Devotion #30 - Turn to God for help
5/4/2021
A complex situation? More like a complicated situation that we need a solution fast. It's like Peter denying Jesus 3 times. He was put into a complicated situation during Jesus's trial and denied knowing Him. Sure, his denial was predicted by Jesus, and he lived with that guilt and shame for the rest of his life, but that doesn't mean that he could've turned to God for help in getting out of that situation. Whenever we run into complicated situations in ministering to others, I think it's usually better to walk away and let God take a hold of the problem at hand. But that is just me. However, I'm not wrong in saying whenever you're in a complicated situation and don't know what to say, what to do, where to go, etc, then the best solution is to turn to God. God is the one we need to turn to most for advice, for help, for prayers, etc. He is the reason that we are all alive today because He needs our help in furthering His kingdom and His family. The second we become saved through Jesus Christ, we become His children and He becomes our Father. Fathers are the ones who look out for their children and help them to get out of complicated situation they've put themselves in. So, God does the same for us. Rely on Him, ask Him for help, and let God take control of the situation. He always has a plan for everything and He knows what's happening in both our minds and in our lives, long before we even knew about ourselves. God even had a plan for Peter, and Peter denying Jesus was the jumpstart needed to get Peter to become a full-time true believe in Christ. "Trust in the Lord, lean not on your own understanding" - The Reliant. That line from that Christian movie has stuck with me ever since I have watched it so many times. I think that it's God's way of saying for me to trust in Him more and rely on Him instead of myself for answers to questions that I don't even have. God is the solution for everything. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" - Proverbs 3:5 NIV.
Amen
