When Emmy got back to Ceco, she immediately wasted no time to get back to her love ones.  When she entered the city, everyone greeted her with smiles and a bow. Emmy nodded her head to them, however she quickly made her way towards the castle.  

When she entered through the castle’s gates, Steward Seth was waiting with the stableman for her arrival.  When Emmy got off her horse, the stableman took away her horse and entered the castle with Steward Seth.

“My lady, I hope your travels went smoothly?”  Seth asked as he pushed open the door for her.

Seoras’s finger lightly caressed her neck as he moved away and sat down next to her.  Emmy’s eyes lowered as a mix of emotions overflowed through her. Why did it seem like Seoras was unhappy about her and yet, he gave her the faintest  touch to apologize to her.

Was he unhappy with the things she’s done?  Was he going to leave her now that he knew just how much of a villain she become?  Her uneasy feelings clouded her eyes and she stayed quiet as everyone sat down and began to eat.  Her hunger disappeared with her troubled emotions.

“Are you not hungry?” Seoras asked as he leaned into her ear.

“You know his situation.  He had to leave.” Gengrick tried to find a middle ground between Seoras and Dominic.  “Just because he left does not mean he stopped thinking about us. Stopped caring for us.  Stopped loving us. You can’t say you didn’t think about Dominic at least once since he left.  You didn’t stop caring for him, nor stop loving him. Now he’s back. “But it’s different now.”  Seoras said sternly. “Things change.  People change. I don’t know if I can be so forgiving on the fact that he left us without a word or a proper goodbye.  We had to find out from someone else why he left. And for him not to tell us what was wrong in the beginning then leaving us without a word is something that I am unwilling to forgive so soon, just because he’s back and wants to be back into our lives.  Besides, Emmy is part of our lives now. What if Dominic is not as accepting of Emmy as we are? What if Emmy is not accepting of Dominic? I am unwilling to sacrifice Emmy’s happiness and love. She’s been through enough. She deserves so much more from me, but I can’t give her everything that she deserves.  That’s why she has you.”

“Seoras.”  Gengrick sigh again before speaking.  “All we can do is take it one day at a time.  But we need to speak to Emmy. Let her know about Dominic.  Let her also decide if Dominic is someone she would like to stand by her side.  And in the meantime, we can observe Dominic and see if he is someone who we are willing to let back into our lives. He has a lot of making up to do, to the both of us.”  

Seoras didn’t say anything else after.  Their silence covered their thoughts and feeling as if they wanted time to keep their thoughts to themselves and figure out what to do next.
