Cortney laid in her bed not wanting to get up for a while, she didn't hear the door open. Her pillow was damp from her tears.

" Cortney," Pansy said sitting next to her with a big smile.

" How was the Yule Ball? " Cortney asked in a weak voice.

" Magical, and exciting," Pansy said in a dreamy voice. " Seamus ended it with Lavender finally".

" Good for him," Cortney said, she as proud of him. " How magical was it? "

" Your cousin...such a great dancer, looked really good," Pansy gushed.

" That's good," Cortney said forcing a smile. Pansy changed out of her really pretty dress and got under the covers with Cortney. " What's wrong, Cort ? You're my best friend, we tell each other everything".

" Teddy," Cortney cried, more tears slipped out from her eyes.

" What about him? " Pansy asked rubbing her best friend's back.

" I....c-couldn't find him and when I did....he was snogging that Elena girl from Beaxtbaton, he cheated on me," Cortney said before breaking down into tears.

" WHAT !? " Pansy snapped getting out of bed. Cortney quickly pulled her back down. " Cortney! "

" Please don't, " Cortney pleaded. " Deal with him later, for now, I need my best friend". Pansy got back under understanding.  Cortney was not seen all of Christmas. Her friends that haven't seen her were starting to get worried. Her girls in the Slytherin dorm brought her food, but she would not eat any of it. Seamus was in the corridor with some buddies. De'lexi whipped around the corner and started to integrate them.

" Have seen Cortney? " De'lexi asked.

" No," Seamus said.

" I haven't seen her since the Yule Ball, I am starting to get worried," De'lexi said in a panic.

" Chill De'lexi," Dean said.

" Wherever Cortney is, she is probably fine," said Neville. Back in Cortney's dorm, she was sitting on her bed, curled up in a ball. She was a mess, tear-stained face, tissues all in her trash can. The door opened, and her cousin walked in. He slowly sat on the bed next to her. He looked at her concerned. 

" Cousin? " Draco questioned. Cortney looked at him without saying a word. She looked back at the water outside the dorm. She watched as the creatures peacefully swam. " What's wrong? " He turned her head towards him, away from the window.

" Pansy didn't tell you? " Cortney asked softly.

" She didn't tell me a thing," Draco said slowly.

" Pansy loved going to the ball with you," Cortney said with a little fake smile.

" She looked very pretty," Draco said with a smile as pink rose onto his cheeks.  Draco took his cousin's hand and rubbed it. " What happened? " Cortney looked up at him, her eyes were red and puffy.

" Teddy...I couldn't find him....and....when...I did...he...was...kissing...some other....girl from Beaxtbaton," Cortney manged out of her mouth before collapsing into tears. Draco didn't say anything, he quickly grew angry. Without saying a word, he whipped out his wand and stormed out of the room.

" Oh no," Cortney said with wide eyes. She ran out of the room after her cousin, to find him already out of the room.

" What's up with your cousin? " Crabbed asked. Cortney explained to them what happened.

" Oh no," said Pansy with wide eyes. Crabbe and Goyle quickly left to be Draco's backup.

Seamus was still in the corridor with Dean and Neville. They were on their way to Slytherin to try to see Cortney.

" YOU FOAL EVIL ARSE NOTT! They heard Malfoy shout in pure anger. The three turned the corner to see Theodore Nott pinned against the wall. Malfoy had wand pointed at Theodore threateningly. Crabbe and Goyle blocked either side so Theodore wouldn't escape, Goyle held Theordore's wand.

" Let him go Malfoy," Seamus growled walking over to them.

" Stay out of this !" Draco snapped.

" She was a veela! " Theodore said trying to defend himself.

" I don't care if she was a veela, that gives you no right to kiss her! " Draco said very angrily.

" Kiss her? " Neville asked confused.

" It's been only going for a month! " Theodore explained.

" ONLY !? ONLY !? THAT SHOULD BE NEVER! YOU HAVE BEEN CHEATING ON MY COUSIN FOR A MONTH! " Draco roared.

" You did what! " Seamus snapped rolling up his sleeves. Neville and Dean did everything in their power to hold the angry Irish man back. " You stupid bloke! Piece of shit! " Seamus kept spitting out words angrily and flailing his arms everywhere. Draco and his gang were taken back by Seamus's and the other's actions. Draco pulled an impressed face before facing Theodore again.

" Why does it matter to you ? " spat Theodore. " She is just some stupid girl". Neville and Dean let go of Seamus. He angrily pulled out his wand who was stopped by Goyle.

" Let me through! " Seamus shouted angrily.

" What is going on here ? ' asked a stern voice. They all stopped what they were doing and saw McGonagall standing there unimpressed.

" Professor," Draco started.

" A point taken from each student, and detention for all of you," McGonagall growled. Later that night, Cortney freshen up a little. She sneaked out and went to the Gryffindor common room. She wanted to be as far as possible. When she entered she saw Seamus sitting by the fireplace. She walked over and sat next to him. He turned and looked at her for a minute. Even with the shower, she looked like a mess.

" How did not I notice this? " Cortney questioned. " Slytherins are supposed to be clever."

" Cortney O'Donnell! You are very clever," Seamus said. " You were just blinded by the stupidity of Teddy.

" I heard about you and Lavender, how are you feeling? " Cortney asked.

" Better than ever, I am so glad to not be dating her anymore," Seamus said with a smile.

" That's good," Cortney said with a forced smile.

" Are you staying here tonight? " Seamus asked.

" That's why I'm here at the moment. I want to be as far from that monster as possible," Cortney said as tears ran her cheeks. Seamus whipped them off with his thumb.

" I'll let you share my bed with me," Seamus said getting up. He lead her to his dorm, where the rest of the boys was asleep. Seamus slept under the covers as Cortney slept under. Cortney did not really sleep. She had her back to Seamus.
