Chapter 23
It was two weeks after Liam and I came to terms with our feelings, and I had never felt better. Everything seemed to be going perfectly; Sam was dating an amazing new girl named Amber, the guys were done touring for a few months, but the best part, was that the fans accepted me.
They actually liked me, and thought Liam and I made a good couple. Sure, there were a few who told me to go to hell or flat out hated me, but I didn't let it get to me...well I mean, after sending a very rude comment full of profanities it's very easy to forget.
"Diana, grab me some chips!" Niall called.
"How about you get your lazy ass up, and get yourself some chips!" I yelled, bringing the popcorn to the living room.
"Be grateful, Liam. She's all yours." Niall mumbled, pushing himself off the couch.
I smiled and handed the popcorn bowl to Liam, leaning into his side. We were watching some stupid movie that involved Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum. I'm not sure why we were watching it anyway, it seemed like more of a chick flick.
"So, did you want to grab dinner tonight?" Liam asked, his eyes never leaving the TV screen.
"Yeah sure. What were you thinking? Chinese, Mexican...?" I asked trailing off, letting my eyes travel to the remote longingly.
Stupid movie.
"Italian sounds good to me." He told me, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
"Well, Italian it is." I agreed, smiling and trying to watch the awful movie.

I slipped on my red dress and pulled on a pair of black boots with the slightest heel. Hey, at least I was trying. I clumsily walked over to my vanity and stared back at my reflection: my blonde, curled hair was just loose enough, my makeup wasn't too much and my outfit was perfect for dinner.
Liam always did say he liked me in red...
I smoothed my hair down one last time and walked downstairs to meet Liam.
"Damn, girl!" Louis shouted, as Harry sent a whistle my way.
"Are those heels?" Sam scoffed, Amber coming to look at me as well.
"Hey, nobody get any ideas, I'll still kick each and every one of your asses." I warned, prepared to use my stupid shoe as a weapon.
"Sorry, I'm late I couldn't get-- Diana, you look amazing." Liam said, a slight blush creeping up onto his cheeks.
"Well, you don't look too bad yourself." I smiled at him, walking the last few stairs to the hardwood floors.
Liam had on a pair of khaki pants and a light blue button down shirt. I walked over to him and grabbed his hand in mine.
"We're off, then." Liam announced, waving good-bye to everyone and walking with me outside, and to his car.
"I'm so excited that it'll just be me and you tonight." I told him, kissing him.
"Me too. It's been too long, and I'm getting tired of watching Harry and Niall have hot dog eating contests." He chuckled, starting the car and backing it out of the driveway.
The ride there was spent singing as loud as we could to the new 5 Seconds of Summer album, and rolling down the windows at red lights and stop signs to sing to the car beside us. Once or twice, the people we were singing to were teenage girls who flipped out and tried to follow us. Let's just say we had to take a few detours down roads that we weren't supposed to be trespassing on.
By the time we got to Suzanne's, the restaurant, we were both breathless from laughing so hard and almost in tears. When we reached the door, we simultaneously straightened up and wiped the tears from our eyes, trying to look presentable.
Liam pulled the door open for me, gesturing inside. I smiled at him, biting the inside of my cheek to keep from laughing again. I walked inside and told the host what our reservation was under. He showed us to our table and Liam pulled my chair out for me, and took a seat across from me.
"Oh my God, I thought I was going to die listening to his accent." I giggled, after the host left.
"Yeah, what was that anyway? Slovakian?" Liam replied, laughing.
"I have no idea, but it was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time." I sighed, watching as Liam's glance shifted from my face to something behind me.
I turned around, looking for the source of his distraction, but couldn't find anything. I shrugged, trying to shake it off. Nothing was there. It was absolutely nothing.
"I'm going to use the restroom." I told him, struggling to stand up in my stupid heels.
After getting my bearings in them, I shot Liam a smile and slowly walked to the bathroom. It was a single stall, and I quickly locked the door behind me.
For some reason, I was freaking out. I couldn't figure out why, though. Was he staring a girl who was prettier than me? Was he thinking about something other than our date tonight? Was he going to break up with me?
I stopped and leaned over the sink, pressing my hands firmly into the counter. I needed to stop. I had to stop. It was nothing, I was just being paranoid. I ran some cold water over my hands and dried them on a towel. I smoothed down my dress and took a breath as I left the bathroom.
I walked towards our table, passing the host stand on the way, and smiled to myself as the creepy man looked at me.
"So, that weird host was giving me this look like--" I started, stopping in my tracks when I saw another girl sitting in my chair. "Oh."
"Oh my, how embarrassing. You must be Diana. I've heard so much." The girl said, struggling to get up and give me a kiss on the cheek.
"Um, yeah, great. Who the hell are you?" I asked, sitting in my chair and shooting Liam a look across the table.
"My name is Carol. I dated Liam in...oh, what? 10th grade?" She told me, laughing.
"It was 11th grade, come on Carol. We dated for 10 months! Get with the program." Liam said, laughing with her.
"Ha, yeah." I smiled tightly, clenching a fork in my left hand and trying really hard not to stick it into her skinny ass leg.
"Well, I'm sorry for interrupting your dinner." Carol said, smiling.
"Have a good night." Liam replied.
"Yeah, bye." I flatly told her.
"Oh and Liam, maybe we can hang out sometime."
Liam nodded and she walked off, shaking her non-existent hips. I slumped back in my chair, suddenly not so pumped for dinner anymore. That must've been who he was looking at. That stupid bimbo. For God's sake, she flirted with him right in front of my face.
"Hey Liam?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
"What did she mean about hearing a lot about me?"
"Oh, we talk on the phone sometimes. Carol was who I talked to when we were broken up. She's always kind of...been there, you know?" He said, taking a sip of water.
"Oh." I answered, taking the menu and looking at the options.
How had my one and only date night been turned upside down by this stupid girl? I looked at Liam, glancing at the menu and realized that I was lucky to have him. He would never in a million years cheat on me and I trusted him fully. I smiled, watching as he looked at me again, and he smiled back.
"Goodnight, Carol!" He called, waving, that big smile still plastered on his face.
I turned around soon enough to see Carol disappearing and sending a kiss Liam's way. He was smiling at her not me. She was there for him when I was being an asshole. He looked at her like he had never looked at me before.
Well, maybe I shoudln't consider myself so lucky.

So, instead of 25 chapters I'll probably do 30.
I'm going to be doing two endings, a happy ending and the original ending for the book. They will be posted at the same time, so if you want a fairy tale ending, read the chapter labeled "Happy Ending" and if not read the one titled "Original Ending".
I'm doing this because I know some of you prefer happy endings and the one I had planned for this story isn't really one.
Thank you all and I'm sorry for the slow updates.
High school is kicking my ass.
