Chapter 15: Crashing the Reception

***

I was dressing in a white gown from centuries ago. I was shivering with goosebumps because the dress has been in the closet for the Gods only know how long. It's froid as an icicle stick."

"Now that's what you call wealthy." Andrew purrs winking at me.

"Get in the cloak, Andrew. You're not going succeed if you're seen." I demanded.

"Whatever you say." He rolled his eyes. "Now, you twinkle toes, go out there and distract them."

I hold onto Lucy's hand whilst heading out of the bedroom. We head down stairs. We can the dark french music echoing throughout the first floor.

"That's decent." I whispered. "I think Andrew is going to have fun with this."

"Oh shoot!" Lucy squealed and stopped halfway down the stairs.

"I will go back upstairs because I am pretty sure you might get caught alot easier." Lucy said and turned back around. "Good luck."

"Thanks." I said. "I think I don't really need it. Make sure Andrew is watching because if I clap my hands two times, that's the que."

"Alright!" Lucy said then went back upstairs.

I walk down the rest of the stairs. I walked into the party crowd. So far, so good. I looked around. Oh gosh! There are few guards around watching over the crowd like a hawk.

Then some french male walked up to me.

"Bonjour!" He greeted and bow to me. "Je suis Adam." (I'm Adam.)

"Je suis Sylvia." I introduced myself and I do a kirtzy. This feels humiliating. (I'm Sylvia.)

"Plaisir de vous rencontrer Sylvia, j'ai vraiment intrigué par votre robe qui est très vieux." He complimented.
(Pleasure to meet you Sylvia, I really intrigued by your gown which is very ancient fashioned.)

"Merci." I said. (Thank you.)

"Comment avez-vous trouvé?" Adam asked. (How did you find it?)

"Passé à la génération de mon nom de famille." I lied. (Passed down from generation of my last name.)

"Ah." He said pleased. "Je vous conduirai plus tard, madame." He walked back into the crowd. (I will see you later, madame.)

"Puis-je avoir toute votre attention, s'il vous plaît?" A guy also in a perfect groom said in the middle of the crowd. (May I have your full attention please?)

Here goes nothing, Sylvia, once the audience starts clapping, clap twice in the end. I talked to myself in thought.

"Ce soir est l'un des moments glorieux de mon mariage." A woman in a wedding gown said. (Tonight is one of upon glorious moments of my marriage.) Her hair is wavy and the colour of light marron. (Brown) I already can her and her beloved husband would trash the castle. They also look like a bunch of rednecks.

"Maintenant, que ce soit l'honneur de ma femme, Maddie." The husband raised a toast of his vine glass up in the air. (Now, let's us celebrate in honor for my wife, Maddie.) People started cheering and clapping, however they were silent. I properly clapped my hands twice. It was loud enough to echo throughout the hollow halls.

People were dancing and holding candles up. That's a nice delightful way to show light when you have no running electricity.

That's when Adam came up to me again. He must've been trying to act like the mythical tale of Adam and Eve. That rhymes with multiple verses. Adam and leave or Adam can leave!

He extend his hands out towards me asking to dance. I slowly extended my hand to his. He grabbed my other hand. As we begin to twirl, I saw Andrew's cloak brushing pass us in the dark. All the candle lights blew out.

"Huh?" The audience said to each other.

"Que se passe-t-il? I asked Adam. I try to play my role as a crowd until Andrew finally would scare them out. Adam didn't answer. (What's going on?)

"Heeeeeehhhhh!" I heard a hiss sounded like a snake in the darkest hallway. That's when Adam let go of me. Adam looked at the same direction where I was looking at. The whole crowd stand in place and watch in silence.

"Heeeeehhhhh!" I heard Andrew's hiss again.

"Les anges trompent ce qui se cache dans les ténèbres." One of the crowd prayed. (The angels deceive what is hidden within the darkness.)

"Grrrrrrrr!" I heard a tiger growl. I think Andrew heard the prayer. I bet he wasn't effected by it.

That's when I saw some rock flew and landed into the crowd. There was a scream then soon shrieks of pure terror.

"Le mal a frappé mon mari! Sortez! Dépêchez-vous, allons-y!" (Evil struck my husband! Get out! Hurry, let's go!) I heard a woman screaming which might of been Maddie, the wife.

I hope you don't come back and claim Andrew's castle, you brat ignorant troublemaking cocky hypocrite.

Woah! Mind calm down! You lost it there and you don't even know who Maddie is! I screamed inside my mind.

Well that chick and her husband annex your home without permission and it would tick you and Andrew off. Time for a scare, Sylvia. My mind whispered back to me.

That's when I heard scratches upon the walls. Everyone was starting running towards the exit. Then Andew threw two rocks into the crowd. That's when the crowd started screaming again. They ran towards the exit. I slowed down near the exit and watch everyone go out.

I turned around and walk back. Then I heard Andrew running towards me.

"They're gone!" He growled. "I don't want to see them back here!"

I sigh and walked towards where the party was going to. That's when my foot stepped on something mushy and hard. When my eyes adjust to the darkness, I stepped on a man! I flipped taking a step back.

"It's okay, calm down." Andrew put his arms around me.

I then realize the man was old and looked familiar. Pale, skinny, and covered with wrinkles. It was the same who kicked my siblings and I out of the shed! The one who stole my mom's purple Cadillac! The one who made me felt ashamed!

There was a rock near him. I saw dark liquid oozing from his head down to his face. It was blood! The cranky old man was lying still.

I didn't wanted to kill the cranky old man. I may have feelings of knocking the old man out like I did prior in time. Well, Andrew avenged for me unsuspectedly. He may rest in peace and I won't disturb him any longer.
