henry opened the Storybook on the last intact page of Snow White's story. It was a drawing of a man unconscious with a small cut on his chin. "I found your father – Prince Charming" He informed Emma, showing her the page. "The guy from the hospital? Are you sure he's not the prince from Sleeping Beauty?" Eva questioned, adding nonsense with even more nonsense.
Henry chucked a small pebble at Eva, who for his sake dodged. "He's in the hospital, in a coma. See the scar? He has one, too" Henry pointed at the drawing, hoping to convince the more mature blonde of his findings. "So? Lots of people have scars" Emma added. Eva rolled up her left sleeve to reveal a very long scar from her elbow to just below her wrist. "See, everyone has scars Henry, doubt they're hereditary" She shrugged, not catching Emma's bewildered look that was focused on her scar.
"In the same place? Don't you see what this means?" Henry asked them. Eva only deadpanned while Emma shrugged. "The curse is keeping them apart with the coma. Now they're stuck without each other" Henry told them as if it was more common than a cold. "Oh right, the curse" Eva snickered, nudging Emma in the side. The blonde rolled her eyes hiding a smile from the sarcasm. "Evs, this is serious! We have to tell Miss Blanchard we found her Prince Charming!" Henry exclaimed, frowning at his best friend.
"Okay, kid. Telling someone their soulmate is in a coma is probably not helpful. Not having a happy ending is painful enough, but giving someone unrealistic hope is far worse" Emma warned Henry. "She's not wrong kid, if I told you that I was gonna get you a new video game and didn't. You'd be so upset. We cannot and will never do that to Mary Margaret" Eva added, her love for the woman only persuading her more.
Henry only activated his infamous puppy dog eyes. "But what if I'm right? We know who they are. Now they have to know" He insisted, making Emma and Eva feel for his good intentions. "And how do you intend to make that happen?" Emma asked Henry, waiting to hear his genius plan. "By reminding him. We have to get her to read their story to John Doe. Then, maybe, he'll remember who he is" Henry explained to them. "Shit that's smart, incredibly smart" Eva commented, impressed with him. "What have you done to my Henry?" She questioned him, ruffling his hair.
"Okay" Emma nodded. "Okay?" Both Eva and Henry questioned. One is utter shock and the other is excitement. You can guess which is which yourself. "Yeah, we'll do it. But we'll do it my way. Let me ask her" Emma told them. "This, this may actually be the line between the curse and insanity... I'm in!" Eva agreed, jumping down on the sand. This was gonna be an interesting experiment.
<><><>
Eva smiled as Henry ran into his house before hopping into the front seat of Emma's car. "You think your little side plan's gonna work?" Eva asked her. "Hopefully. So... how'd you get that scar?" Emma asked her back. There was something about it that made her stomach turn. Something wasn't right about it. "Oh..." Eva nodded, looking out the window of the car. "My former foster Father... he had anger issues. Me, I don't seem to have that filter between my brain and my mouth" Eva told her in layman's terms.
Emma could tell she was lying but didn't press on it. "You... You know you can talk to me, right? I get it... Not every foster parent is suitable" Emma smiled at her, patting her shoulder. "I know and thanks" Eva smiled.
"I faced two fears today" Eva changed the topic. Emma raised her eyebrows at the news. "That's great! What did you do?" Emma asked her, the awful feeling in her stomach turning into a good one. "I was able to be in a room with unfamiliar men. Even though most of them were bedridden, it's still a start and it was a big change" Eva told her, feeling a sense of accomplishment over her androphobia and metathesiophobia.
Emma smiled at the young girl, proud that she was getting better with her fears. "I'm proud of you kid" She told her wholeheartedly. Eva smiled before Emma pulled up to the ballet studio. Eva was about to leave the car when she noticed a brunette walking towards them.
"Shit!" Eva exclaimed, sliding down the seat to hide from the girl. Once she passed the yellow car. Eva sat back up. Emma gave her a concerned look, never seeing the young girl so scared. "Who was that?" Emma asked the teen. "Lily, who I'm hoping is the wicked witch of the West because she's a real bitch" Eva sighed, not looking at Emma.
"Is she bullying you?" Emma questioned. Eva bit her lip before grabbing her ballet bag behind the seat. "Nothing I can't handle. See you tomorrow!" Eva smiled before leaving the car. Emma pursed her lips before starting her car. She had a feeling that Eva wasn't telling her the whole truth. Especially since Eva left her bag containing her beloved baby blanket in the car.
<><><>
"Remember, auditions for Swan Lake are coming up! Anyone who wants to audition please write your name on the sign-up sheet before leaving!" Madame Elena called out the teens and young adults.
Eva and Mara walked back to the locker room to change, laughing about some book the pair was reading. "No, but he loves her" Mara argued, opening her locker to her clothes. She went to grab her gym bag before noticing it was missing. She looked at Mara who only shrugged at her.
Laughter filled the silence, it was more like cackling from a bird if Eva had to compare. "Missing your clothes?". Eva turned around quickly, her brows furrowed as she glared at the girl. "Lily, where are my clothes?" Eva sighed, her will to fight the girl nonexistent. Lily looked at Eva with faux innocence, shrugging her shoulders lightly before leaving her in the changing room. Mara rummaged through her bag, hoping she had some clothes to spare.
"Sorry E, I've got nothing" Mara sighed, seeing her best friend and the verge of tears. "No it's okay M, at least she left my phone I'll call one of the nuns" Eva lied to her, knowing that Mara's mother was waiting outside for her. "You sure E, I can wait" Mara told her, both of them knowing it was a lie. "Go, your mom already hates me enough" Eva flashed a smile before her friend left the room.
Eva clutched her stomach as she walked up to the reception. "Hi, can I borrow the phone and maybe an Advil?" She asked the woman who happily pulled out a pill bottle and gestured to the landline. Grabbing her water bottle and downing the pill, Eva punched in a number and waited for an answer.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Emma, it's Eva. C-can you pick me up?" Eva asked, leaning her head against the reception table.
"Everything okay? You don't sound too good" Emma asked.
"My stomach hurts, and so does my head and my back. My clothes are gone, can you bring me to Mary Margaret's? I have a change of clothes there" Eva told the older blonde.
"Hang tight kid, I'm coming" Emma tells her before hanging up.
Eva walks out of the ballet studio, her eyes landing on the trash can by the entrance. There were Eva's clothes, gym bag and her phone covered in garbage and food from Granny's Diner.
Eva's eyes welled with tears as she hit her back against the wall. Lily had hated her since Eva could remember, from when they started school to when Eva completed high school two years ago. And Eva didn't know why. Lily had a doting father who worshipped the ground she walked on. Unlike herself, who works odd jobs all over town, sleeps at the convent every couple of days and is currently being hunted by the owner of the town.
"Kid? You okay?" Emma asked.
Eva didn't even notice her car pull up. She raised her head to see Emma crouched down in front of her. The young teen looked up at her, tearstains on her cheeks. "No, I'm not okay" She sniffled before Emma awkwardly wrapped her arms around Eva. "Come on kid, let's get you some fresh clothes" Emma told her, wiping some of her tears from her cheek. Eva nodded before following Emma into her car.
<><><>
Mary Margaret was surprised to see both Eva and Emma at her door, more so at the sickly pale young girl. "Eva, are you okay?" Mary Margaret asked, noticing the tear stains on her face. Eva just shook her head before brushing past her and into the bathroom.
"What happened?" The teacher whispered, closing the door behind Emma. "Some kid named Lily, trashed all her clothes, phone even the bag" Emma answered just as quietly before a shrill scream came from the closed-off bathroom.
"Eva!" The two women shouted running closer to the small closed-off space. "Eva, what's wrong?" Mary Margaret asked, leaning against the door frame. There was no answer from the girl, only the sound of heavy breathing. "Kid, I'm coming in okay?" Emma told her, hoping it would cause a reaction.
"Mmm?" was the only answer from Eva. Carefully opening the door, Emma peaked her head through the gap. She licked her lips before coming in and leaving the door ajar. Eva's ballet clothes were covered in blood in the lower region. Eva was just looking at it, her eyes widened and she tried to regulate her breathing.
She had just gotten her first period.
"Mary Margaret, I think some hot cocoa, chocolate and a hot water bottle are in check and a change of clothes" Emma called out, the woman already doing as asked. Emma knelt, taking Eva's hand gently. "Eva, you good?" Emma asked carefully. "No... I've never gotten them before" Eva spoke so softly she could have been more innocent than a child. "Okay, do you know where Mary Margaret keeps the pads and tampons?" Emma asked being gentle with the clearly frightened girl in front of her.
Eva pointed to the small cabinet under the sink, her free hand shaking slightly. Emma quickly grabbed one of each just in time for Mary Margaret to leave fresh clothes and underwear on the basket in the bathroom. Emma grabbed the underwear and walked back to Eva.
"Kid, can you look at me please" Emma told her, giving her a small smile seeing the fear in her eyes. "There we go, now I remember my first period and I think the safest option would be the pad" Emma suggested, waving the wrapped-up product in her hand. Eva nodded before Emma showed her out to use the pad with the clean pair of underwear.
"Thank you" Eva whispered before Emma left the bathroom. "No problem kid" Emma nodded before leaving the girl to get dressed in private.

Emma pulled a blanket over Eva's sleeping body. The poor girl had fallen asleep the moment her head hit the pillow. While the couch she was sleeping on was small in Emma's eyes, Eva was perfectly snuggled up. Was she really that short? Emma thought before a gentle tap of wood caught her attention.
Mary Margaret smiled coly at the blonde, pushing a fresh cup of cocoa towards Emma's direction. "Thanks" Emma smiled, drinking the cocoa. "I've never seen her so... vulnerable before" The woman mentioned, making Emma furrow her eyebrows. "She's barely fourteen, how does she manage it all alone? Surely the nuns must help her" Emma questioned her.
Mary Margaret shrugged, sipping her cocoa. "They can't do much, Eva's never found the place she fits in, especially with her former foster father. No one truly knows what he did to her aside from Dr Whale, Archie and Regina. That's why she gives her all those odd jobs and babysits Henry. So she doesn't feel so alone. Hell, I've even had her staying here in the last few months" She explained to Emma, looking at the girl with empathy.
"Does she stay in the spare room?" Emma asked, remembering the conversation the night previous. "At first, but she couldn't bare the lack of life in the room, eventually she started sleeping in my bed with me. Stops the nightmares" Mary Margaret sighed. Emma looked back at Eva, her eyes catching a familiar mark on her right wrist. The older blonde quickly grabbed Eva's baby blanket, placing it beside her.
Almost immediately, Eva snuggled up to the blanket.
<><><>
Eva woke up in pain, her entire body felt like it was under attack. She groaned, sitting up and clutching her stomach. "Here you go sweetheart" Mary Margaret handed her a painkiller and a glass of water. "Thanks, where's Emma?" Eva asked her. "She's meeting us at Granny's with Henry. Come on, get dressed because breakfast is on me" the teacher beamed brightly, way too excited for Eva's taste.
"Okay" Eva said slowly. She got dressed and followed Mary Margaret. "Mary Margaret! Slow down!" Eva called after her as Mary Margaret enters the diner. Eva ran in after her, the pain in her stomach hitting her hard.
"He woke up" Mary Margaret blurted out faster than he sat down "What?"Emma and Eva said together as the latter sat next to her. "I knew it" Henry cheered. Eva took a breath, "I'm sorry, who are we talking about?" She asked the table. " I mean, he didn't 'wake up' wake up, but he grabbed my hand" Mary Margaret continued, ignoring Eva's question. "He's remembering!" Henry squealed.
"What did the doctor say?" Emma asked in disbelief at what she had been told. Her plan wasn't supposed to actually work. " That I imagined it, but I'm not crazy. I know it happened" Mary Margaret insisted. "Who are you guys on about?" Eva snapped at them. "John Doe, your Dad!" Henry told her, unfazed by her sudden outburst. "He's not my Dad" Eva sighed, banging her head against the table.
"We have to go back. You have to read to him again" Henry told Mary Margaret, grabbing his coat. " Let's go" Mary Margaret agreed, getting up from the booth and letting Henry out. "Wait, wait what?" Emma stopped the teacher. "If I got through to him if we made a connection" Mary Margaret started seeing the disbelief on Emma and Eva's faces. "You don't believe..." Emma sighed, hoping that her only friend wasn't wrapped up in this curse nonsense.
"That he's Prince Charming? Of course not. Somehow, some way, I touched him" Mary Margaret explained before running after Henry. Eva looked at Emma, eyebrows raised. "What's with the look kid?" Emma asked her. "Looks like hoping your plan would work failed. Hope's for suckers" Eva told her as they both left the diner.
<><><>
Emma, Henry, Eva and Mary Margaret arrive at the hospital. Seeing all the doctors and nurses in the room where John Doe usually is. Eva also noticed Graham. "Wait Henry" She called out but the boy ran ahead of the group. " You're right ...he's waking up" Henry smiled until Graham caught his shoulder. "Henry, you should stay back" Graham told him, looking up at the other three. "What's going on? Is it John Doe? Is he okay?" Mary Margaret asked the sheriff. " He's missing" He told them all.
The four notice that Regina is in John Doe's room. Regina sees them and approaches them with a very sour face. "What the hell are you doing here?" She asked everyone, especially eyeing Emma and Eva. She looked down at Henry with her mom glare, " And you – I thought you were at the arcade. Now you're lying to me?" She questioned Henry, not noticing Eva roll her eyes at her.
"What happened to John Doe? Did someone take him?" Mary Margaret asked Graham ignoring Regina. "We don't know yet. His IVs were ripped out but there's no sign for sure there's a struggle" Graham told them, biting his tongue from the glare Eva was giving Regina. "What did you do?" Eva and Henry spat at Regina. "You think I had something to do with this?" Regina questioned, a look of hurt that her son and the girl she cared for would ever think that of her.
"It is curious that the Mayor is here" Emma mentions, Regina quickly giving her an emotionless face. "I'm here because I'm his emergency contact" Regina stated in a professional manner. "You know him?" Mary Margaret asked Regina. I found him. On the side of the road years ago with no ID. I brought him here" Regina answered giving Eva a small glance. "Mayor Mills saved his life" Dr Whale spoke up and looked at Eva.
"And yours Ms Crow" He added making Eva turn to Regina. "What now?" She questioned. "When I found John Doe, I heard you crying in the forest I assumed that he was your father but there were no records of your birth. You were a newborn" Regina told Eva, a pit in her stomach. Eva glared at Regina, clenching her fists at the new information. She's been trying for years to find out how she was found and Regina knew this whole time.
Mary Margaret looked at Dr Whale, "Will he be okay?" She asked. "Okay? The man's been on feeding tubes for years under constant supervision. He needs to get back here right away or, quite honestly, 'okay' might be a pipe dream" Dr Whale expressed his concerns.
"Well then, let's quit yapping and start looking" Eva gritted her teeth, still glaring at Regina. "That's what we're doing? Just stay out of this, dear" Regina told her, sensing her anger before looking at Emma. "And since I clearly can't keep you away from my son, I guess I'm just going to have to keep my son away from you. Enjoy my shirt, because that's all you're getting" Regina spat at Emma, holding onto Henry's shoulder. "Sheriff, find John Doe. You heard Dr Whale. Time is precious" The mayor quickly spoke professionally before leaving with Henry.
"Doctor, how long between your rounds since you last saw him?" Graham asked him, notebook in hand. "Twelve hours or so" Dr Whale answered before leaving to tend to othet patients. "Then that's what we need to account for" Graham spoke before a loud crash made him jump.
Eva had kicked a table causing a metal tray to fall. "Absolute bitch! How dare she hide this from me!" Eva snapped, gripping her hair as tears fell down her face. Emma was quick to grab her by the shoulders, bending her knees to reach Eva's height. "Hey kid, listen to me. I promise we will sort this out later but right now someone's gonna get hurt. Can you do this?" Emma asked her, knowing Eva would want to help. Eva nodded, her eyes shut tightly as she wiped away her tears.
"We need to look at the security footage" She told them, looking up at the camera behind her.
<><><>
Everyone headed to the security room. Walter and Leroy are both there sitting down lazily. "Eva! How are you doing?" Leroy asked, giving the girl a rare smile. "Been better, you?" She asked him. Leroy only shrugged as Graham cleared his throat. "Did you two see John Doe last night?" He asked them, only to get two no's very quickly. "You two were the only employees on the floor last night. And you saw nothing" Graham said in utter disbelief, not truly believing them.
"Not a thing" Walter answered him. "Did anyone walk by?" Emma asked them. "I didn't see nothin'" Leroy told the blonde. "Miss Blanchard, was there anything unusual you saw during your trip with your class?" Graham asked the teacher. "I don't think so" She thought for a moment. Eva let out a sigh as she looked at the tapes. " We're looking at the wrong tape. This is the ward where Henry's class put up decorations. If this was really the tape from last night, we'd see the banners the kids hung" She pointed out. Causing everyone to roll their eyes.
Leroy smirked at Walter, "Tch, you fell asleep again" He stated, crossing his arms. "You selling me out" Walter snapped at him. " I ain't getting fired for this" Leroy snapped back. "At least I don't drink on the job" Walter shot back at Leroy who went to attack until Eva put her hand out. "As much as I'd like a fist fight right now, can you show us where the real tape is?" Eva asked nicely. Walter switches the tap as John Doe finally appeared on the screen. They see John Doe get up and walk out the door. " He walked out alone. He's okay" Mary Margaret sighed in relief. "Four hours ago. Where does this door lead?" Emma pointed out as she pointed at the door on screen.
"The woods" Eva answered
<><><>
Emma, Eva, Graham and Mary Margaret are in the woods searching for John Doe. Then all of a sudden Graham stops. "What is it?" Emma asked him. "The trail runs out here" Graham told her. "You sure? Because I thought tracking was one of your skills" Emma pointed out, tilting her head at Graham. "Just give me a second. This is my world. I got it" Graham huffed, walking away from the girls to find a lead.
"Right. Sorry" Emma apologised, following him. "What does he mean, 'His world'? Isn't finding people your thing, too?" Mary Margaret pondered, walking on the other side of Emma while Eva was on the other. "Sure. Just, people I find usually run places like Vegas. Not a lot hit the woods" Emma shrugged, giving Eva a side look. She didn't want to admit it but she as worried about the kid.
"That's an interesting job – finding people. How'd you fall into it?" Mary Margaret asked stupidly, not seeing Eva roll her eyes at the question. "Looking for people is just what I've done. As long as I can remember" Emma answered vaguely not wanting to go into it. "What made you start? Your parents? Henry told me that your... Th-that you were from a similar situation to his own. Did you ever find them?" Mary Margaret rambled seeing the looks from the two girls.
"Depends who you ask" Emma answered as the group hear a crack behind them. They turn around as Henry runs down a hill. "Henry!" Eva and Mary Margaret sighed at him. "Did you find him yet?" Henry asked them. "No, not yet. You shouldn't be here" Emma told him with a disappointed look. "I can help. I know where he's going" Henry stated, earning a questionable look from Eva.
"And where's that?" Eva asked him, hand on her hip. "He's looking for you" Henry told them, looking at Mary Margaret. The trio sighed and began to walk in the same direction Graham was going earlier. "You're the one who woke him up. You're the last one he saw. He wants to find you!" Henry shouted at his teacher as she walked away from him.
"Henry, it's not about me. I just... I think he's lost and confused. He's been in a coma a long time" Mary Margaret tried to explain to him as gently as possible. " But he loves you! You need to stop chasing him, and let him find you" Henry let out an exasperated sigh. Emma turned to him, stopping the group a the same time. "Kid. You need to go home. Where's your mom? She's going to kill me and then you...and then me again" Emma told him, not wanting to deal with Regina again.
"She dropped me at the house. Then, went right out" Henry told them. Eva was taken aback, that wasn't like Regina at all. "Well, we need to get you back immediately" Emma stated. "No!" Henry shouted at her before Graham shouted, "Guys!" catching everyone's immediate attention. They ran up to him, looking at the ground in shock and fear. John Doe's bloody hospital bracelet is found on the ground. "Is that..." Mary Margaret trialled off in horror.
"Blood" Emma gulped.
<><><>
The five are still searching the woods as they come to the Toll Bridge. "Where is he? Can you see him?" Mary Margaret called out, wav ng her flashlight to see anything in the pitch black. "The trail dies at the water line" Graham shouted back. Eva looked near the river and screamed, dropping her flashlight and falling back to the ground. Everyone looked in her direction, spotting John Doe lying in the water.
"Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!" Mary Margaret gasped. "I need an ambulance! At the old Toll Bridge, as soon as possible" Graham spoke on his radio as he, Emma and Mary Margaret ran to John Doe and dragged him to the shore. "No, no, no, no, no! No, no, no! I found you!" Mary Margaret mutter, lightly slapping his face hoping he'd wake up.
Emma was quick to grab Eva from the ground and holding both her and Henry away from John Doe. "It's going to be okay" She told Eva, allowing her to bury herself into her side. "Help's coming" Graham told them. "Is he okay?" Henry asked Emma timidly. "Henry" Emma muttered softly, holding him back with her free arm. "Is he going to be okay?" Henry asked again, looking up at Emma "Henry, don't look. Okay? Don't look" Emma told him, turning him to face her side like Eva.
Mary Margaret starts CPR. When she puts her mouth on his, he starts breathing again and coughs up water. "She did it. She did it! She woke him up." Henry cheered, smiling brightly at the pair. "Yeah, kid. She did" Emma smiled back at him. She looked down at Eva whose breathing was laboured. She let go of Henry and knelt down in front of Eva. "Hey kid, it's okay. You're not alone... I'm here okay. He's not gonna hurt you, I promise" Emma told Eva, getting the girl to look at her. "P-Promise?" Eva hiccuped as tears flowed down her face.
"I promise" Emma told her, pulling her in for a hug.

As John Doe was brought back to the hospital on a stretcher, all available staff took their focus to him. Thankfully Emma was able to grab a spare nurse to check on Eva. The four watched through the glass as he was being treated by doctors. But then an unfamiliar blonde bursts into the room where John Doe is being treated and rushes to his side.
"David! David, is that you?" She shouted loudly before being pulled away by Dr Whale. "Who is that?" Mary Margaret asks, watching the scene before her unfold feeling a little...jealous of the blonde. That's when Regina walks up behind them. "His wife" She states triumph, her prod smile making Eva nauseous. "His name is David Nolan. And that's his wife, Kathryn. And the joy on her face, well, it's put me in quite the forgiving mood" Regina explained to them before facing Henry, who was sat in a chair away from the room. "We'll talk about your insubordination later. Do you know what insubordination means?" Henry shook his head at Regina's question. "It means you're grounded" Regina told him, causing Hnery to deflate in the chair like a balloon.
Kathryn exits David's room with a joyous smile. "Thank you. Thank you for finding my David" SHe praised the group. "Um, I-I don't understand. You didn't... You didn't know that he was here in a coma?" Mary Margaret questioned the mysterious woman. "A few years ago, David and I were not getting along. It was my fault, I know that now. I was difficult and unsupportive. I told him if he didn't like things, he could leave. And he did. And I didn't stop him. It was the worst mistake I ever made" Kathryn explained to the woman who saved her 'husband'.
"You didn't go look for him?" Emma scoffed at her. " I assumed he'd left town all this time. And now I know why I never heard from him. Now I get to do what I've wanted to do forever ... say I'm sorry. Now we get a second chance" Kathryn beamed like she had won the lottery. "That's wonderful" Mary Margaret bit back.
<><><>
Eva was curled in a ball on the spare hospitable bed. The nurse said she was fine and to try get some sleep. Emma walked up to Eva, sitting by her feet. "Wanna talk about it?" She asked her, nudging her feet slightly. "What the betrayal of someone I thought I could trust or my major freak out at the Toll Bridge?" Eva questioned, not moving from her position. "Whichever" Emma answered.
Eva sat up and folded her legs in a meditating pose. "I've looked for anything about my discovery in the woods.. Newspaper clippings, hospital files, police reports... all of it. And Regina was the one who found me and never said a word. Nights when I was too afraid to leave her house, begging to know who I was and she just kept that from me? Who does that?" Eva sobbed, closing her eyes not wanting to cry again as tears gathered.
Emma wrapped an arm around Eva's shoulders. "I don't know, but one thing I do know is that now you have the middle of your story you just need to find the beginning to start the end. And you are not alone, you've got me" Emma told her, rubbing her shoulder soothingly.
Eva looked up at Emma before hugging her waist tightly.
"Thank you" Eva whispered softly. Emma only smiled, hugging her back.

This is looooong overdue but hopefully there won't be as long of a break as there has been. Hope you enjoyed, comment and vote!
