Nightmare?

Roshni's Pov

1.5 Months Later

Sunrays fell on me. I am feeling like I am waking up from a long sleep. Smelling good. The nightmare was horrible!

I opened my eyes and it took me a few minutes to adjust myself with the environment.

WHAT THE HECK! IS THIS A HOSPITAL?

I tried to wake up. I acciedently pushed the glass which was on the side table. I realised that my hairs were cut short. Whats even happening?

Aman's POV

I heard a noise and woke up. I was sleeping on the couch. The girl woke up. Yes, ROSHNI WOKE UP. FINALLY!

I slowly went toward her. She looked confused about the sorroundings.

Aman:Hey..Roshni!

She looked at me with her hazel eyes. I just looked at her eyes once when she was taken here ,she was half concious then. She had opened the eyes once.

Roshni: What am I doing here? And where are my hairs?

Aman:Calm down. Sab thik hojayega.

Roshni:Kya thik hoga? Kahan hun main? (shouted)

I tried to go near her but she pushed me. Normal thing. All the nurses and doctors came there listening her shoutings. They all looked at me sitting on the floor. They were about to help me but I stopped them and stood by myself.

Roshni:Tum..Tum koun ho?

Aman:Listen to me..

Roshni: Call my parents please.. and-

She was breathing heavily. I hurrily conforted her and rested her head on my chest. Suddenly, she gets a reality check. She started shivveribg like anything. She must have understood the fact.

Roshni:Wosab bura sapna nahi tha? Kya sachmein wo sab hua mere saath?

I was silent.

Roshni:Batao na..Kya sachmein main ab paak nahi rahi? Ab sab mujhse nafrat karenge?

I don't know what to say.

Roshni:Bataooo

She started screaming on top her voice. She burst into tears realised what she was considering as a nightmare, was actually happened with her. I signaled the other people to go out. I broke the hug and sat beside her.

Aman: You are a fighter, Roshni! You are still breathing. You need to be strong. And about the purity, tum ab bhi paak ho.

She is looking at me with big eyes with tears.

Aman: And about that matter, its been 1.5 months already. You were in coma. You will be fit and fine in a few days. I am your doctor.

Roshni: Par ab toh sab mujhse nafrat karenge na? Abbu will hate me, the society.. Ap bhi merepe taras khaa rahe ho na?

Tears rolled down by her cheecks. Poor girl!

Aman:Nahi nahi.. Tum fighter ho, Roshni! Tum jis condition mein thi, uss condition mein log haar jaatey and you stood against it!

Roshni:Main fighter hun?

She asked me with disbelief.

Aman: Yes, Roshni!

She kept her head again on my chest. Honestly, I feel good now.

In these 1.5 months, I only attented her needs. She was in coma but I could feel her. I became so attatched with this angel. She is a fighter and she will fight back against those bastards and i will make sure of it.

Roshni looked at me.

Roshni: Is my face okay? They had throw some liquid and it was..burning..

She saw her burnt hands.

Roshni:My hands.. what about my face?

Aman: Lets not talk about this. Are you hungry?

Roshni:Dont ignore my question, please. I want to be a model. I love my face so much, doctor.

Aman:About that, we need to do a little surgery and it will be fine like before.

Roshni: Is it burnt? (Touching her own face)

Aman: Roshni, are you hungry?

Roshni:Dont you dare to change the topic! (Shouted) Get me a mirror. Fast!

Aman:Roshni..

She just pushed  me and get off the bed. She is searching for a mirror and thankfully, in this room, there is none.

Atlast, she found a steel plate, in which she could see her reflection. Oh shit! She just caressed her face.

Roshni:Will..will it be fine, doctor?

I can understand what the poor soul is going through. She said she wanted to be a model. And those bastards!

Roshni held my hand.

Roshni:Tell me, na?

Aman:All will be okay. Soon.

She smiled. Oh man, SHE SMILED! This makes me so happy. This is the first time that I am seeing her smiling and her smile is the best.

Roshni: I am hungry, doctor. Will you please bring me something to eat?

Aman:Yes, yes sure.

I went near her and caressed her face.

Aman:Promise me, you will stay mentally strong, no matter what. If you promise so, I am also promising to make everything alright. Those bastards will get punished.

Roshni: I promise. Thank you.

Her voice was cracking. She was trying to be strong and she is gonna make it. I know right.

Roshni's POV

No one can understand what I am going through. This man claims to understand me but he is doing his duty only. I lost my diginity, my virginity, my everything. The society won't accept me easily and- and they will treat me like a shit.

The doctor went to bring food for me. What am I supposed to do now? Should I cut my slit or should I hang myself? Unfortunately, I can't do any of these. I promised that doctor that I will stay strong. I am not a coward.

But the inciedent is something which I am gonna regret my whole life. I am raped.  I am an acid victim. Some people will show sympathy, some will show hate. Thats what I need to accept for now.

I felt someone entered. It must be that handsome doctor, i mean my doctor, who is treating me. He is handsome ngl. I am giving a proper glance now. He is wearing a pink shirt with a white coat in, he looks cute. He is wearing spectacles. What will be the power?

He is serving the food.

Roshni: Doctor?

Aman:Yes?

Roshni: Do all the doctor wear spectacles? Is it for doctors' fashion? (With a grinn on my face)

Aman's POV

What I just heard? Well, still I need to answer her damn question.

Aman: I don't know about others but I don't see much. My eyes has distance issue. Since childhood.

Roshni:I see, doctor.

She started eating her food.

Roshni:Doctor, can you call my parents please??? I will give you number.. Its 978..

And this is what I was fearing about. She finally asked and I don't know what to answer!

Writer's note- Its a sensitive matter indeed. We really don't know how a rape victim actually feels. Here, Roshni is trying to say strong but I don't know how long she can be. Victims often get suicidial thoughts thinking about the society and the society needs to change the thinking toward these victims. In many cases, the family supports and in cases like Roshni's one, families fear about their dignity only. But this needs to be changed ASAP.
