Chapter 1: We Lost

Ally's POV

"You remember now, Ally?!" Slugcat yelled in the heat of the fight. A rush of memories flooded back back to me: the Author Mansion, the missions, everything, right up until the point I got knocked out. I remembered my left hand being chopped off, but why was it still here? How did I still have my left hand when Emily chopped it off?

"Yeah, but my left hand got chopped off! How is it still on my wrist?!" I asked, while throwing my dagger at a monster, who disingretated into ashes. Valdezi slayed the last monster with his Wolverine claws, and I smiled as I remembered making the Author Gear.

"We have to go!" Cyan informed me, and I ran to my older sister, who was leading the younger ones out of the school. I told her,

"Tell Mom and Dad I have to go." I took off my Camp Half Blood bead necklace, and gave it to my sister, the n allowed myself to be led out of the school by Slugcat, Valdezi and Cyan. We didn't stop running until we were deep in a forest. As we sat down on the forest grass, panting, I asked,

"Where are we going? How do I still have my left hand? Why did Chi Yi tell me our world wasn't real?" Cyan replied,

"It wasn't really chopped off, it was a trick of the Mist. You nearly got your hand chopped off, but Hazel was hiding there and manipulated the Mist. And the four of us, my friend, are going to Camp Half-Blood." I got up, and I saw Thalia's tree up nearby the hill, and the Golden Fleece glittering on it's lowest branch in all it's glory as a dragon lay beneath the Fleece, sleeping soundly. The farmhouse was on the top of the hill.

"Camp Half Blood? What about Slugterra? And why was I informed our world didn't exist?" They frowned when I mentioned Slugterra, and the rest of the trip was silence. When we arrived, I saw a lot of familiar faces: Nico, which his obsidian black eyes, Leo with his chocolate brown hair. I saw a familiar demigod jog towards us, a pen sticking out from his pocket. His sea green eyes sparkled in the sun and his raven black hair unruly and disarray.

"Percy! Sup!" Slugcat greeted and Percy smiled and acknowlegded everyone before looking at me. His friendly smile melted and he deadpanned,

"I thought you were dead." Then his expression became shocked and fearful, and he started whispering frantically to the rest of the Authors, and after a quiet but heated conversation, he turned to me and told me,

"Come with me to the Big House. You three," he gesturned to the rest of the Authors, "get Leo Shane." I followed Percy to the Big House, where a centaur and a man were playing a card card. The centaur's head brushed the top of the ceiling, and he had a light brown beard along with shaggy, brown hair. From the top, he was a grown man, with a cotton shirt and a bow and quiver. The man was wearing a purple shirt and sweatpants, and he smelled strongly of grapes. He had a jet black beard and disarray black hair.

"Chiron?" Percy asked, earning Chiron's attention. He also attracted the attention of the man, who I figured was Dionyus, the god of wine.

"Yes Percy-" He cut himself off when he lay his brown eyes on me. He lay down his cards and walked to me.

"When did you find her?" He asked, and Percy replied,

"Earlier today. There was a monster invasion, at Ricewater High School, they found her there." Chiron smiled at me and asked Percy,

"Have you called Leo?" He nodded, and Chiron said,

"Percy, I'll sort this out. Go resume your daily activities." He went out of the Big House, and Leo came in.

"Chiron, you wanted to see me-" He stopped his sentence when he saw me. His sky blue eyes lit up with delight and happiness when he saw me.

"Ally!" He exclaimed and enveloped me into a tight hug. I hugged hm back, only because it seemed right. When he let go, his expression turned from relieved to pure anger.

"WHERE WERE YOU THESE PAST 5 YEARS?! After the war, you just disappaeared!" He yelled at me, and continued yelling as Chiron and Mr D watched.

"We were worried sick, we thought you were captured, it took us 5 goddam years to find you!" Then he hugged me again, and I felt tears on my shoulder, and his body shook with sobs. He looked into my eyes and told me,

"You're like a sister to me, you know that? If you ever get lost again I will hunt you down and tie you to me for the rest of your life. Do you even know how everyone feels? Anthony's is out of his mind with worry, I went to fricking Tatarus to look for you, and Martin went to every world known to mankind searching for you, the Underworld, the sea, the sky, he even went to Tartarus looking for you! And don't get me started on Luna!" Chiron cleared his throat, and Leo looked at him, then blushed.

"I'm sorry you have to see this, Chiron, I really am-" He apologized, and Chiron smiled,

"It's fine, Leo, but please take the meeting room if you want to solve private matters." He nodded and led me into a familiar room, with a ping pong table as the meeting room, and wooden chairs all around the table. I took a seat, and once he closed the door, he turned to me and asked,

"Where were you for 5 years? After the war, you and Chi Yi just vanished, we thought the Blakks had you, we thought you were taken back, but where were you, really? What happened, what do you remember?" I opened my mouth to speak, but then I hesitated. What were we doing here anyway? Why weren't we back in Slugterra? Why does he say the word "Slugterra with such sorrow? And where was Alana? Aren't they always together?

"Ally?" He asked, and I snapped out of my thoughts, which were swirling with unanswered questions, and heavily exaggerated conclusions to the questions. I looked into Leo's blue eyes, and I saw all the hidden pain. They were bottled up, swirling and fueled by fury and resent and the trauma of his broken childhood, all the tornados in his eyes, each one representing the times he felt the most emotional pain.

"Yeah?" I asked, straining to keep my voice casual and upbeat. He asked,

"Are you ok? You zoned out for a minute there, and you look a bit pale...." He approached me and I reassured him,

"I'm fine, Leo, I was just thinking. I'll tell you what I remember, ok?" That stopped him from fussing and he sat back down, and I could feel his full concentration on me.

"During the battle, Emily chopped off my left hand-" He suddenly stood up, and asked me again in outrage,

"SHE WHAT?" I repeated,

"She cut off my left hand, but it was a trick of the Mist. Hazel was there." I held up my right hand, and he sighed in relief as he plopped back into his seat and I continued.

"As I said, the Mist made me think that my left hand was cut off, and I passed out due to the blood loss, and I woke up in a hospital wing, and Chi Yi was beside me." His eyes widened as he asked,

"She's alive too?!" I nodded and continued.

"She told me that everything that ever happened was mere fanfiction, that I was in a coma because I was involved in a car crash, and that she read my fanfiction to me while I was out. So I believed her and I remembered an ordinary past, me growing up with my parents-" Leo looked at me with confusion and told me,

"Your parents?" I snapped,

"Yes, now let me continue. So when I turned 16, my sister, Tiffany and I moved here, to New York, where we went to school. Then I joined my sister's school and met Slugcat first, then Valdezi. They were posing as students, and Cyan was a special guest in my English class. After the class monsters invaded the school and they reminded me of who I really was. Then we defeated them and ran here." After a few seconds of silence, Leo looked at me and asked,

"Where's Tiffany and Cassendra?" I replied,

"Cassendra is in Canada, and Tiffany....I don't know. Now, answer my questions." He chuckled and answered,

"You're still the same as always, Ally. Ask them, and I'll answer them if I can." Before I could restrain myself, I asked,

"Why did you guys move here? What happened while I was gone? Why do you say The word Slugterra like it brings up sad memories? Did Kayla get claimed? Where's Eli and Alana? At the last question, Leo frowned, and lied through his teeth,

"Ally, I can't answer those. I'm sorry. But Kayla got claimed, she's a child of Hades, like Crystine. She survived." I protested,

"Leo, you're lying about the fact that you can't answer my questions. I've been confused about my life for 5 years, I keep getting dreams from you, from Martin, from Anthony, answer my questions, please!!" He stood up and turned away from me, but that didn't hide the tears that fell from his blue eyes to his smooth, shaven face. He muttered something inaudible, then closed his eyes and buried his head in his hands as he sobbed. I asked,

"Leo, I didn't hear that, what did you say-" That's when he turned to me, tears streaming down his face, his eyes and nose starting to turn red as he yelled at me,

"WE LOST THE WAR, ALLY!! And..." He continued, in a much softer, but broken voice.

"Eli and Alana are dead."
