Sometimes the remake is better than the original and that is in this case. There was more of a story then just basketball and it wasn't stupid. There were more white men then the originally that only had 1 white man which doesn't make sense because it's "men" not "man". More then one. I like that in this the main white man has a girlfriend who is black, and he is aware of the issues. There were also just as many scenes of the main black guy and other black guys then the white guy. I felt like there is a better balance and really enjoyed this. We see more of a friendship between the white guy and the black guy, and they both helped each other with different things. I also liked the modern references they made.
