Chases p.o.v:
Its been a very, very busy week. Me and Riley have been together now for just over a month and I thought after the week we've had, that it would a good idea if me and Riley went on a little get away. So I planned a weekened get away, for us in a little cabin a few hours away from town. Its very private and I know that Riley is going to love it! Riley comes in from the shops, "Hey babe" she says giving me a quick kiss. "Hey..." I say returning a kiss. "Riley listen...I know it was our 1 month anniversary a few days ago, and I know that we didnt get to do anything because of work...." She just starred looking kind of confused." So I rented us out a small cabin a few hours away from town, for the weekend. Just for us!" Her confusion instantly turned happiness as the biggest smile spread accross her face as she let out a sqeal! " wow! Chase that sounds amazing!" "Glad to hear, now...go pack your bags we leave in 2 hours!" I say giving her a little shove towards the bedroom.

2 days earlier:
I walk into Chief Boden's and sit down. "Chase, what can I do for you?" "As you know its mine and Rileys 1 month anniversary today and because of work we havent been able to do anything to celebrate, so I was planning on spending the weekend away in a cabin, a few hours out of town, with Riley this weekend and I was wodering if you could possibly get people in to cover our shifts or take ambo 67 out of action for the weekend..." I said with a questioning look on my face. "That sounds great, and Ill take ambo 61 out of action this weekend due to maintenance issues and have Mills and Brett use your rig." I smile and say"Thanks chief!" I stand up and shake his hand before heading out of his office, "oh and Chase...enjoy your weekend" "Thanks Chief, we will!"

Current day:
"Riley come on...if we leave now we'll make it before sun set!" "Okay! Okay! Im ready!" I put our bags into the car before opening the car door for Riley. I shit the door behind her and het into the drivers seat. I put on a mix CD that I created with all of Riley's favourite songs. She starts singing and I cant help but just look at her...how happy she is. "Chase..I love you!" "I love you too!" I say with a smile on my face. I love seeing Riley this happy, knowing what shes been through, being her work partner from day one and all. I cant wait to spend a quiet weekend away with Riley.

We were 1 hour into our journey, and Riley was still singing along to the music. It was getting late and sunset was around 1 1/2 away so I really wanted to get to the cabin before so we could see the sun set. We stopped at a red light, I put my hand onto Riley's thigh, she looked at me and smiled. Riley's smile always makes me smile.

The light turn green and I pulled out into the junction. We were half way across when another car came speeding across straight into the side of our car. The car flipped eventually the car ened up on its roof. Everything went dark, when I woke up I could hear sirens getting louder in the background but my main focus was Riley. I looked over and saw she was unconscious with a large gash to her head. Next thing I knew paramedics were talking to us. "...Chase? GUYS ITS CHASE AND RILEYS WE NEED TO GET THEM OUT ASAP!!" I looked over and saw Mills and Brett crouched down next to the car.

"Is Riley okay?"...I was trying to get someone's attention. "MILLS! Is Riley okay? Please I have to know!!" I found myself begging. "Chase shes okay but you need to calm down!" I took a few deep breathes and nodded a responce.

Soon we had been pulled out of the car by Casey and Severide and were being loaded into an ambulance. "Chase, what happened?" "I dont know..one minute we were driving through the intersection and the next thing I know we were upside down" I felt a hand on my should and saw I was Severides. "Chase your okay..everythings gunna be okay but you need to stay calm! Okay? " "okay...thanks" I pats my shoulder just before the ambulance comes to a steady stop. The doors open and Im pulled out and surrouned by nurses and doctors.
