Four Years Later...

"Eclipse! Come here!" It was Mother calling. Eclipse paused in her reading and left her grass bed. Folding her wings neatly, she walked out of the cave. Outside, the grassland sun was bright and shining.

Celeste was waiting for her with a scroll in her green talons. Eclipse's eyes lit up when she saw the scroll. "Is that it?" she breathed.

"Yes. Do you want to read it?" Celeste held out the scroll. Eclipse grabbed it, unrolled it, and read the contents out loud.

"'For Eclipse the StarWing. You have been invited to attend the Dragonet Academy. Please be at Jade Mountain at dawn in three days to enroll. You have been assigned a winglet. You will take classes with this winglet. Announcements will be posted on a board outside your sleeping quarters, which you will share with two other female dragonets. Send a letter confirming that you will be at the Academy in three days. Thank you, Headmaster Swift the SunWing and Headmistress Rain the JungleWing.'"

Eclipse's purple-blue scales flashed brightly, revealing her excitement. Her talons shook as she looked up at her mother. "I got in. I got in! How? So many dragonets applied."

Celeste laughed happily at her daughter. "Queen Aurora chose the participants from our tribe. She thought you would take more out of the Academy than the others, since you're so intelligent."

Eclipse put her head in her talons and smiled. "Oh! I have to go pack!" She ran off towards her cave.

"Pack what?" Celeste called after her, but the purple-blue dragonet was too far off to hear.
