Horus at my door (Gadralneure) Wk - 3-4
Horus at my door (a haiku chain)
Homeward over dunes,
there an ancient carved stone dome
in sands before us.
In sands before us,
an entrance dark and deep,
torches held on high.
Torches held on high,
corridors beneath the sand,
then a massive room.
Then a massive room,
hieroglyphs upon the walls,
bones upon the floor.
Bones upon the floor,
evil lurking in the dark,
angry voices call out.
Angry voices call out
defending their sacred home,
a spectre stands tall.
A spectre stands tall,
mighty Horus god of sky,
pointing angrily.
Pointing angrily,
intones a violent threat,
"Each one shall now die!"
Each one shall now die,
all my friends dissolved to dust,
in terror I flee.
In terror I flee
back across the desert sands,
home now in my room.
Home now in my room
looking at the misty moors,
Horus at my door.
Horus at my door
seeking out my cur'sed soul
owed to him by me.
Owed to him by me,
heading back against my will,
homeward over dunes.
