Another update ;)

Alexander's pov

I woke up due to the several rings on my phone. I growled as it brought me out of my sleep. I opened my eyes and squinted them as the brightness of the phone was very bright. I picked the call and placed it in my ear as I heard a very loud scolding

''Alexander! Why didn't you come to work yesterday?! I told you I needed to tell you something very important''

I groaned as I realized who it was

''I'm so sorry grace. It just that I was busy and stuff like that''

I wanted to lift my arm as I saw a woman on my bed-naked

I gently pushed her away as I got up wearing my boxers with the phone still on my ear which my shoulder supported

She moved quietly as she opened her eyes. I shushed her as she was about to talk signaling her that I'm on the phone

''Really? Are you sure about that? Because I remember telling you a week ago tho. You haven't been to work for the past 2 weeks Xander. You should really come to check your club. Thank goodness I'm here. Who would have known what would have happened?''

She huffed

''I'm so sorry grace. I'll come today. Promise''

I told her as she cut the call

I went straight to the bathroom to have a shower

In the process, the door was creaked open and there stood Hailey

''can I join you?''

''no''

She was taken back

''but-but it's my job to satisfy you, sir''

''it expired yesterday. You were meant to be gone yesterday after your service but you stayed. Why is that?''

She wriggled her eyebrows and whined

''I was so tired yesterday'' she yawned ''I would have collapsed if I left and besides you drained all the energy in me''

She winked

I shuddered and felt sudden irritation

''well, we have a spare room and I told you about it before Hailey. You should go to that room. You know that there are no fucking strings attached''

She felt hurt and came closer

''tell me, why? Why don't you like me, Xander? Why?''

''damn it Hailey. I told you this before. When we get down into business, no fucking string is attached''

'' but-but... tell me I'm the only only one you fuck right?''

''And what's your business if I fuck other girls?''

She bit her upper lip and turned around

'' I just wanted to know. That's all''

''well yes''

But it's true tho

''oh ok''

She went all sad

'' We agreed on no strings attached. When you leave, shut the door behind you and don't come back if not, you'll be dead. I'll transfer your balance to your account''

''fine. Am sorry. If you need me again. You know that number to call..''

With that, she left and closed the door quietly as she left

I took a deep breath as she spoilt my mood today

I got out of the shower and got dressed.

I got out of the building and went straight to my car. I told the driver to take a day off which he was glad

I glanced at the time and it was 11:45 am. I drove out of the gate as I received a phone call from Grayson.

''boss, we found some of his members. They are trapped here''

''good. Now, wait for me. I'll interrogate them. Be there soon''

I cut the call and took a left turn which leads to the warehouse. I'll go to the club later in the evening

What's on my mind right now is how I'll bully and questions those bastards and kill them with my bare hands...

Jessica's POV

''let's watch something before we go to work''

I suggest as cami nodded going into the kitchen to pop the popcorn in the microwave

I went through all series of Netflix,

''Sex education?''

I suggest

''Nah. Want a movie not series''

''Polar?''

''nope''

''grown-ups?''

''The Irish man?''

I nodded my head

''cami, why don't you come-ooh oh what of Ocean's 8?''

''that's more like it''

She said coming in with a big-large bowl of popcorn and soft drinks

''wow, guess I'm not the only one ready for the movie''

I teased as she settled beside me

''oh the lights''

I said as I got up to switch off the lights

Now it was cold and dark

I settled beside her as I played the movie and digging into the popcorn

I couldn't enjoy the movie because of Camila's oh no! damn it! They will find the damn necklace! What the fuck are they doing? And also me shushing her every second. But the movie was awesome. Very

I glanced at the time after putting popcorn in my mouth which by the way will soon finish. It read 4:34 pm

''oh no! work. We are going to be late for work''

I replied as I quickly stood up

''oh calm your shit down. No, you aren't. I got someone to pick us up and we still have like an hour 35 minutes more or so. We start by 5''

She laughed nodding her head which made me simper

''sorry''

I sat down and continued watching in silence

The movie is so good and fun and a bit less action than I expected. Maybe it's an action for Camilla. Weird

After that damned movie. We went to our rooms to get ready for work.

I was still deciding what to wear when my phone beeped. It was a message from Joshua. Joshua is my best friend in college...

I opened the message and it read

''hey, sweetcakes! How are you? Sorry I couldn't call. Just bought a new phone.''

I smiled...it's so nice having a friend in fact the best one

''yeah..I'm good! What about you? I've missed you!''

I placed my phone on the bed and was about to get my clothes when it vibrated.

Fast much!

'' I'm good. Thanks. So wassup? I haven't seen you around lately... anything wrong?''

I gulped. I don't want anyone to know about this...it's not like I don't trust him or so but it's just uncomfortable. At first, I wanted to lie. But I couldn't bring myself to it. I just told him the truth and he told me he understands. That he's one call away. I smiled at his text. Nodding my head negatively as the thought of us dating and him being so sweet appeared. That's why I like him. As a friend of course.

''Jessie! He's here!''

Cami knocked on the door while I rushed to get dressed

She opened the door sighing

'' you need to be fast... Rodrick is here already and he will be pissed that we are wasting his time''

She said helping me zip my short gown

I sat down and I applied little makeup while she packed my hair into ponytail

I thanked her, wore my heels, and locked the door while cami went downstairs to plead with...Rodrick.

As I was heading down the stairs he was already complaining... wonderful!

''Damn it, babe...you took time. Now I'm gonna be late for work. Be grateful that you and I are 5 and 6''

With that, he winked

I shuddered. He isn't so bad himself. Just piercings and tattoos.

''who is that babe?''

He asked breaking me from my thoughts

Cami smiled

''This is my friend I have been telling you about. Jessie. Jessie' 'she said turning to me ''meet Rodrick''

I smiled and shook his hand. I swear I saw a glint of mischief in his eyes

Cami saw me uncomfortable and she smacked him on the head.

''Dimwit... don't try messing with her. I'm fucking serious about it''

He raised his hand in surrender laughing

''yes ma'am''

He went entered the driver's seat and started the engine while cami apologized with her eyes. I only smiled to reassure her that I am fine. We got in and he drove off. Cami was at the passenger seat chatting about who knows what. I on my own stared outside at the beauty of the sun which is now setting bringing out the city's beauty. Everyone is busy on their own. Parents with their children, couples with hanging around. teenagers hanging around and stuffs like that.

We finally got to the club and we alighted.

''ok, thanks, Rodrick. Drinks on me''

Cami assured as she smiled at him

''yeah thanks''

I smiled too

He waved and drove off. I hope he isn't late for whatever business he's doing

Cami elbowed me laughing as I was gawking at the building in front of us. I smiled embarrassedly. we got inside and cami had to go because she was next on stage.

I went over to my counter and settled on the chair. I guess my other partner hasn't arrived. After t it felt like hours- which by the way is true she arrived. Lots of customers came in today, I glanced at the time which says 7:35. I'll soon close. I close by 8. Those assholes from yesterday came in today and hallelujah they weren't on my table. my Partner-Betty went over to welcome them. Seems they are all familiar with her. They were just laughing and less teasing. I was still waiting for the next order when my phone beeped

''hey... would you like to go out? You know, catch fun. Let's bond. Feels like we aren't close like before''

It was from Joshua

My mouth curved into a smile as I opened the message

''yeah sure. My place at 8:30''

I placed my phone down and went to serve the customers their order

I finally finished my shift and I was already leaving when I saw a man enter. He looked sexy. A fallen god. I mean he looked like a damn eatable sexy devil. He seemed very important because of the way everyone stiffened and the way he was getting their attention means he's a star. Even the manager can't beat that. Ha!

He walked casually into the parlor which contains the VIP and also where meetings are held.

I wanted to meet him but I can't. My shift is done and I have a place to go.

He sat on the armchair alone taking in the sight that is before him. His eyes were still wandering as it landed on me. A smirk appeared on his lips and his face was surprised as his gaze was on me. I looked anywhere but where he was...this is creepy

I finally got outside and headed to Joshua's place.
