"You've fallen down, haven't you? What's your name?"

...

"[Y/N]? That's a nice name."

You blinked once, then twice in an attempt to remove the white fog that surrounded your vision. Panic began to course through you at the realization that the white film would not dissipate. "W-Where am I?" you asked to no one in particular.

"You know exactly where you are."

You stiffened. Of course you recognized the voice, but you were not accustomed to the hatred that ran through its very words. Your eyes darted around the vast gray land that seemed to stretch on for eternity, looking for any form of an escape route.

"G-Geno?" you whispered, as if afraid that speaking loudly would cause him to kill you.

The skeleton materialized within inches from your face. The white film that had clouded one of his eyes had vanished, revealing the mess of his right eye. He twitched, fueled by some unknown hatred. It wasn't hard to tell that it was directed at you. "You know exactly what you have done."

You opened your mouth to protest, when the onrush of memories hit you. Fresh's lifeless body crumbling before your very eyes, the sudden torrent of emotions that had channeled inside of you, altering the very fabric of existence.

"Am I dead?" you whispered, your hand brushing against your eyes. Much to your horror, a white film similar to the one that had shrouded Geno's eyes now covered your left eye.

"Yes..." Geno replied, the one harsh tone that laced his voice changing into one of sympathy. "But theoretically, you are neither."

His anger resumed. "The spell you cast had the potential to crack the entire foundation on which the multiverse exists. One should not have that much power..." His voice trailed off, his pinpricks staring down at your left hand.

Your gaze fell to your hand, horror rushing through you at the black tendril that was squeezing against your wrist. "Nice to see you again," the familiar demonic voice chuckled. There was a slight annoyance at Chara's sudden materialization.

"Why can't you leave me alone?!" you snapped, your hands balled into fists. "Whatever sick game you've been playing at... Congratulations! You succeeded in making sure that I died!"

"Such arrogance..." Chara scolded and looked up at Geno. "Was I always like this?"

"I..." You took a step back, struggling against her grasp.

Many years ago...

"STOP IT!" you roared and dug your nails into your scalp, screaming as distant memories poured into your mind. Chara only chuckled as you collapsed to the ground, whimpering like an injured animal.

Many years ago a human fell into the Underground. The reason they fell...

Adventure? Curiosity? Suicide?

The answer was never known.

But the child contained within them a burning hatred for humanity. They discussed little about their life on the Surface when they were finally adopted by the Dreemurr family. To them, positive interaction with living life forms was almost alien.

Over time, the human opened themselves up to the royal family. The days passed by without time, but for the human, they did not care. For the first time in what felt like eons, their life was finally valued by someone.

But within in the child's mind, a sense of repulsion began to grow from the royal family's kindness. It drove them to the point of madness, for to be rejected by one's species is by itself a form of torture.

The family was not oblivious to the child's madness and sought help from the Royal scientist Gaster. He then revealed a prototype machine he had been designing, one to extract certain elements of a soul. It was theorized that they could isolate [Y/N]'s insanity and free them from their mental prison.

With much force, they coaxed [Y/N] into the lab, where it was then that they had the madness separated. The aftermath was chaos.

The insanity manifested as a completely different being, in which would later be named Chara. And for what remained of [Y/N], they became a hollow shell, for a part of them had been torn away. Only a few hours later, they too perished.

But for their soul, it could neither exist nor decease, for it was incomplete. It sought out the nearest living creature it could find, which happened to be a nearby human that both resembled them in appearance. This character was known as Frisk.

However, Frisk's soul was kicked from their body and passed into the void. Whereas [Y/N] has gained dominant control over the human body. However, they retained no memory of their previous life.

Chara was kept within the lab, until their very existence drove Gaster to the point of insanity. He broke the jar as then cast himself into the Core, never to be heard from again. Chara then existed as an invisible character that resided within the Underground.

They too were an incomplete soul and could find no being to latch onto.

Until now.

You broke free from the onrush of memories, sweat lining your brow. You inched yourself away from Chara, dreading the inevitable. "Now that you're 'dead,'" she explained, "your soul remains incomplete, neither complete nor empty. I am your other half, [Y/N]. We shall join together as we were always meant to be."

You opened your mouth in a silent scream as Chara dissolved into a black liquid. The substance traveled up your arm and poured into your mouth and eyes. You body shook uncontrollably as hot and cold flashes racked down your spine. "HELP ME!" you screeched, clawing at the floor.

Geno only shook his head sadly. "This is how it was always meant to be [Y/N]."

He then relayed a series of images into your mind. Your spell had corrected the multiverse, bringing back Ink and all others who had deceased. Yet they retained no memory of you.

Despite your current situation, you couldn't help but feel relieved that some good had come out of the spell. Your body gave another giant shudder as Chara's existence intertwined with your's.

Your [S/D] heart appeared in front of you. For the first time, you noticed that in the lower right-hand corner that there was a significant chunk missing. A red portion floated into view and attached itself to your soul. Much to your horror, it was a perfect fit. The color of your soul melted away into it was a deep crimson.

As it was always meant to be, the voice rang in your head. For a brief moment, you thought that Chara had taken residence inside of your mind. It was only then that you realized that it was you.

You were Chara.

Chara was you.

You let out a sadistic laugh, clutching your hair as you rocked back and forth. A red knife appeared in your hand, sending chills down your spine. You had the power no being in the multiverse could match! Not even Ink!

"I think I'm going to be doing a little redecorating," you smirked and placed three fingers against Geno's skull. His body trembled slightly before collapsing to the ground. He shrank in size until he was the size of your palm.

You examined the lifeless version of him.

"My puppet."
