Chapter_26
The car pulled up to a stop at the entrance of a cemetery, and Meryl awoke from her light sleep as it came to a halt. She looked around, confused and disoriented.
"Promise me you won't freak out?" Tyrson asked suddenly, turning to look at her. Meryl's heart began to pound in her chest as she gave him a suspicious look.
"What do you mean?" she asked. Tyrson reached into the backseat and pulled out a bouquet of flowers. In that moment, Meryl realized where they were, and her eyes widened in shock.
Meryl's eyes welled up with tears as she hurriedly got out of the car and began to walk away, but Tyrson followed after her. He caught up to her and put a hand on her arm, stopping her in her tracks.
"Meryl, what are you doing?" he asked. "You can't just leave without visiting her again."
Meryl sobbed, her heart aching. It had been four years since she had visited Joanna's grave, and the guilt of not being able to protect her still weighed heavily on her. She couldn't bring herself to face her.
"It was all my fault," Tyrson said, his own eyes filling with tears. "I couldn't protect her."
"She must think I'm a bad mother, Tyrson," Meryl whispered, her voice cracking as she sobbed.
Tyrson pulled her into a tight hug, and she buried her face in his chest, her sobs wracking her body. "I left her alone for four years," she stammered between sobs. "She must have been so scared and lonely."
Tyrson held her close, trying to comfort her as best he could.
Tyrson continued to pat her hair until she eventually calmed down. When she was ready, they walked over to Joanna's grave, where they laid the bouquet of flowers.
Afterwards, they sat on a bench outside the graveyard. Tyrson handed Meryl a bottle of water, which she took slowly and drank from.
She held the bottle in her hands, looking at it thoughtfully. "You don't have to think she was alone," he said gently. "I've always been with her."
Meryl turned to look at him.
It was true, Tyrson visited her grave nearly every time he was in the area. He had to travel a long way to get here, and he always spent time sitting near her grave, talking about anything and everything with her.
"You didn't hurt her, did you?" Meryl asked, searching his eyes for the truth. He smiled sadly at her.
"Time will tell," he said, turning away. It broke his heart that she could still think he might have hurt his own child.
"I won't believe it," Meryl said firmly, and Tyrson's smile faded.
"Even if I saw it with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe you could do such a thing," she said, her voice choked with emotion. Tyrson felt his own eyes begin to well up with tears.
Hearing those words from her meant more to him than she could know. He'd been wanting to hear them for years, but he hadn't dared hope that she might say them.
It suddenly dawned on Meryl that she had never really gotten over him. In fact, she loved him more than ever.
They had both needed each other when they lost Joanna, and perhaps Joanna had come back to them in the form of Michelle. But would he feel the same way about Michelle, if he knew the truth?
She hesitated, unsure of what to say. "Did you mean what you said?" he asked, his voice stuttering. She could see the hope in his eyes, and she knew that he was desperate to believe her.
Her eyes conveyed everything she felt in that moment, and he could see the truth in them.
"Sleep with me," she said, her voice blunt and her face emotionless. He stared at her, incredulous. Had she finally lost it?
"What... what are you saying?" he asked, laughing in disbelief. But her expression didn't change, and he knew she was serious.
He stood up and turned away, trying to gather his thoughts. She was clearly not in her right mind, she was emotionally unstable.
Meryl started laughing softly at herself - she couldn't believe she had just asked her boss or perhaps her ex husband to sleep with her. It was a ridiculous and inappropriate request, and she knew it.
Tyrson suddenly turned back around and pulled her up from the bench, holding her by the arms.
She was about to ask what he was doing, when he wrapped his other arm around her waist and pulled her close, kissing her passionately.
She was shocked, but she found herself kissing him back, lost in the moment.
He wasn't sure what he was doing, but he needed this, he needed her. She pulled him closer, her hands clutching at his tie, and he felt like he couldn't get enough of her.
He moved his hands from her arms to the back of her neck, deepening the kiss. Suddenly, he pulled away, leaving her panting, and he gently caressed her hair.
Meryl looked up at him, confused and breathless. Why did he stop?
He had always done that when they were still married,"it's getting late" was all he said and he started walking her to the car.
As they got into the car she had no Idea while she was disappointed but he had his reason for not going far with her.
He took him a lot of effort before he broke the kiss he just had to take things slow with her.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the hotel. Tyrson led her to his room, and Meryl was left wondering what he was up to.
He closed the door behind them, and Meryl was about to say something when he put his finger to her lips. "Tyrson..." she began, but he cut her off.
"You still want to sleep with me?" he asked, his voice husky. She was confused. Why was he bringing this up again?
"I..." she began, but he cut her off with a kiss, and she melted into it, her hands finding their way to his neck.
Suddenly, he lifted her off the ground and she wrapped her legs around his waist, their bodies pressed together.
His hands cupped her backside, and she gasped, a wave of pleasure building in her core. It had been years since she had felt this way.
She pulled away from the kiss, panting. "What are we doing?" she asked, her voice unsteady.
Tyrson's eyes were dark and full of desire. He looked at her for a moment, then spoke. "I think we both know what we're doing," he said. "We can stop if you want. But I don't want to."
She couldn't take her eyes off of his lips. She could feel her resolve slipping, but she wasn't sure if that was a good thing.
"F-ck me," she said, her voice thick with desire. She threw herself at him, crashing her lips into his.
Meryl started to unbutton his shirt, and he helped her take it off. Then he began to unzip her dress, and it fell to the floor in a pool of fabric around her feet. She hadn't even noticed him unzipping it.
They were both breathing heavily, their bodies flushed with heat.
She felt the warmth of his breath against her neck, and it sent shivers down her spine.
She could feel his fingers moving slowly up her thigh, and she wondered if she was ready for this. She closed her eyes, surrendering to the moment.
Tyrson was gentle, but there was an urgency to his touch, a desperate need. He had wanted her for so long, and now she was finally here with him. He was careful with her, but his passion was undeniable.
Meryl moaned softly as he caressed her, and his hand moved to her hip, pulling her closer to him.
Meryl felt dizzy, and she was beginning to lose herself in the moment. Tyrson's touch was electrifying, and she was consumed by the sensation of his body against hers. She had never felt anything like it in so many years.
As they explored each other's bodies, she began to forget everything else. She was swept up in a wave of desire and need, and all she could think about was being with him. Everything else fell away.
He carried her to the bed and laid her down, their lips never breaking contact. Finally, Tyrson pulled away, his breath coming in short gasps. He looked down at her, and she felt her heart skip a beat.
Meryl reached up and ran her fingers through his hair, smiling at him. "You're pretty good at that," she said, teasing him.
He smirked. "Is that a compliment?"
"It's a statement of fact," she said, still smiling. She tugged on his hair playfully.
He laughed, his lips close to her skin again. "Yes, ma'am," he said, before continuing his ministrations. She bit her lip to keep from moaning again, and she closed her eyes, giving herself over to the moment.

Meryl woke up in the middle of the night, feeling tired and disoriented. She looked over at Tyrson, who was fast asleep next to her.
He looked so peaceful and young in his slumber, like a little boy.
She couldn't help but think back to the times when they were together, when she would watch him sleep just like this.
It had been so long, and yet it felt like no time at all had passed. She couldn't deny that she had missed him, missed this.
She realized that her whole body must be covered in hickeys, and she couldn't help but smile.
It had been so long since she had been with anyone.
Tyrson stirred in his sleep, but didn't wake up. The moonlight shone through the window, and she could see his face clearly. He was so handsome, even in his sleep.
She knew she had to get up before him, take a shower, and leave the room before anyone else woke up. She couldn't risk being seen with him like this.
The last thing she wanted was for this to affect her work, especially considering he was the CEO.
It was best if no one knew about their history, and she certainly didn't want people talking about her behind her back.
She leaned over and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. She knew that was a bad idea, but she couldn't help herself.
He stirred in his sleep, and then his arms suddenly shot out, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her close.
"I have to go," she whispered, even though she didn't want to. She needed to get out of there before anyone else woke up.
his eyes still closed,"please..." He pleaded and she couldn't resist him.
As she waited for him to fall asleep again, she began to relax in his arms. She was so comfortable, and all her worries seemed to melt away. Before she knew it, she had drifted off to sleep as well.
Tyrson smiled as he heard her snoring lightly. She looked so peaceful, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over him. He didn't want to wake her, so he settled back into sleep as well.

"Oh f*ck!" Meryl's eyes snapped open as she awoke to the morning light streaming through the window. She looked around, and realized she had slept off. She looked to her right, but Tyrson wasn't there.
Panic set in as she threw the covers off and saw that she was still naked. She scrambled to gather her clothes from the floor and put them on, feeling like she had made a huge mistake.
She looked around the room, taking in the mess they had made the night before. Everything they had done came crashing back to her. What had she been thinking?
The state of the room was evidence of the intensity of the night before. The bed was a mess, clothes were strewn about, and a lamp had been knocked over. It was clear that they had been swept up in the moment.
Oh gawd!
Meryl couldn't believe what she had done. She had wanted this, but now she was second-guessing herself.
As she thought about it, she realized that they might have been loud enough to wake the others.
She was pulled out of her thoughts by Tyrson's voice. "Meryl!" he said, entering the room looking fresh and handsome in a white T-shirt and gray sweatpants. She couldn't help but stare.
"Hey," she said awkwardly. He shrugged, as if to say he knew things had changed this morning, but he didn't want them to.
He opened his mouth to say something, but she cut him off before he could speak. "I should go," she said quickly. "It wouldn't be good if I was caught in your room."
He nodded, a small smile on his face. He watched as she left the room, feeling a sense of loss. He didn't want things to change between them. He didn't want her to leave.
