Chapter 2
You were furiously scribbling in your vent book about your boss. If you had one chance to hit him with two frying pans you would do it in a heartbeat. You will lose your job, and your source of income and possibly be arrested for assaulting a military sergeant. He had bosses himself but, he acted like he was in charge of everyone including the higher-ups.
"Fucking stupid bald-headed cropped hair bastard... Should knock his ass out if only my foot can reach that high or my fists." You were talking out loud in the privacy of your own office so, no need to worry about prying ears. You vented a little longer before sighing. You really needed to go give those meningitis C vaccines to the three newbies it's the only one they don't have and, they'll need it. You were wearing blue and yellow scrubs today wanting to change from the traditional white. The colors reminded you of something unable to remember specifically what.
"Oi, toots knock knock." This time you rolled your eyes turning to your boss with a dead-pan look. Of course, he had the audacity to smirk. "Cute look, don't you have somewhere to be." You rolled your eyes making sure he saw this time.
"Learn to properly knock and I was getting to it." You grabbed all the stuff you needed, exiting your office and ensuring it was locked behind you. You went to walk but, were grabbed by the arm to face your boss who had a sickeningly sweet grin across his face.
"Don't get sassy with me darling, don't forget who's in charge." You could've said your father but, you were being good. You simply faked a smile
"I thought you liked a little bite." He allowed you to pull away this time watching you with a snarl on his face as you made your way to the med bay already seeing the three men waiting patiently. Please let them be cordial and bearable like everyone else.
"Hey Dr. L/N!" Your eyes turned to see Hudson and Grayson sitting in the other medical bay so you raised an eyebrow and tilted your head at them. "We don't have our meningitis shots." Your face went blank going towards where all the supplies were glad to see extras. This is why you always kept extras of everything. You felt eyes burning into your back and, you turned to look up to see that Konig and Ghost were staring into your soul. You were used to it and when you looked over to Dmitri his eyes moved just enough to make it seem he was daydreaming. He probably was considering his social anxiety.
"Stop looking up at the sky, these men need to get their shots and get back to work like you princess." You felt the vial in your hand squeak with the force you gripped, turning towards your boss with a forced smile. You opened your mouth to retort but, stopped watching a hand land heavily on your boss's shoulder making him flinch.
"She has a name and don't you have work to do yourself? There are some rookies in the barracks that can use your expertise." You watched as your dad came into view towering over the man with a not-so-kind smile. "Come on Prince Charming." You couldn't resist the grin as your dad pushed the man in front of him and turned to you with a wink before following him. You didn't have to worry about your boss for the rest of the day.
"Didn't know you had the Colonel L/N wrapped around your finger." You turned in surprise that Ghost spoke first. You thought it would have been Hudson or Grayson. You smiled softly at that turning to the door to make sure no one was near.
"Well, maybe." You would have told them he is your dad but, you knew Grayson and Hudson wouldn't be quiet. You'll give them their shots first and send them on their way. It was quiet as you worked on giving Hudson his shot who took it like a champ and then Grayson was dramatic but, that was just him.
"Is it in yet?" You rolled your eyes at him
"That's what she said." That distracted him enough for you to give him his shot and he hissed
"You fucking little ass-" You cut him by forcing Tylenol in his mouth and pressing a water bottle to his mouth.
"You'll be sore today now go." He gave you a stink eye leaving the med bay, while you smirked keeping eye contact with you until you could no longer see each other. You prepared the other three shots gesturing for the new men to line up next to each other on the bed and pull up their sleeves.
"Colonel L/N is my dad." You glanced up to catch a glimmer of surprise in their eyes. "I think the three of you can keep a secret." Nothing else was said as you gave them their shots along with Tylenol for fever and body aches. You popped some too for the killer headache you have that you called Boss. You hated even saying his name that's why you just referred to him as boss. Why would they let someone like that be so high of a rank? Too bad he is not as high as your dad.

It was two days later when you got another visit from the boss and God did you miss your two days of reprieve from him?
"Oi, princess, may you please come here." You raised an eyebrow at the boss man surprised that he actually said please. He always thought he was above the need to use manners. Cautiously but, swiftly to keep from hearing his grating voice an extra time you made your way to him. He held out some folders for you to take and you did look at them.
"What are these for, sir?" Unlike him, you had manners regardless of how much you may or may not dislike an individual.
"More medical stuff that needs to be put on the computer." You nodded your head and he sent you on your way without so much as a word. You were shocked but, you weren't about to count your chickens so you headed straight for the medical unit not bothering to look up while glancing down at the files. You probably should have been looking up.
"I thought I put their data-" You were cut off by crashing into a wall. You thought it was a wall as you stumbled still holding onto the folders since they would be a bitch to organize.
"I'm sorry" You jumped not recognizing the voice looking straight up into the eyes of Dmitri who was twitching in the spot. Right, anxiety.
"It's okay! I really need to pay attention because I thought I hit a wall. See you later" You didn't say his name unsure how he would feel about you saying it since neither one of you was familiar with each other enough. You were a nurse and he was a military personnel. You walked away missing the way his eyes followed yours rubbing the part of his back you bumped into in thought. You thought he was a wall? He felt a little smug that his muscles to you were that strong. Plus for him.

The chapters are going to be a little short, this is a slow burn because I do not know how to rush a romance from strangers to friends to lovers without it seeming forced. Thank you, guys, so much for taking the time to read this story!
