I know that I haven't been doing a great job at these devotions lately but I'm doing my best and isn't what God asks of us to do our best. Who alone in this world was perfect? If you answered Jesus then you are on the right track. But Jesus wasn't the only one who was perfect. God is perfect as well. Nothing is ever a mistake in His image and He alone is the One Who will give us a chance at eternal life. God doesn't expect perfection from us because His Son paid the price for our sins while being a perfect spotless Lamb. What God does expect from us is obedience, faith and trust in Him, and trying to do our best while leaving the rest up to Him. I'm not perfect, but to quote a line from Mom's Night Out, I'm a mess. A beautiful mess and I'm His Masterpiece. I spent most of my life pretending that I was this awesome person with a tragic backstory, had powers, and was an awesome hero but the truth is, in God's eyes I'm already awesome because, even though I'm still a work in progress, I'm a wonderful addition to the family with my compassion, my trying to see the good in people, and always being happy even after everything goes wrong. I'm happy because there is joy in my heart for God's love and He chose me to be His child for a reason to further His Kingdom. Either I don't know what it is yet or I have not seen it because my eyes are blinded by this world. You don't have to change who you are because you are the way God made you to be. Our God is an awesome God and He reigns forever and ever from Heaven above. (Quote is a lyric from Awesome God/God only Knows from A Week Away.) Long may God reign in His Kingdom and may His love and mercy be everlasting to us all.
