88. One Hundred Sleepless Nights
The three boys were on a hunt, and they were going to stay at a motel. Cas rented their room, but Dean was a bit surprised by their sleeping arrangements.
"Cas?" He asked.
"Yes, Dean?"
"There are only two beds."
"Yes. I am sorry, Dean, but this was the last room available. I am truly sorry."
"Nah, don't be. One of us can just sleep in the floor."
Sam suddenly yelled, "NOT IT!"
Cas joined in, "NOT IT!"
"Oh come on! How old are you two?"
Sam smiled. "Whatever. I'm not sleeping in the damn floor."
"What, you think I want to?"
"No, that's why I said 'not it'."
Cas sighed. "Dean, I can sleep in the floor. You can sleep in my bed if you wish. I don't really need a bed."
"Cas, it's fine."
"Dean, I'm the one who rented this room to begin with. This is my doing, the least I can do is repay you for that."
Dean sighed. He didn't want Cas to sleep in the floor. The poor guy wouldn't get much of any sleep at all. "Fine. If you insist."
That night, as Sam slept like a rock, Dean was having trouble sleeping at all. This was a regular occurrence. He'd just lie in bed, ruminating about the day. Though tonight, he found himself thinking about Cas.
The poor guy was human now. It was a serious game-changer for him. He had no idea how to live as a full on Homo sapien.
He looked down at the ex angel, who was trying to sleep on the left side of Dean's bed. "Cas?" He whispered.
"Yes, Dean?" Cas whispered back.
"You having trouble sleeping?"
"Yes."
"Me too. Again."
"You haven't been sleeping?"
"Well, I usually can't get to sleep until three in the morning. I just end up... thinking." He had never told anyone about this. Why now?
"What do you think about?"
"Everything, really. The things I've seen, the things I've done, the whole world I guess. Just everything."
"I find myself in deep thought as well. About... being human, everything that lead to my... grace being lost. The mistakes I made. Every damn mistake that lead to the fall. All my brothers and sisters fell... and it was my fault, Dean. My fault."
"C'mon, Cas. Don't beat yourself up. These things just happen, man."
"Dean... they all fell. All of them. And... I was the cause of that. It was me. It was all my fault." And the worst part; he sounded like he was about to cry.
"Cas, come here. Get up here."
Cas got up and sat on the bed next to Dean with tears in his eyes. He couldn't speak past his tightened throat.
"Listen to me, man. You've gotta stop blaming yourself for all of this. I know you feel like this all happened because of you, but you're not the only one at fault here. You gotta stop putting yourself down. Just stop."
"Dean," Cas sniffed. "They're... they were all cast out of heaven. They fell, Dean. They all fell." He choked back a sob.
"It'll be okay. You didn't mean for it to happen."
"But it happened, Dean. They fell. They all fell."
He couldn't help but cry a little. And when he did, Dean couldn't help but wrap his arms around him.
"It'll be okay, man. You'll be okay."
Cas started sobbing into his shoulder. "I want my grace back! I want my grace back!"
"Shh, it's okay. You'll get your grace back. I'm sure you will."
"I-I wanna be an angel again!"
"Shh, just relax. I promise you'll get your mojo back, even if I have to go to heaven myself and tear Metatron a new one."
"I feel so empty. Why do I feel so empty?"
"I don't know, Cas. I dunno, buddy."
He did his best to comfort him. He hated seeing his angel like this. He suddenly realized he referred to him as 'his' angel. His angel?
"You wanna sleep up here? I'll just stay on my side, you stay on your side. Okay?"
Cas nodded. "Okay."
Dean was on the right side and Cas was on the left, their backs facing each other. Dean still couldn't sleep, probably because of everything Cas just said. The poor little angel was an emotional train wreck. A very, very bad train wreck.
"Cas?" He whispered. "You asleep?"
The only response he received was a barely audible snore. As good of an answer as any.
He sighed and tried to sleep. And by some miracle, he did manage to sleep for about a half hour, until he woke up and realized he had turned over. And so did Cas. Their faces were half an inch away from each other.
Dean jumped slightly, which caused Cas to stir. Dean laid down on his back and stared at the ceiling. He tried to go back to sleep, but soon realized how difficult that would be.
Cas was by far the loudest snorer Dean had ever heard.
He tried to block it out, but the guy sounded like a freaking lawnmower. He turned over so his back faced the snoring angel, covering his ears with his pillow. No wonder angels don't sleep.
Snore... snore... snore. It was ridiculous. Was he the only one who heard it?
He suddenly felt an arm drape across him, the snores growing louder. Cas was right freaking there. Snoring right in his ear. Not even the pillow could help, not that it did. It just slightly muffled the sound.
He tried his best not to turn over and kill him. It was quite effortful.
He felt Cas wrap his legs around his own, and his feet were just freezing. It felt like they had just been in the freezer for a few hours.
He could make it. He would make it. He would not murder the angel getting way too close.
The angel drew closer, wrapping his arms tightly around the hunter's waist. He hummed with content, which soon turned back into snoring.
This was just unbearable. He couldn't even.
"Cas?" He muttered. "Get the fuck off me."
But the angel wasn't waking up anytime soon. And as much as Dean wanted him to have a good night's rest, he couldn't let this go on any longer.
"Cas!" He hissed. "Cas, I swear to god, I will kick you off this bed."
Cas only gripped his shirt tight, moaning in distress. He sounded like he was having a nightmare.
"Dean... help." He mumbled.
"Cas?"
Cas suddenly started kicking, like he was running. "No. No. I'm sorry. Please."
"Cas, buddy, wake up."
He started breathing heavily. "N-no. Gah! Stop it! I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry!"
"Cas-"
"I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY! PLEASE!"
"Cas, c'mon, wake up!" He did his best to turn over and try to shake Cas awake. "Wake up, Cas! Just wake up! It's just a dream, buddy! Wake up!"
Cas jerked awake, scrambling to his feet and backing into the wall. Tears began to cascade down his face.
"Cas?" Dean approached him. "You okay, man? What was that?"
"They were gonna kill me," He cried. "I was in the woods where... Metatron sent me after he stole my grace. All the angels were there, about to kill me for what I had done."
"Cas, it's okay. It was just a dream. You're not dying today, you hear me? Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. I won't let anything or anyone hurt you, you understand? The angels aren't here, they're not gonna kill you."
"Dean-"
"Shh, come here." He wrapped his arms around the sobbing ex angel, determined to stop his tears from flowing.
"I thought I was gonna die. I thought I was gonna die." He kept muttering.
"Shh, sh, sh. You're not dying just yet. I won't let that happen, okay? I love you too much to let you die."
"Wait," Cas sniffed. "You... you love me?" He looked up at the hunter with quizzical blue orbs.
And Dean realized what he just let slip.
"Um... did I say 'love'? I meant... uh, care about. I... I care about you too much to let you die. I... I don't... I don't really...-"
"Dean... do you love me?"
Dean blushed darkly. He wasn't actually sure what he felt. He cared about the nerdy little dude with missing wings, but was it love?
"I... I don't know. I just might. I mean... there's so much going on in my head, and I don't really know what to think anymore. It... could be love."
"I hope it is. Because... I just might love you too." He half smiled.
Dean returned the smile. "Really?"
Cas nodded in affirmation. He pecked Dean's lips, blushing a little.
"I love you as much as Sam loves research."
Dean chuckled and kissed him, this one being much deeper and more affectionate. He pulled away, biting on Cas's bottom lip.
"I love you more than pie."
That was all Cas needed to be completely breath taken. He grabbed him by his shirt, pulling him in for a chaste, lust filled kiss.
The angel quickly broke free. "Take me, Dean."
"Oh, you know I will. But we're gonna need a different room unless we want Sleeping Beauty over there to hear us." He gestured to the still sleeping Sam. He must've really been out if he hadn't heard them.
"How about the bathroom?" Cas bit his lower lip.
Dean smiled. "We can go wherever you want, Cas."
They went into the bathroom, Cas pinning Dean to the door, smashing their lips together. He could feel his boner developing in his pants, and clearly Dean could as well.
They broke free for a moment, and Dean muttered, "Someone's excited."
"I know."
They stripped each other of their clothing until there was nothing but bare skin.
"Jesus, Cas, you're huge." Dean eyed the angel's erection.
"Is that a problem?"
"Hell no."
Cas began to suck on Dean's head, earning moans of pleasure from the hunter. He took all of him in, and Dean sounded like he was going to come right there.
"Oh, Cas, how are you so good at this?" He moaned.
The angel looked up at him with wildly erotic blue eyes. "I write fanfiction."
Before Dean could question his answer, Cas smashed their lips together, practically begging the hunter to enter him. And when he did, they were both bursting with pleasure.
It started slow, until Cas growled, "Give it to me rough, Dean. Show me how much you want me."
Cas was pinned against the door, and he was almost there. He could feel it.
"Oh, yes!" He moaned loudly.
"You almost there?" Dean growled, bucking his hips roughly.
"Oh! Yes! Yes!" He tossed his head back, almost reaching his climax. Nearly there. Just a little more.
"Oh my god!" Dean moaned. "Oh, god!"
"Where is my goddamn climax, Dean?"
"Shh, you're almost there. You're almost there."
Cas arched his back when he finally came, and Dean came soon after. The warm liquid filled the ex angel, and he felt a shudder of pleasure all throughout his body.
"OH MY GOD YES!"
And just like that, they were in a heap on the floor, sitting against the door in a pile of their clothes.
"Wow, Cas," Dean panted. "Fanfiction?"
"That's what you have to say?"
"You got all that from... fanfiction? The hell kinda fanfiction you writing?"
"You don't wanna know."
All of a sudden, they fell backward. The door had been opened by a now shocked Sam.
"What... the hell?" He muttered.
"Nothing happened!" Dean yelled.
"But, Dean," Cas looked up at his lover. "A lot happened."
"Okay, yeah, I knew this would happen, but I wanted to stay out of it. I'm gonna go... sleep in the car or something. Or maybe... rip my eyes out."
(A/N: Poor moosie. XD I'm thinking of writing smut that happens in the Impala, but I dunno. I'll save that for a special occasion ;)
I feel like there's something else I was gonna mention... what was it? Hmmmm. I dunno.
